"Madara, I'm back!"
From a long distance away, Senju Hashirama called toward the cave.
Uchiha Madara came to the entrance and froze for a moment when he saw Renya and Mito standing behind Hashirama.
Why did that brat bring Mito here?
He didn't even need to think about it—if Uzumaki Mito came, it definitely had something to do with Renya.
The two of them lived deep in the mountains; apart from Renya, who was guided there by Scar, no one else could possibly find this place.
"Madara-sama, it's been a while."
Meeting Madara's questioning gaze, Renya greeted him guiltily.
After all, he had brought Mito to their secret hideout.
Uchiha Madara nodded slightly, then turned around and went back inside the cave.
"Hashirama, you actually live here?"
Uzumaki Mito frowned as she looked at the crude surroundings of the cave.
"Haha, I haven't tidied up recently. It's a bit messy," Hashirama said sheepishly, scratching his head.
Renya's mouth twitched as he looked around the nearly empty cave.
Inside, there was only one table, two chairs, and two wooden beds—nothing else.
There was nothing to "tidy up."
Even a bandit would feel sorry for them and leave some money behind.
Honestly, the two of them had completely devolved into cavemen.
Two men in their sixties living in a deserted mountain—just thinking about it was pitiful.
To be honest, if they weren't Hashirama and Madara, Renya might've actually wanted to donate money to them.
They really were that miserable.
"Hashirama, let's just go home," Mito said, her eyes red. She couldn't stand seeing her husband living like this.
Who wouldn't feel heartbroken seeing their spouse live in such conditions?
Even the beggars in the village had it better than this.
"Mito, we just moved in. I haven't had time to get furniture yet..." Hashirama explained quickly.
"Hmph."
Uchiha Madara snorted coldly and leaned against the stone wall, closing his eyes to meditate.
Seeing that, Renya hurriedly went over, speaking mysteriously.
"Madara-sama, let me show you something."
...
Uchiha Madara opened his eyes curiously.
He didn't know what this kid wanted to show him, but Renya's tone was certainly mysterious.
Renya slowly closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, the three tomoe in his Sharingan had transformed into the pattern of a Mangekyō.
Madara's expression stiffened as he stared silently at Renya's Mangekyō.
He hadn't expected this kid to awaken it so soon.
He had planned to awaken the Rinnegan first, then help Renya open his Mangekyō afterward.
But it turned out this kid had already done it on his own.
"Interesting," Madara murmured softly. "What is your dōjutsu?"
That kind of question was normally an absolute secret—something he'd never ask of others.
But Renya was a clansman.
And more than that, he was a comrade who shared his ideals in the "Eye of the Moon" plan.
Asking for such information wasn't unreasonable.
Knowing Renya's ocular abilities in advance could even help them better execute the plan.
Renya didn't intend to hide it. He wasn't planning to move against Madara right now, so letting him know didn't matter.
Ten or so years from now, even if Madara knew all his abilities, it wouldn't change anything.
By then, Madara would be old—just walking would be a challenge.
Even with the Rinnegan, he wouldn't be Renya's match.
"Not bad," Madara said approvingly.
With this kid awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, realizing the "Eye of the Moon" plan would be much easier—
Their success rate would rise from ninety percent to ninety-nine!
"Use the Mangekyō sparingly, though," Madara warned. "Overuse brings the risk of blindness."
Renya's eyes weren't Eternal Mangekyō; when his chakra was exhausted, he could go blind.
He didn't have another pair of Mangekyō to merge for an eternal one.
So he'd have to minimize its use...
"Yeah, I know, Madara-sama," Renya nodded.
Of course he knew. Unless his life was truly in danger, he wouldn't use the Mangekyō's powers.
He mainly used it to show off in front of familiar people.
"You can turn it off now," Madara said helplessly as Renya continued to flaunt his eyes.
This kid's personality seemed... a bit different than before.
"Hehe, got it."
Reluctantly, Renya deactivated his Sharingan.
He'd lived over twenty years, and this was his first time awakening the Mangekyō—naturally he wanted to show it off a little.
If you open your eyes and don't show them off, what's the point of opening them at all?
He was still better off than Sasuke—after awakening his, that guy went blind within ten days.
If not for inheriting his brother's eyes, he would've been a cripple long ago.
Renya didn't have a big brother to bail him out, so he'd just have to avoid using the Mangekyō too often.
If it really came to that, once Madara awakened the Rinnegan, Renya could always transplant some of Hashirama's cells—just like Obito.
That way, he wouldn't have to worry about going blind.
Yeah, safer that way.
Once he had those cells, he'd make Madara "see the truth" with his fists!
Madara would transplant Hashirama cells into him, and in return, he'd show Madara the truth.
A fair trade.
"Kid, what are you thinking about?" Madara asked, frowning.
He had a feeling the boy wasn't up to anything good.
"N-nothing," Renya said quickly, throwing those thoughts out of his head.
Madara didn't press further, turning his gaze toward Hashirama, who was still frantically explaining to Mito.
Looked like they'd have to move again.
Their secret base had just been discovered by a fourth person.
"Kid, don't bring anyone else here next time, understand?" Madara said coldly.
He was working toward the great ideal of peace in the shinobi world—not playing house.
"Yes, Madara-sama."
If Mito hadn't insisted, he wouldn't have brought her here in the first place.
Really, this was Hashirama-san's fault.
If he went home once in a while, none of this would've happened.
A husband gone for years—of course his wife would worry.
How could Renya possibly refuse such a request?
Uzumaki Mito glared fiercely at Madara, her body brimming with leaking tailed beast chakra.
It was all his fault!
If not for him, Hashirama wouldn't have abandoned his wife and family!
Uchiha Madara: "..."
He could only close his eyes again, pretending not to notice Mito's murderous glare.
Women... such trouble.
Good thing he'd never been interested in them, or he'd have ended up like Hashirama.
...
Inside the sealing space, Kurama was even angrier than Uzumaki Mito.
"Damn you, Uchiha Madara!"
"I'll kill you!"
It was that bastard who once used those cursed eyes to control him—causing him to be sealed in this damned space.
Back then, he'd lived a carefree life of freedom and joy.
And all of it had been destroyed by Uchiha Madara.
And Senju Hashirama was no better!
Calling him "too powerful" on one hand, and then capturing him with ease on the other—what a hypocrite!
His two most hated humans were standing together again, right before his eyes.
Furious didn't even begin to describe it.
If not for this seal, he'd have already made them both pay!
He'd let them taste the wrath of a tailed beast!
