Chapter 422 - 422 “Saint Mother” Carmel

Under normal circumstances, Charlotte Linlin was still quite perceptive, especially when it involved Sister Carmel, whom she valued deeply.

So when Sherwin gaze lingered on that photograph for just a little too long, she noticed it.

"What? Do you have some opinion about our Saint Mother?"

The originally smiling BIG·MOM instantly darkened, a fierce glint flashing in her eyes as she looked at Sherwin, while her Haoshoku burst forth at once, pressing down on him…

Even though she already knew that Sherwin was not afraid of this.

"No, I just… seem to have seen this person somewhere before."

Sherwin lightly tapped his temple with his index finger, putting on an expression of serious recollection.

"What?! You've seen the Saint Mother?!"

BIG·MOM sprang to her feet in excitement. "Tell me quickly! Where is she?!"

"Uh… I've only seen photographs. If I remember correctly, her name should be Carmel?"

Although he really wanted to try out that suicidal thought lurking in his heart, the ever-steady Hunter still suppressed the urge and casually brushed it off.

"It said that she once saved the Giant Warrior Pirates, who were about to be executed by the World Government, and thus earned the gratitude and respect of the Giant race, becoming a bridge of communication between the two sides. But later, for some unknown reason, she suddenly disappeared…"

Sherwin thought for a moment, wondering if he could stir up a bit of trouble for the World Government so they wouldn't spend every day scheming against him, and added,

"If you want to look into her whereabouts, perhaps the Giant race might know something?"

Having already completely offended the Giant race, BIG·MOM obviously couldn't get any answers from them.

Moreover, because of her childhood experiences, she also couldn't bring herself to use force against the Giants.

So if she truly wanted to inquire about Sister Carmel whereabouts, her only option would be to find a way through the World Government or the Navy.

And now there was also Stussy present, so the World Government could learn of this information in advance as well.

As for what choice BIG·MOM would make afterward, and whether the World Government would use this to scheme against her, that was none of Sherwin concern…

He, the Hunter, was only responsible for fanning the flames!

"So the Saint Mother also had ties with the World Government?"

After listening to Sherwin answer, BIG·MOM reacted exactly as he had expected, noticing another "informed party."

By the time she came into contact with Sister Carmel, it had already been many years since Carmel had been putting on an act in cooperation with the World Government.

Naturally, BIG·MOM knew nothing about what happened back then, and she seemed never to have considered probing into the other party past experiences either…

Although it sounded absurd—after all, given how much BIG·MOM valued Sister Carmel, it seemed impossible that she wouldn't have searched for her whereabouts—this kind of reaction was actually very pirate-like, and also quite in line with her own personality.

Just at this moment, a guest nearby suddenly spoke up, "The Giant Warrior Pirates? Weren't they a pirate crew from over a hundred years ago? Even if you did find out where this Saint Mother went, she should've died of old age long ago, right?"

Sherwin turned his head to look over, his eyes filled with admiration…

He had already deliberately ignored this issue, yet he hadn't expected there to be a "brave soul" who dared to poke at BIG·MOM reverse scale.

In fact, it wasn't just Sherwin. Most of the people at the tea party—including the Homies—stared at this "warrior" in shock.

Several guests seated beside him quickly retreated to the side, afraid of getting splattered with blood.

"Hm? Why are you all… ughhhhh—"

This fellow, whose brain was clearly not very sharp, hadn't even managed to figure out what he had said wrong before he was knocked unconscious by BIG·MOM Haoshoku.

"Mama, dealing with this kind of person can wait until anytime. It better not to ruin the other guest enjoyment right now."

Perospero spoke as he tried to dissuade BIG·MOM, who was about to personally step in and kill the idiot, while at the same time waving for the nearby Homies to drag him away.

BIG·MOM, who hadn't entered her hunger pangs state, was still barely open to reason.

Coupled with the fact that she had just heard some new information about Sister Carmel from Sherwin, her mood was actually fairly good. After a brief silence, she quickly put her smile back on her face.

"Ma ma ma ma ma! There was just a tiny accident. Everyone, please continue to enjoy everything here!"

Seeing BIG MOM mood improve, the tea party immediately became lively again. As for that so-called "warrior" just now, aside from Shirahoshi feeling a trace of pity, no one present had any sympathy for him at all.

"I really didn't expect it, Sherwin, that you'd even know about things from so many years ago. Could you tell big sister where you saw it?"

Stussy, acting as a CP agent, quickly approached with a wine glass in hand and began probing Sherwin.

"I told him," Robin calmly stepped in between the two of them. "I am a historian, after all. It was only something from a little over a hundred years ago. It wouldn't be strange for me to know it, would it?"

Uh… actually, I was going to say that I'd once met the Blue Ogre and the Red Ogre…

Sherwin looked at the suddenly close Robin and felt a little dazed. Even though he didn't quite understand why she had jumped out to take the blame for him, he still silently swallowed the excuse he had prepared.

He seemed not to have mentioned to Robin yet that Stussy was actually a CP agent. For her to step in at this moment…

It couldn't be that she was jealous, right?

To say that Sherwin had absolutely no thoughts about a great beauty like Robin would definitely be a lie.

But aside from occasionally handing out "benefits" to him like in the manga, she had never shown any ambiguous attitude.

On top of that, she bore the heavy responsibility of Ohara final wish. So Sherwin had only been restless for a short while when she first joined after that, he stopped thinking in that direction.

Sherwin scratched his head and didn't feel particularly excited just because of Robin slightly unusual behavior…

With that whole bunch of little basins on the Doodoo ship, even if something really did happen between them, it wouldn't be convenient to do anything.

And even if nothing happened, he could still see the benefits Robin usually handed out anyway. When you really thought about it, there wasn't that much of a difference.

Besides, given the overall environment of the pirate world and what Robin carried on her shoulders, she probably didn't have much thought to spare for romance.

If it were just about satisfying desires, with Sherwin current reputation, it would be extremely easy to find ten or eight non-story characters whose looks didn't lose out to Robin at all.

However, as a transmigrator who had already gone through quite a few relationships back on Earth, even if he couldn't be said to have sealed his heart with cement, women weren't necessarily more appealing to Sherwin than petting cats.

There was also another rather crucial reason…

Sherwin current physical age was still quite young. There was no need to rush such matters at all—going with the flow was just fine.

Just as Sherwin thoughts drifted slightly because of Robin behavior, Morgans, whose Stussy identity had already been revealed to by Sherwin, also moved over.

"Hahahahaha! Sherwin, you little brat, that not very decent of you! You had this kind of information and didn't even tell me!"

"Uh… I didn't know you needed it," Sherwin shrugged after coming back to his senses. "Before this, I just treated it as a story."

Well, before Sherwin transmigrated, to him it really had just been a story from a manga, so he wasn't lying.

After chatting idly with Morgans for a couple of lines, Sherwin attention was quickly drawn to Du Feld at the side…

Because he had already begun introducing Caesar to BIG MOM.
