The ground trembled beneath two hundred pairs of charging feet. Battle cries echoed off the empty factory walls as an army of martial artists surged toward me like a human tsunami.
Behind me, I heard Evelyn scream.

The first dozen attackers hit an invisible wall of force and simply stopped. Their bodies crumpled as if they had run into solid steel at full speed. Bones snapped. Blood sprayed from mouths and noses. They flew backward through the air, crashing into the fighters behind them.
The charge faltered as men stumbled over their fallen comrades.
"What the hell was that?" someone shouted.
