Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Eccentric Teammates

The posts on this player forum are numerous and varied, with new posts appearing almost every second.

They include announcements and news from the forum organizers, namely the Xia Country Special Administration Bureau, personal experience sharing from seasoned players, some newbie assistance requests, and quite a few posts from non-players.

Originally, Wang Zhifan managed to get an invitation code to enter this secret forum by asking around extensively. Then, after a long period of lurking and exploring various channels, he eventually spent all his savings on a Blade-Wielder career card from Qiang.

Most of the information on this forum no longer feels particularly fresh to Wang Zhifan, as there's already similar content in his memory. What he currently focuses on more is the overall development trend of the player community and the latest movements of the Special Administration Bureau.

It's important to note that the Special Administration Bureau is generally unknown to the public. Most people think it's like a police department, and the Bureau keeps a very low profile, almost never releasing information to the general public. They mainly publish official information on this player forum to influence the player community in Xia Country.

After browsing the player forum for a while, Wang Zhifan went on to do other relaxing things, like watching a movie or reading a novel, or going out to find a diner to have a meal. After all, a person's Spirit needs to both stretch and relax, not always be tense.

After spending the uneventful remainder of the day, and after a night of stable rest, it wasn't long before a new day arrived.

That morning, Wang Zhifan woke up at eight o'clock in his rental room. After washing up, he went out to eat two bowls of beef noodles to fill his stomach. After resting for another half an hour, he finally opened his player panel and chose to enter a dungeon.

Every day, each player has the right to enter a dungeon once. Confident players can clear a dungeon every day, while those less confident can clear it just once a week. This weekly once is mandatory, at least at Wang Zhifan's current level, there exists such a mechanism.

As the young man prepared in the rental room activated his intention to confirm his choice, his figure quickly disappeared from his room and arrived in the dungeon world.

This time, the place he entered was a flat grassland, with green weeds everywhere as far as the eye could see. In the sky, a few white clouds drifted against a blue sky. The only discordant sight was a large tusked beast plowing the ground some hundred meters away.

[Current dungeon goal: Kill the nearby wild boar (Lv3).]

"Another animal-type enemy to kill, this dungeon really lacks novelty."

Wang Zhifan guessed his dungeon target when he glanced at the big creature plowing the ground in the distance. He had hoped for a more interesting enemy, but it seems that's not possible at his current level.

Considering that this opponent looks tough and won't be easy to deal with, Wang Zhifan then turned to look at the two teammates beside him, hoping to work well with them to complete the dungeon.

This time, his teammates were two males. One was a short, chubby 17-18 year old with empty hands, whose physique was somewhat lacking. He wore nearsighted glasses, perhaps a student otaku.

When Wang Zhifan looked over, he was tightly staring at the big wild boar still digging, trembling all over, face pale.

"What's up with this guy?"

Wang Zhifan immediately showed a puzzled expression. It was the first time he'd seen such a strange teammate. The guy not only had no weapons, showing no apparent class, but also seemed completely abnormal, like he was delivering food to the wild boar.

So he then focused his attention on the other teammate, who seemed more normal. This one was a medium-height young man in his early twenties, wearing a black trench coat. His weapon was a black-gray handgun, likely a gunner player.

When Wang Zhifan looked at him, he was staring disdainfully at the trembling chubby teen.

"Cough... Before we start, we better discuss the strategy."

Seeing that neither of his teammates seemed inclined to speak, Wang Zhifan decided to take the lead, breaking the slightly awkward atmosphere.

"Discuss what? With teammates like this, I can only rely on myself!"

The pale and trembling chubby teen showed no clear reaction to Wang Zhifan's words, but the young man in the trench coat replied with apparent irritation, suggesting he's very displeased with such an unusual teammate.

"Are you a melee class? Lv3?"

The trench coat youth then frowned slightly and looked up at Wang Zhifan, who was wearing a wolves' hide armor and holding the Wolf-Slaying Blade, and said.

"I'm Lv1."

Upon hearing this, Wang Zhifan promptly displayed his level indicator, showing his current level.

"OMG! You're only Lv1?!"

The trench coat youth stared at Wang Zhifan's level marker and burst out with an expletive, a complex expression on his face, ambiguous between surprise and anger.

"Well, well, well! This dungeon really thinks highly of me! Listen up, both of you, I'm an Lv2 gunner! You both follow my orders, create output opportunities for me! That's the only way through, got it?"

The gunner player then, with a rather displeased tone, addressed Wang Zhifan and the trembling chubby teen.

"Why must we go first? Can't you just start shooting?"

Wang Zhifan felt a bit annoyed by the person's rude attitude, so he retorted like this.

"What do you know?! How many shots will it take to kill that Lv3 wild boar? If I'm locked on as a gunner and take aggro, we're all doomed! If you don't understand, don't just spout nonsense!"

The trench coat youth then impolitely replied to Wang Zhifan.

"Haha, I advise you to speak more respectfully."

This person's arrogant demeanor had already irritated Wang Zhifan. He was no longer inclined to cooperate with this guy. After all, he only found it difficult to solo the opponent quickly this time, not impossible.

"Oh my God! Who do you think you are that I need to respect you?!"

When the trench coat youth heard Wang Zhifan's response, he grew even angrier, seeming on the verge of a confrontation.

But before Wang Zhifan could respond further, the trembling chubby teammate suddenly cried out.

"I don't want to die... I don't want to die! I don't want to die! Argh!!!"

He shouted as he sprinted, heading away from the distant boar, and away from Wang Zhifan and the trench coat youth, attempting to flee the battle!

"Damn it! How did I end up with you two garbage teammates!"

The trench coat youth cursed loudly as soon as he saw the chubby teen bolt, unwilling to engage in monster fighting.

Meanwhile, Wang Zhifan stood speechless, watching the chubby one run further away, lamenting that today he had really encountered some bizarre teammates.
