Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Astonishing Talent

After Instructor Wu finished putting on the Martial Artist Badge for Ling Feng, he quickly walked away to avoid disturbing everyone's cultivation.

Ling Feng, wearing the badge, stood at the door, glancing first at Yang Liru and then at his classmates in the Cultivation Room.

This strange atmosphere made him a bit uneasy.

Unable to hold back, he asked, "Teacher Yang, do I need to go back?"

"Uh... did you just undergo the entry-level assessment?"

Yang Liru was still somewhat unresponsive.

If she hadn't known how significant the entry-level badge was, she might have thought Ling Feng and Instructor Wu were making a fool of them.

"Yes, following your method, I successfully awakened a Qi Sensitivity and smoothly became an entry-level Martial Artist. Thank you for your guidance; I will continue to work hard."

Ling Feng expressed his gratitude.

"Well... the teacher misunderstood you earlier. Lai Zhijun, get up and move the clutter to the door. Let Ling Feng sit at your spot."

Yang Liru looked quite embarrassed. If not for Lai Zhijun telling her that Ling Feng didn't come to school yesterday, staying at the teahouse instead, she wouldn't have been so out of sorts.

"I... alright."

Lai Zhijun snapped out of it after being kicked by someone next to him, and went to clear the clutter with a frustrated look.

"After becoming an entry-level Martial Artist, remember to participate in the ranking battles in the Star Realm three times each week," Yang Liru reminded.

"Yes, I remember. Thank you, Teacher Yang."

Ling Feng nodded, arriving at Lai Zhijun's seat and sitting down.

"Today, we'll continue to cultivate the Tidal Breathing Method and try to awaken Qi Sensitivity from within the body."

Yang Liru had not yet shaken off the surprise of Ling Feng becoming an entry-level Martial Artist.

Many classmates felt the same way. They couldn't believe that Ling Feng, who had a nonchalant attitude towards cultivation and often coasted along, managed to become an entry-level Martial Artist before them.

Ling Feng couldn't explain to everyone.

He continued to maintain a coast-along state, frequently pausing to take a break and drink some water during his breathing exercises.

This dawdling action continued to irritate Yang Liru.

She also couldn't comprehend how Ling Feng's combat power could be stronger than Wu Weiwei with such an attitude towards cultivation.

"There's surely something fishy at the teahouse; he must be secretly cultivating," Lai Zhijun muttered to himself, sweating heavily from clearing a lot of clutter and feeling weak from a cold.

"Talent."

"It must be talent."

"I need to report this to the school. Such talent as Ling Feng's must not go unrecognized."

Yang Liru finally understood the reason.

She believed Ling Feng's rapid progress to becoming an entry-level Martial Artist, despite his lax attitude, was due to his cultivation talent.

It's like a comparison between a top student and an underachiever.

Lai Zhijun is the underachiever.

Ling Feng is the top student.

Even if he slacks off in the cultivation classes, he can rely on his talent to stay ahead.

Like Lai Zhijun, even if he practices spear technique on the rooftop without sleep, he will struggle to catch up with Ling Feng's progress.

Consequently, Yang Liru had a bold idea.

If Ling Feng could put in more effort and receive the school's special attention with dedicated personnel guiding his cultivation, it would be only a matter of time before Ling Feng became an Elemental Martial Artist.

His indulgent and lax attitude could still make him stand out in class. If he were to get serious, it's unimaginable how far he could go; he might even represent the school in competitions.

He could also shine in the Star Realm's ranking battles.

Thinking of this, Yang Liru felt very excited. No matter what, she couldn't let Ling Feng's talent be wasted. If she couldn't focus him on cultivation, she would report to the school so they could develop a special plan for Ling Feng.

It was all for the sake of humanity.

Yang Liru felt she truly came to the Ninth High School for a reason.

Therefore, when Ling Feng dawdled in the cultivation class, she no longer felt irritated or speechless. Instead, she felt apologetic, realizing she hadn't shown Ling Feng enough care.

If she had discovered Ling Feng's cultivation talent earlier, perhaps he could have become an entry-level Martial Artist sooner. Almost letting a genius go unnoticed was truly regrettable!

If Ling Feng were aware of Yang Liru's thoughts, he might regret becoming an entry-level Martial Artist today.

The day of cultivation soon came to an end.

After becoming an entry-level Martial Artist, Ling Feng's survival resource allowance increased from one meal to three meals a day, and the nutrient liquid content of each meal was significantly higher.

Although still consisting of foods like rat meat, cabbage, or apples, both the quality and quantity had improved.

This was to account for the increased food intake necessary after becoming an entry-level Martial Artist, hence the increased allowance. Correspondingly, the responsibility and mission to shoulder were also greater.

Previously, when he had not received the entry-level Martial Artist badge, Ling Feng was unaware of its heft.

Now that he owns it, he understands the mission and responsibility hidden behind it.

To contribute to humanity!

To fight for human survival!

These two phrases sprouted like seeds within Ling Feng, prompting him to increasingly want to coast along.

When receiving the entry-level Martial Artist survival resource allowance, Ling Feng and Wu Weiwei went to the canteen designated for entry-level Martial Artists.

The Ninth High School has over ten thousand students.

In fact, new entry-level Martial Artists are made every day.

However, today's number was relatively large because, at their age, many have developed insights and accumulation in the Tidal Breathing Method.

In the days to come, more and more senior Martial Dao students will successfully become entry-level Martial Artists.

Until a new batch of senior Martial Dao students emerges, the growth trend of entry-level Martial Artists will sharply decline, and after a period of stabilization, it will flourish again, repeating the cycle.

Ling Feng only consumed two of the three survival resource allowances, intending to pack the remaining one for Zhang Qingqing.

To help both become entry-level Martial Artists, Zhang Lei took loans to buy nutrient liquid. Now, having become an entry-level Martial Artist himself, Ling Feng could not forget Zhang Qingqing.

Previously, not yet being an entry-level Martial Artist, he had left half of his survival resource allowance for Zhang Qingqing both out of gratitude and to repay Zhang Lei's kindness in raising him.

Now, as an entry-level Martial Artist, he couldn't forget Zhang Qingqing.

However, Ling Feng's decision was quickly halted by an official.

It turned out that the Seven Great Star Systems Alliance's survival resource allowances for entry-level Martial Artists and senior Martial Dao students were entirely different. In history, some took advantage by selling their survival allowances at low prices, forming an industry chain, which severely slowed down the advancement of entry-level Martial Artists' strength for a while.

Since then, there has been a strict rule that all entry-level Martial Artists must consume their survival resource allowances on-site, not taking them outside.

If caught hiding or selling the survival resources to others, they would lose their survival resource allowance, with awards also being reclaimed.
