The Manhattan furniture showroom gleams under crystal chandeliers. Every piece screams luxury, from the Italian leather sofas to the mahogany dining sets that cost more than most people's cars.
"This is it," Scarlett says, running her hand along a king-sized bed frame. "This is our bed."
The price tag reads fifteen thousand dollars. Hand-carved European oak with intricate details that probably took months to complete.
"Fifteen grand for a bed?" I whistle low.
"It's not just a bed. It's a statement piece."
"What kind of statement?"
"That we're building something beautiful together."
I sit on the edge, testing the mattress. The craftsmanship is incredible. Every joint perfectly fitted, every curve expertly shaped.
"It's comfortable."
"More than comfortable. It's perfect."
The sales associate hovers nearby, clearly recognizing the signs of a potential big sale.
