Just as Lu Neng was about to stop the scene, he felt the steps beneath his feet start to tremble. Then a heartrending scream erupted from halfway up the mountain, causing everyone who heard it to freeze in their tracks.
"What's happening?"
Lu Neng asked urgently, and the people ahead of him passed his words along.
Looking at his phone which had lost signal again, Lu Neng threw it onto the stone steps in anger, exclaiming, "Damn it! When it's supposed to have signal, it doesn't!"
Soon, the message came back that the people halfway up the mountain had been crushed to death instantly by a huge boulder from above, and the path downhill was blocked, leaving the group divided in two.
The small group below halfway hurriedly fled downhill upon seeing the terrifying scene, leaving the majority above to descend into chaos.
Everyone feared that if another rockfall occurred, they would all die there, but at least they had a choice in how they died.
