It clearly possessed the ability to fly. The massive commotion it had made while walking earlier was merely a cat-and-mouse game, born of a malicious amusement to tease them.
Now, seeing its prey scattering in a panic, the Four-armed Giant Gargoyle finally stopped hiding its strength. With a flap of its massive stone wings, its seemingly cumbersome body quickly took to the air, rapidly closing in on one of them.
The Adventurer it chased didn't look back, but the tremendous noise of its flight told him he was in a dire situation. The gale whipped up by the creature's flight almost knocked his sprinting body off balance.
Fortunately, just before he lost his footing, a new surge of strength inexplicably welled up in his thighs. His trembling leg muscles suddenly stabilized, allowing him to clear the mound's drop and land solidly on the ground. He executed a sliding step and veered in another direction.
But his crisis was clearly far from over.
