Chapter 250 - 250: Thor loses to a Human.

Thor, prince of Asgard and champion of countless battles, had faced giants, beasts, and gods alike. Yet in this desert, under the burning sun and gathering storm, he found himself truly tested.

The man before him—this human calling himself Kurogai Alexander Blackwood—moved with terrifying speed. Each strike from his fists landed like a hammer blow, rattling Thor's bones and forcing him onto the defensive. For every swing of Mjolnir, Kurogai matched him with raw, crushing power.

Thor gritted his teeth, the sting in his knuckles undeniable. Even his godly resilience could not mask the ache. "By Odin's beard… are you truly human? Or some forgotten race of gods?"

Kurogai's mismatched eyes glinted with quiet amusement. "I am human. That alone should worry you, God of Thunder. I didn't expect Asgard's champion to be so… fragile."

The mocking words cut deeper than the blows. Thor's pride roared in protest. Few in all the Nine Realms dared belittle him, and fewer still could back it with strength.

"Enough!" Thor's voice cracked like thunder. He leapt skyward, Mjolnir spinning in his hand. Lightning surged along the uru hammer's surface, arcs of raw power snapping in every direction. The sky darkened at his call, clouds swirling into a violent tempest.

Thor was no mere brawler. His strength was mighty, but his true power was the storm itself. And here, under heaven's eye, he would remind this mortal why he was called the God of Thunder.

A jagged bolt split the sky as Mjolnir pulsed with dazzling energy. The once-clear desert was now wrapped in stormlight, thunder rolling with crushing pressure.

From the ground, Kurogai raised his head, unfazed. The sand whipped around him in violent gusts, but his stance remained steady, his gaze calm. "So this is your true power. Good. Show me all of it. Otherwise, when you fall, you'll only have excuses left."

Thor descended with a roar, Mjolnir blazing like a falling star, lightning focused into one annihilating strike. The force in it could level mountains, enough to obliterate any ordinary foe.

But Kurogai was no ordinary foe.

His eyes narrowed as he drew upon the infinite well within him—the Power Stone's energy fusing seamlessly with his own body. A spectral construct erupted around him, not a skeleton of flame, but a titan of radiant energy, its form blazing violet and crimson, armored and immense. The ground cracked as it rose, a guardian wrought from the Stone's might, with Kurogai standing at its heart.

The colossus raised a sword of solid energy just as Thor's hammer descended.

The desert exploded.

The impact was deafening, a cacophony of thunder and cosmic force colliding in a storm of light. Lightning laced the air, fire-like energy clashed against it, and the shockwave melted sand into glass. For miles, the barren wasteland was reshaped into a gleaming battlefield of fractured crystal and scorched earth.

For long moments, nothing could be seen within the storm. Only thunder. Only flame. Only destruction.

When the fury at last began to fade, the battlefield revealed its scars. The desert was unrecognizable, transformed into a shimmering expanse of fused glass. The air smelled of ozone and scorched stone.

Thor stumbled forward, his armor scorched and torn, his arm swollen from the strain of Mjolnir's channeling. Blood traced lines along his forearm, proof that even Asgard's might could be tested. His breath was heavy, but his spirit still burned.

Across from him, Kurogai's towering construct stood fractured. One of its colossal arms had shattered under Thor's assault, energy bleeding from the wound. Yet within its core, Kurogai remained untouched, his presence steady and unshaken.

He looked at Thor, his tone cool, yet respectful in its own way. "You lived through that. Worthy of your name. But in the end, you've lost."

Thor's gaze burned with disbelief. "Lost… to a mortal?"

He tightened his grip on Mjolnir, but his body betrayed him, faltering under its weight. He could no longer deny it. This mortal, empowered by a force beyond comprehension, had weathered his greatest strike.

Kurogai stepped forward, the broken construct fading into light as he released its energy. "Even gods bleed, Thor. Remember that. Your storm is mighty, but it is not infinite."

For a long moment, Thor simply stared at him, chest heaving. Then, with reluctant respect, he gave a weary nod. "You are no mere mortal. Perhaps not a god, but something else entirely. A monster… or a man who has surpassed his limits."

Kurogai's lips curved faintly. "I told you already. I am human."

Thor's pride stung, but in that moment, he understood the truth. This was no ordinary opponent, but a force Midgard had birthed for reasons yet unknown. And if even the God of Thunder could not best him, then the Nine Realms would tremble when his true potential was unleashed.
