Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Three-Headed Dog: I've Never Seen Such Despicable Tactics!

A mere toothpick dared to bark at them?!

Furious at being woken from sleep, the three-headed dog bared its fangs in rage, its six golden eyes glaring like blazing copper bells.

All three heads reared up simultaneously, sticky saliva flying like rope in the wind, roaring in anger.

"First strike is mine!"

Ethan interrupted the three-headed dog's attack, waving his wand and quickly chanting, "Locomotor Wibbly!"

Three spells streaked out like arrows! Before the three-headed dog could react, all three heads were struck squarely by the spells! Perfect hits! One spell even caught one of the heads directly in the eye.

"ROAR!"

The three-headed dog howled in pain and fury. The sound was like thunder, rumbling in the narrow room, making Ethan's ears ring.

So intense!

For the first time since crossing over, facing such a powerful and shocking opponent, Ethan's heart couldn't help but race, adrenaline surging through his veins.

The spell that could instantly floor enemies only slowed down the three-headed dog. But that was enough.

The three-headed dog shook its heads, struggling to recover from this drunken state. In its orange eyes, Ethan's figure was reflected, spitting out tangible fury.

Devour this arrogant little toothpick!

"Whoosh!"

Fangs snapped toward Ethan, but in slow motion, Ethan had plenty of time to dodge. He wouldn't be like Snape, opening the door to a surprise and getting bitten directly.

My turn, draw a card!

Ethan shifted his steps and suddenly vanished into a portal that opened in the wall. His figure disappeared completely.

"Huh?"

The three-headed dog lunged at empty air, staring in confusion at the empty space before them. Where did that little toothpick go?

Their noses twitched frantically, sniffing that unique scent mixed with nuts and minerals. The next second, that scent appeared above their heads!

Ethan leaped down from mid-air, like an ancient knight taming a fierce dragon, landing steadily on the three-headed dog's back!

"ROAR!"

The three-headed dog immediately went berserk. They had grown up! Even their beloved daddy couldn't ride on their backs anymore! Let alone a scrawny little toothpick!

If not for those weird three spells that instantly sapped all their strength, they would have violently thrown off this hateful little toothpick the moment he landed!

The three-headed dog was about to turn and bite. But just then, they suddenly felt empty space beneath their feet, half their body plummeting down!

A pitch-black pit had appeared on the ground, trapping one of their legs! Their entire body instantly toppled sideways!

Three-headed dog: ???

There was actually a trap?! What dirty tactics!

Indeed, Ethan's portals couldn't transport such a massive object. But that didn't mean he couldn't transport "a part" of it!

Question: How many steps does it take to put an elephant in a refrigerator?

On the three-headed dog's back, Ethan grinned, staring at the off-balance three-headed dog with a wicked smile.

Got you.

Who said portals could only transport things? They could also be used as traps to immobilize creatures!

By the way, when portals closed, things stuck inside would return to their original position or be ejected out. Not get chopped off like with Apparition.

Ethan was quite disappointed. Because if it worked, he could learn one less cutting curse.

"Final strike! Confringo!"

Ethan gripped the three-headed dog's mane with one hand, raising his wand with the other, righteous fire burning in his cobalt-blue eyes!

Three crimson spells, like comets piercing the dim room, shot straight up at the ceiling!

The coverage of one spell might not be enough. But what about three?

Ethan was confident he could bring down this entire room!

"BOOM!"

Like a landslide, massive chunks of rubble fell, heavily striking the three-headed dog's heads! Smashing their already toppled bodies directly into the cracked floor!

"Owoooo!"

The three-headed dog howled once, and as its body struggled, sharp stones rolled off its back. There was a reason Hogwarts had stood for ages without falling. The ceiling material was incredibly hard, making each falling stone deal critical damage.

Finally, the three-headed dog couldn't get up, collapsing back exhausted, raising clouds of dust. Smoke billowed like thick morning fog sweeping the surroundings.

The duel was over.

"Tap."

A soft sound echoed. Ethan stepped through the rolling smoke, like a visitor from another world emerging from the gray mist, walking out with steady and leisurely steps.

The moment before the ceiling fell, Ethan had released the trap holding the three-headed dog and portaled away.

He stopped in front of the three-headed dog's massive heads, looking down at them glaring at him with angry eyes.

"Roar!"

The three-headed dog still roared and threatened hoarsely. But no matter what, they couldn't stand up.

Fluffy stared at the little fuzzy head in front of him. Never would they have imagined they would be the ones being hunted.

Clearly just a toothpick-sized cub, why didn't he cry loudly, run around randomly, or cast useless spells?

Fluffy had seen many other humans. Except for their dear daddy, none were as calm as this little toothpick.

Even the smelly human who had intruded before had frozen in place, then fled rolling and crawling.

But this little toothpick had planned every step from the moment he entered. Then executed flawlessly. As if he never knew what fear was. Only battle joy.

And that weird door... They had never seen any human use such magic!

So sinister! So despicable! Was this even a duel?!

The three-headed dog felt wronged. In this entire fight, their participation was zero. From the start, they took three spells, got their foot trapped by a door unable to move, then were finished off by the ceiling.

No resistance whatsoever.

Ethan: "What an exhilarating battle."

Three-headed dog: "..."

Bro, as long as you're happy.

Ethan raised his wand and, under the three-headed dog's fearful gaze, softly chanted: "Reparo."

Gentle yet powerful magic lifted the stones, reinstalling them in the ceiling. Like a spring breeze, in just a few breaths, the room returned to its original state.

"Episkey."

Ethan waved his wand again, gentle magic caressing the three-headed dog's body. Bleeding stopped, cracked flesh slowly healed, and a crisp crack sounded from within the body.

"Episkey" originally could only heal minor human injuries. But with Ethan's magical power level, it was enough to heal this big dog. Moreover, the three-headed dog wasn't severely injured, just unable to stand due to bone fractures and spells.

Ethan sighed in relief: "Lucky that aside from your heads, your body's skeletal structure isn't much different from an ordinary dog. Otherwise, your bones would have been misaligned after repair, haha."

Ethan laughed heartily. Completely oblivious to nearly healing the three-headed dog into another species.

"..."

The three-headed dog shook its fur and stood up again. With complex eyes, it stared at the little fuzzy head in front of him.

This little toothpick actually healed him... What exactly did he want?

Did he come in the middle of the night just to beat him up? There must be another conspiracy!

The three-headed dog watched Ethan warily. Determined that if this little toothpick dared take one step forward, he would devour him in one bite!

A pleasant chime echoed in Ethan's mind.
