Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Second God

Chapter 3: The Second God

The next morning, Kei opened his eyes not to birdsong or sunlight—but to darkness.

A thick, unnatural fog blanketed the forest.

He stood up instantly, eyes sharp.

> System Alert: Environmental Override Detected

Zone Affected: Blackroot Forest

Source: Unknown

Kei frowned. "Someone is rewriting my world again…"

He tapped into the console.

> Command: Clear Fog – Denied

Command: Identify Source – Access Blocked

Message: 'Let them feel fear, oh Creator.'

His heart skipped a beat. This wasn't a glitch. Someone was speaking directly to him—within his own system. And they had power… a lot of it.

"Who are you?" Kei whispered to the mist.

Silence.

Suddenly, a scream tore through the air.

Lira.

Kei dashed through the fog, wind rushing past him. His system interface opened mid-run, eyes scanning for her signal.

> Target: Lira – Status: Engaged in Combat

Coordinates: 400m South

HP: 27% and dropping

Kei gritted his teeth.

"Open System—Teleport to Target!"

He vanished in a flash of light.

The scene before him was chaos.

Lira was backed against a tree, fending off shadow beasts—creatures he never coded. Twisted, eyeless, their bodies dripped with black mist.

"What the hell are those?" he muttered.

> Name: Nullspawn

Type: System Error Entity

Origin: Unknown

He extended his hand.

> Command: Purge Nullspawn – Denied

"What?!" Kei's voice rose. "How can I not delete my own monsters?"

The creatures turned toward him, as if sensing his authority. But instead of attacking, they stopped.

A slow clap echoed from above.

A figure stepped from the trees.

Tall. Dressed in a long coat woven from dark code fragments. His face was covered by a smooth, featureless mask.

> Entity Detected: Unknown God-Level Presence

Name: [Null]

Access Level: Root+

"Ah, the Creator finally shows himself," the masked figure said. His voice was distorted, layered with static.

Kei stood protectively in front of Lira. "Who are you? How did you get access?"

Null tilted his head. "I didn't enter your world, Kei. I was born from it."

Kei froze.

"Born…?"

Null extended a hand and summoned a data blade, black with red veins of corrupted code.

"I am the balance to your godhood. The echo of every forgotten line, every bug you ignored. When you died, I awoke. Now this world is mine to shape, too."

Kei felt something twist inside him.

Could this… thing really be the result of his own code?

Lira coughed behind him. She was still hurt.

Kei activated a stealth command.

> Command: Teleport Lira to Safe Zone – Executed

She vanished in a blink.

Null didn't even blink. "Protecting the weak. Predictable. You always liked playing hero."

Kei summoned his weapon—this time, a massive halberd forged from white fire.

"Then let's see how you handle a god in combat."

The ground cracked beneath them.

Null moved first.

Fast.

Too fast.

His blade came within inches of Kei's neck before it was parried. Sparks exploded through the fog.

Kei spun, countering with a strike aimed at Null's torso.

Null vanished.

Reappeared behind him.

Kei ducked and drove his halberd upward.

CLANG!

Steel met shadow.

> System Combat Log: Power Clash – Equal Authority Detected

Error: Cannot Override Null

Kei's eye twitched. "Equal authority? That's impossible. I'm the only creator!"

Null laughed. "You were. But you lost control. When you died, the system didn't shut down—it adapted. It gave birth to me."

Kei growled. "Then I'll erase you."

> Command: Full Debug Mode – Activated

Command: Overclock All Stats – Executed

His body glowed gold.

Power surged through him.

He moved like a storm, striking in rapid succession—each blow shaking the forest. Trees fell. The ground split. Even the fog peeled away under his attacks.

Null was pushed back, barely keeping up.

"You can't win," Kei shouted. "This world obeys me!"

Null skidded across the ground and slowly stood up. His cloak burned at the edges.

"I don't need to win… yet," Null said. "I only needed to confirm one thing."

Kei narrowed his eyes. "What?"

Null raised his hand.

A red crystal floated into view.

> System Relic: World Core Fragment

Status: Claimed by Null

Effect: Grants Permanent Control Over 15% of Core Systems

Kei's face turned pale.

"No… That's not possible."

Null crushed the crystal.

The world shook violently.

Forests warped. The sun dimmed slightly.

> System Alert: Environmental Parameters Altered

Zone Stability: Degrading

"Soon," Null said quietly. "Even you won't be able to fix this world."

And with that, he vanished into thin air.

Kei stood there, surrounded by warped terrain, his breathing heavy.

He had met the true enemy.

Not a player.

Not a glitch.

But a god born from his own forgotten code.

And worse...

He wasn't the only one with admin powers anymore.
