"Hmm, that sounds like a good deal" I said before closing a new deal of machinery that was sent to me by jigoro sama from the village. I was now recognised as one of the members of the council of the village started by Jigoro sama.
I was currently in Tokyo, as I had finished off clearing off demons around some farms near the coasts of Japan, which further strengthened my promotion to of the Kinoe Rank, which was first thought as a mistake, but due to a specific event, now I was very well knows in the corps.
*FLASHBACK*
"Don't you think, it's a bit scary to fight the demon in its own territory? It was said that the demon had a blood art that manipulated vines itself, and we are in a mangrove forest." Said the junior behind me with the air breathing technique I had volunteered to follow me after I divided the backup I had unknowingly gained after defeating one of the weaker demons of the same type in the area and reporting it to the corps.
It had been few months since my rise in the ranking and this was a tough mission for slayers of my rank, so the pillars had decided to send backup for me.
As we went deeper into the forest, I had asked everyone to bring oil and lighters, and as soon as they feel afraid, put the oil on the trees and block the path and stay behind, and that's when it happened - a crack and a slayer shot up as a root held on his back.
I quickly looked back, leaped and cut off the root. The slayers now were alert as several demons lunged at them. They were really good as the demons were quickly dealt with.
The slayers were motivated and we continued further, finding the demon who controlled them all.
A sharp vine shot at me , I dodged it but the slayers were injured.
They used the tactic I asked them to do , except that they were reluctant but finally agreed as they saw me effortlessly go toe to toe with the demon.
"You'll become a very fine specimen kid, look at this- " said the demon as he proceeded to separate the trees behind him and show vines with pale dead bodies of people.
My blood boiled in rage as I looked straight at it in the eye.
It shot multiple vines at me, and I using the vines momentum, gained height and reached a high point.
' Thunder Breathing : Heat Lighting Downstroke'
I proceeded to shatter the leveling of roots it was on and brought him on ground level .
It then threw knive shaped branches at me and then came at me with an axe made of a very dark green root.
I easily deflected the branches and used the modified first form to cut down its neck.
That's when, it removed its neck and attached it to his axe.
The axe was then thrown by the body before I shattered it with my Thunderclap and Flash and Rice Spirit combination. The axe grazed me, and I felt my arm tingling, but as I took a breath, the tingling disappeared.
"What? After the Upper moons, my poison is the most lethal one! How did you manage to be immune?"
" You fucker, let's just say, this isn't my first Rodeo"
Afterall with Yasuko (The monk one) which was coincidental obviously I had defeated some demons and they had poisons as their art. But I instead of just healing myself,used myself as a test, used modified versions of those poisons and made my body immune to a lot of poisons.
I finally had it. I used Thunder Swarm to burn away the axe and as the head was in mid air, I used the Ball Lightning to totally burn and finish it's head off.
I landed cleanly, and the slayers cheered for me as they came running towards me after using the water of the mangrove forest to extinguish the fire and cheered me and themselves up.
I returned to Mount Fujinoro, a base of the corps after defeating my 70th demon, rested for one month with training and headed to Tokyo.
*PRESENT*
"Yo Rai!!" Said Yasuko " Here's some jewellery if you want for uhmm yk- someone"
I ran to the stall and saw various jewelleries, made from precious stones and silver and whatnot. But I had earned quite a fortune by now, so it's not a huge deal for me now.
Yasuko and I were kind of best buddies now, so we decided to team up, He's still around the Kanoe position, and after our little trip to Tokyo, he will head to his shrine for a mission.
I looked at a butterfly necklace of a bluish green hue , with a silver chain. She would love it, so I took it inside a box which had a few more things like some decorative horses, some traditional kimono for festivals and etc.
We had been writing letters about what we do and what we like and whatnot and I've fell for her. It was something in Kaidi's eyes that made mine shine for her. Im just waiting for when I would see her-
We went ahead to the room we booked for the night. We changed to some classy clothes as we were going for sightseeing of the city after returning from the market.
I hid my katana on my back and Yasuko grabbed a small knife I had made out of Nichirin I had asked from the corps. I had also modified my gloves to be covered with nichirin dust and I had 2 small hooks attached to my wrist, camouflaged which would allow me to swing around and a clean knife on my waist.
"Isn't this overkill Rai?" "Nah"
The Tokyo nightlife looked too crowded, but as we climbed up some houses for fun and looked down, the town looked magnificent.
We went to the colonies where the defendants of nobles lived and as we were walking, I found a woman walking, which was unusual as people didn't walk this late and especially not women.
I gestured to Yasuko, and he understood me. We followed the woman, till she disappeared in a veil of some transparent fluid. There was a wall there.
We did exactly what we did, and came to a very serene house with an amazing garden.
We then silently tried to sneak in but then the woman noticed us and asked us calmly.
"Who are you both?"
" Who are you? Because THIS isn't normal"
"I'm a demon, but don't worry, I don't kill humans, and I lured you both here."
We were confused at first, but then she explained about me helping people out using my medicines really made me shine in her eyes. She then went on to tell about Muzan, how he turned her into a demon and she is on a mission to use demon blood to make drugs so that she would defeat Muzan.
I was totally in on the plan and told her that when she would need it, I'll represent her to the slayer corps. I told this after seeing her experiments and impressed by her coping by blood. We were then asked to leave before anyone else noticed and we proceeded to do so.(Yushiro looked like he would kill us)
We headed back to the hotel and took a night rest before Yasuko and I parted. I went to an isolated village, where a strong demon was seen.
As I reached the village, I saw something that did make my hair rise like the time I was struck by lightning .
