Chapter 120 - "119: Severing the Tail to Survive"

When Luo Shu sensed a disturbance within the Astronomy Club's inner dimension, his brows twitched, and he immediately projected his consciousness into the subspace.

This time, however, he didn't manifest a false physical form to carry his consciousness. As a result, his perspective wasn't from the eyes of a human—it was a divine, godlike viewpoint, granting him a full 360-degree omniscient vision, surveying everything like a celestial being.

And it was then that he saw it—Isaha, who had escaped several times before by faking her death, chanting a demonic incantation in the language of Hell.

"—Noble Prince of the Underworld."

"—Master of Lost Knowledge."

"—Herald of Premature Futures."

"—Great Demon God Vassago!"

Seeing Isaha reciting the incantation, Luo Shu's heart clenched. His first instinct was to activate the power of the Astronomy Club's inner world and materialize a weapon to eliminate her on the spot.

The system was capable of manifesting food within the subspace, so naturally, it could also materialize weapons—although such creations couldn't be taken outside the system space and cost a small amount of points.

Luo Shu had experimented a few times and discovered that the more familiar an object was to him, the easier it was to manifest. So, his first choice was to summon his usual handgun.

However, just as he was about to conjure the firearm and finish off Isaha, Luo Shu's intuition stopped him. It whispered that doing nothing might actually be more advantageous.

For the first time, Luo Shu found his rational judgment and instinct pulling him in opposite directions.

This momentary conflict made him hesitate. And that was when he sensed a faint, unfamiliar force entering the domain.

That force was exceedingly weak, like a flickering candle caught in a cold wind, giving Luo Shu the impression that he could extinguish it with a flick of his hand.

So, this is the great Demon God Vassago?

Initially tense from the thought that he had let a foreign entity slip into the club's sacred domain, Luo Shu's mood turned a little strange.

Because he could clearly feel the vast difference between himself and this so-called Demon God Vassago. In fact, he almost wanted to laugh out loud and quote, "Even a grain of rice dares to shine?"

"No, no, Luo Shu, don't get cocky—what's truly strong isn't you," he reminded himself.

Rather, it was the combination of his will and the power of the Astronomy Club's spatial domain that overwhelmed Vassago.

And within this equation, the spatial domain's power far outstripped his own will—it basically rendered him a decorative accessory.

"So, I'm just a bonus feature?" he thought wryly, though his heart remained completely at ease.

After all, even if it's an external cheat, it's his cheat—right?

Whether or not he could defeat this so-called Demon God Vassago in the real world was a different matter. But here, in this space, Luo Shu felt entirely confident in saying, "Come at me ten at a time."

Meanwhile, Vassago's will descended from a distant realm and arrived at Isaha's location. In response to her prayer, he fulfilled the request and granted her knowledge.

With his divine perspective, Luo Shu personally witnessed how Vassago accessed and transmitted forbidden knowledge to his follower. Through that link, Luo Shu even managed to intercept and understand the information being shared.

A divine realm belonging to an Elder God? Could the space carved out by the Astronomy Club really be called a divine kingdom?

But hold on—since when did divine kingdoms require their gods to pay to use functions? Isn't this whole "God of a Pantheon" title just a misleading sales pitch?

Just as Luo Shu was grumbling inwardly—

Demon God Vassago abruptly and unilaterally severed his connection with Isaha.

But cutting her off didn't stop him from continuing the transfer of knowledge. In fact, his next action did the exact opposite.

In that moment, burning with fury, he dumped a massive flood of chaotic, disordered information straight into Isaha's mind.

Bang!

Her insectoid body stiffened as it failed to withstand the torrent of data. Bit by bit, she froze—then collapsed helplessly onto the pristine white tiles.

She was dead.

Her consciousness shattered from the overload.

And after delivering the fatal blow, Vassago's will stared deeply at the skies above—as if locking eyes with Luo Shu, the one overlooking him from within the divine realm.

It was as though Vassago wanted to initiate a divine battle between gods—a confrontation between the Elder God of this domain and himself.

But Luo Shu had already noticed something else—Vassago was secretly trying to sever his connection with his main body and force himself into a dormant state.

This so-called final struggle… was nothing more than camouflage. It was just a lizard severing its tail to escape.

Realizing this, Luo Shu's lips curved into a slight smile. Instead of stopping Vassago from disconnecting, he fully cooperated—mobilizing the divine realm's power to proactively cut off any link, refusing to let Vassago transmit even a sliver of information back to his core.

Though Luo Shu was clumsy and unskilled in operating the divine realm's powers, the space responded as if echoing his intent—executing his commands flawlessly.

Vassago, who had been trying to retreat in secret, abruptly faltered, and his will was plunged into unconsciousness in an instant.

A formless wind began to stir gently within the space. At its center, a blue diamond-shaped gemstone silently formed, then sank into a subspace that Luo Shu had reconfigured.

After everything was finished, Luo Shu glanced at Tsubakihara Mira, who was eyeing Isaha's corpse warily, and said quietly:

"It's over now."

Moments earlier, Mira had been frozen in alarm, watching Isaha's insect body suddenly collapse without any further movement. Hearing that familiar voice now, she finally relaxed and softly asked:

"What just happened? That last thing Isaha said—it gave me a really bad feeling."

Mira still remembered that final chant—cryptic and ominous, yet somehow filled with sacred gravitas. She couldn't shake the sense that it had been something very dangerous.

"Heh," Luo Shu chuckled lightly, feigning calm. "She was trying to summon a demon—but what she didn't know was that the demon she tried to summon had no intention of answering her call."

"In fact, that summoned demon got suppressed by me as well."

To keep things simple and ease her worries, Luo Shu didn't explain that Isaha had attempted to summon an actual Demon God. He simply called it a "demon" and stated that it had been subdued.

Although… come to think of it, Demon Gods probably are a kind of demon, right?

Mira nodded in understanding, though she found herself musing internally: Luo Shu's tone feels different somehow… more confident, even commanding.

She shook her head slightly to clear her thoughts, then looked down at the insect-like corpse on the ground and asked:

"This bug-like thing…"

Before she could finish, Luo Shu's gentle voice echoed directly in her mind:

"Consider it a collector's item. Maybe you can use it to craft some artifacts."

"In its current state, it's essentially a mindless demon. If you can figure out the method, you might be able to harness its power and cast some abilities through it."

"Whether you can figure it out or not—treat it as part of your training."

"I understand," Mira replied, comprehension dawning in her voice. After a short pause, she added warmly, "…You saved me again, Luo Shu."

At her words, Luo Shu paused slightly and gave her a thoughtful look. Then he replied:

"Wait for my return."

As his voice faded, Mira could clearly sense that Luo Shu's presence had already departed.

Yet she felt no disappointment. Instead, she found herself curiously examining the crystalline, transparent insect body glistening on the floor like a polished gemstone.

She glanced toward the nearby lab table, her eyes gleaming with quiet intrigue as she murmured:

"The corpse of a demon, huh…"
