Chapter 454 - Prodigy vs Half-Prodigy Final

To escape such an attack, thinking about how Enrico would move to dodge was difficult because if he were in Kai's place, he would have simply created that fire clone and switched places.

'My desire to have a clone to switch places with increased a lot.'

So since he couldn't think like Enrico with Enrico's own abilities, he thought differently. What would Enrico do to survive that attack if he had Kai's abilities? It was impossible to get out of the way of that attack, so that was when the idea came to use all his magic to increase his chances of survival.

'At least my sword evolved.'

His sword had now evolved to Legendary rank and its unique ability's third skill had awakened. The first allowed it to cut magic, the second gave it the ability to generate aura which made it possible to use that aura with his Hero magic, which was why he could now use it that way, and the third ability was…

[Superior Cut: The sword's cutting capacity can cut mages of higher circles up to a difference of one circle.]

Thanks to that he managed to cause that large wound on Volhit's thigh. Trying to stand up with some difficulty he barely managed to dodge his opponent's sword. With his legs trembling he fell slightly to the side and received a kick from Volhit's uninjured leg.

"Gahh."

He began to fall from the wall toward the ground, extending his hand he managed to stick himself back onto the wall while Volhit crouched down struggling to keep his left leg steady. Grinding his teeth he stood up with difficulty walking, with that damage his speed had decreased by at least half.

'Oceanic Light Healing.'

Using the magic he had used moments before to heal himself, his body recovered at an astonishing speed. He regenerated his entire body and the only marks from the battle were his torn clothes. Even so he was still breathing with difficulty and trembling while holding his sword which was now in a different form.

"Your weapon evolved? Where did you get it?"

"Inheritance from my father."

"I see, then you're the lucky type."

"If you think so."

This time instead of using his light magic to move, he created one hundred light swords above the elf. Normally he could summon more than a thousand if he were at his maximum. The light swords surrounded Volhit's entire body who remained standing still without moving. His arm disappeared along with the sword and a wave reflected all the swords. He activated the ability of his sword which revealed itself to be made of Lúmen'Thyr. It seemed Kai was not the only one with luck, since he had his queen who had ordered this sword to be made for him.

'Mana Wave.'

Holding the sword more firmly than before he remained standing still with his gaze fixed on Kai's movements. His sword transformed into a completely white one with circular designs on the hilt.

'As I thought, even with that wound on his thigh he is still superior.'

Kai took a deep breath trying to think of something. It seemed his opponent would not move unless he attacked and the wound made by Turk had forty seconds left before ending. Volhit had many bleeding wounds on his body so to avoid losing even more blood he stopped moving.

'If that's the case then I can simply wait longer for the bleeding to worsen—'

Feeling danger coming from the front he moved to the side and had his ribs cut by one of Volhit's magic slashes. Looking at him Kai noticed that the elf had not even moved, it seemed he was using something new even for himself.

'I never tried it before, but it's quite interesting.'

Volhit watched every movement Kai made. Those cutting spells were being launched by his own body and besides that when his opponent tried to gain distance he summoned his shield magic.

"Giant Shield Fortress."

On the wall giant shields surrounded the wall and the two of them. The space where they stood became smaller and now Kai was running a bigger risk than before. That was because his opponent was using one of his magics in a different way and another reason was that Kai was running out of mana.

'I have one way to win this fight.'

Kai looked at his sword which had awakened a new power. If he managed to pierce his opponent's heart somehow he would die instantly. That was the only weapon he had along with his evolution which had not stopped making him stronger since the fight began.

Sixth Circle 60%

Directing his gaze forward he positioned himself to advance. This would be his second-to-last drop of mana that he would use in that battle. Taking a deep breath he activated his speed one last time with his light magic. The impulse was fast enough to move before the next cuts made by Volhit could be launched at him. Appearing behind his opponent he prepared a thrust toward the elf's heart.

"You're still bleeding."

Volhit's eyes managed to follow that speed and he immediately moved not just one foot but both, using the maximum speed possible even with the injured thigh. Now the one behind was Volhit holding his sword in a descending slash. He had won that fight.

"You're also bleeding."

Kai's eyes did the same as his. Just as he had thought before. He had said he wanted to learn to use his perception the same way Volhit did. He managed to see through the movement of the blood from the beginning of the path to his back and positioned his blade behind him in the exact opposite direction Volhit was coming from. He had used his Dimensional Duplicate ability to maintain the image that he was still holding the blade forward.

"Damn…"

With surprised eyes he could not stop his movement in time, especially because of the injured thigh and the blood loss happening. Even while trying to move at least a little with his determination to protect Elithia. The blade pierced the right side of his heart and immediately, to avoid any risk, Kai turned in place to the left making the blade cut through the heart and half of the chest.

"Thank you for the fight."

Kai remained standing while his opponent's body fell forward with lifeless eyes toward the ground below the wall. As always he did not like killing other people, it was a bad feeling, but he would not hesitate to do it. Especially in a war.

"I will bury you after the war ends."

He looked at the elf's dead body on the ground. The entire wall was destroyed and the mana shields disappeared without leaving a trace. He had managed to defeat a Circle Seven while being a Circle Six and to be honest it was an incredible feeling.

"I'm sorry for feeling like this after killing you… but I can't avoid it."

His eyes moved toward the castle where he saw that half of it was frozen and the other half had disappeared. He was surprised of course since he had been focused on the fight. It might be that Enrico and Elaris were in danger even though he trusted them, especially his rival.

'I need to go back and see if everything is alright.'

Without looking back he began to run with some difficulty toward where his companions were.
