Aiden Knight's POV
Old Man Finch continues staring at the pill like it's the most precious thing he's ever seen. His hands shake slightly as he holds it up to the light.
"Young man, do you understand what you've created here?"
"A basic healing pill," I reply. "Nothing too complicated."
Liu laughs harshly. "Basic? Did you not hear what Old Man Finch just said?"
"I heard him." I keep my voice steady. "But I'm more interested in what it's worth."
Old Man Finch sets the pill down gently on a silk cloth he produces from his pocket. "The last authentic medicinal pill sold at auction went for eight hundred million yuan. That was twelve years ago."
The number hits the room like a thunderclap. Even the security guard drops his poker chips.
"Eight hundred million?" Liu whispers. "For one pill?"
"For one genuine medicinal pill with natural patterns," Old Man Finch corrects. "This specimen appears to be of even higher quality than that one."
