The Sword Mage
The meeting
In the land of Fluteria in the year of 2025 the world is a chaotic place where there are many wars. Where demons, dragons, elves, dwarves, trolls, goblins, minotaurs and humans all fight to survive. On a battle field a half bread between a demon and human woman swings her sword and cuts through her last enemy and shatters on the rock it was standing beside. Suddenly the sword turns to smoke and a naked man appears. The man looks at his condition and runs over to hide behind a near by boulder as he surveys the scene, he says I'm free. The woman steps forward and ask what do you mean? He looks at her and says I have been trapped for so long that I don't know a better way to put it he starts to sing and then clothes form on his body. The woman watches this and is struck speechless her thoughts are was that magic! That's not normal. She can perceive the large amounts of mana flowing around this man and it kind of scares her as he steps out from behind the boulder he looks as if he is clothed in a black Dobok. He looks at her and says I am sorry but I don't know where I am and even worse, I can't remember my name. The woman is startled by the mans good looks and feels a bit of pity for him to be trapped for so long and not even remember your own name. She looks at him and says I'm Sherly and my camp is not far from here and I need to talk to the dwarves about a new sword. Dwarves says the man that's good to know that they are close. Sherly says you can come stay at my camp if you would like and we can see about the dwarves tomorrow. The man walks up to her and asks "horns, and a tail are they demon or dragon?" She looks at him and says my dad was a demon and mom was human you can guess how that happened. The man then asks do you like them and he sings a few notes and the horns and tail disappear and she looks like a normal girl. She feels the change and runs to look in a nearby puddle seeing her reflection she gasps and touches her face. The man looks at her and says if you prefer the other way think warrior and you should change back. Sherly then thinks warrior and watches as they reappear. The man then adds "think woman and you should change to a normal woman again". Sherly spends time changing her appearance. She keeps looking at the man and how he seems so different from everyone else, how most humans would treat her like a demon and attack her, how he uses magic like its nothing and then she feels fear remembering how he said he was trapped and how he came out of the old sword she was using. The man who sold it to her said it had a dragon core and that it was made in the time of legends. When the golden age was, before the fall and the loss of knowledge. That was thousands of years ago that might mean he is thousands of years old. She remembers that she got the sword from a stall and the owner said it was magic but it seems to be carrying a curse so it was cheap. It lasted her 3 years but she never connected with the sword. was never able to use its magic and when it broke and turned into this man, she knew one thing he was not an ordinary man he was powerful. She was scared at first but he does not treat her like most do and he seems wise. She leads him through the forest towards her camp site. It seemed as if even the wild beast in this area avoided him. She noticed that she could not hear him walking behind her and she had to keep checking to be sure he was real. This whole thing did not make sense to her how can he use magic and yet not remember his own name. who is he and what is he because he has mana flowing around him like a dragon yet he looks completely human. Nothing about him makes sense. She asks him "why do you want to see the dwarves?" He responds "I need a new katana" Sherly looks at him and says "you use a sword too?" He laughs and says "of course I do how do you think they trapped me in my own sword'. He laughs again. Sherly says "so you are a sword welding mage"? he replies "in my day we were called sword mages and we were known as a friend to all that is good and true". Sherly asks "still can't remember your name "? He looks at her and shakes his head no. Sherly looks back at him and warns "dwarves don't like people messing around in their tunnels and they expect to get paid for their services". The sword mage responds "that's not a problem, I don't need to go in their tunnels, and I have my ways of paying". They continue to walk for a wile her thoughts churning sword mage who has ever heard of such, especially in this era someone who is a friend to all that's good and true? This would be great if they were a thing. What would that even look like. Would they fight evil. Would they treat everyone fairly, would they care for the poor as well as the rich? There is no such good thing its all about money. Nothing works without money. Everyone knows money is how you get everything. Her thoughts keep looking at the world now and trying to understand him. She came to a conclusion he is a powerful fool who doesn't know how things work. I have to keep an eye on him and protect him. Besides this could be fun
