Carl arrived immediately after discovering who had killed Ben Parker.
Then, using the Power of Time, he brought the man back to life.
Ben Parker had been restored to his state ten minutes before his death
which meant he had no idea he'd already died once.
But Peter Parker knew.
He had seen it with his own eyes
his uncle lying motionless, lifeless on the ground.
And now, he also understood something else:
his uncle had come back to life,
most likely because Mr. Superman had saved him.
Earlier
Carl's words still echoed clearly in Peter's mind.
Peter didn't understand how Carl had done it,
but the moment Superman spoke,
Uncle Ben stood up—completely healed.
No wounds.
No blood.
Not even a single stain left on his clothes.
Peter didn't need anyone to tell him; he already knew
his uncle had been saved by Superman.
Otherwise,
how could a man who'd just been shot and dying
suddenly stand up like nothing had happened?
Thinking that, Peter bowed deeply to Carl.
『Peter Parker』: "Thank you so much, Mr. Superman. Thank you for saving my uncle."
Carl nodded lightly.
『Carl』: "You're welcome."
Beside them, Ben Parker looked on in total confusion.
What… was going on?
Mr. Superman saved me?
Why don't I remember any of this?
Seeing Peter rise, Ben frowned in curiosity.
『Ben Parker』: "Peter, what did you just mean by that?
Did Mr. Superman… save me?"
Peter blinked, surprised.
『Peter Parker』: "Huh? Of course he did…"
『Ben Parker』: "But… I don't remember anything."
『Peter Parker』: "How could you not? I was nearby when I heard the gunshot.
When I ran over, you were already lying on the ground—bleeding everywhere."
He pointed to a spot nearby.
『Peter Parker』: "There was blood all over you. Even the ground was covered."
Ben glanced at where Peter pointed.
There was no blood there now—none at all.
『Ben Parker』: "There's no blood here."
『Peter Parker』: "There was! I swear, I was terrified. If not for Mr. Superman, you'd have…"
He trailed off, then added quickly,
"If you don't believe me, ask him yourself."
Ben turned toward Carl.
『Carl』: "He's telling the truth."
『Ben Parker』: "But… I really don't remember any of that."
Ben scratched his head, his confusion deepening.
Peter might have been joking, sure
but Superman? Superman wouldn't lie.
And yet… he still remembered nothing.
Carl explained calmly:
『Carl』: "That's because you died just a short while ago.
A robber's bullet hit and killed you.
I used my time ability to return you to your state from ten minutes before your death.
That's why you don't have any wounds—or blood on your clothes.
And of course, you have no memory of being shot,
because the current you hasn't experienced it yet."
『Ben Parker』: "…?"
Ben's face went blank.
Clearly, he didn't quite follow Carl's logic.
Meanwhile, Peter suddenly shouted, eyes wide.
『Peter Parker』: "Oh my God!
You can reverse time, Mr. Superman?"
He'd finally understood what Carl meant
but the idea was so shocking, so unbelievable,
he could hardly process it.
He had never heard that Superman possessed such an ability.
Carl simply nodded.
『Carl』: "Of course. You see—your uncle's alive, isn't he?"
Peter gasped, then broke into a smile.
『Peter Parker』: "That's… that's true."
He bowed once more, full of gratitude.
『Peter Parker』: "Thank you so much, Mr. Superman."
『Ben Parker』: "Yes, thank you as well."
At first Ben hadn't understood Carl's explanation,
but after thinking it through for a moment,
he pieced it together
Superman had saved his life.
As the one rescued, Ben naturally had to express his thanks.
Carl nodded.
『Carl』: "No need to thank me."
Then, his tone shifted slightly.
『Carl』: "By the way, I've already found the robber who shot you."
『Peter Parker』: "Really!?"
Peter's eyes lit up.
A storm of emotions surged within him
the grief, the rage, the helplessness from moments earlier.
Uncle Ben wasn't just his uncle;
he was the man who had raised him, guided him,
the closest thing to a father Peter had ever known.
And now, after being bitten by that spider,
Peter possessed incredible new strength.
The thought of confronting that murderer himself
filled him with burning anger.
『Peter Parker』: "Mr. Superman, please—bring that robber here!"
『Ben Parker』 frowned slightly.
『Ben Parker』: "If he's an armed robber, then he's dangerous.
Please, catch him and hand him over to the police."
As a kind-hearted man,
Ben wasn't thinking about vengeance at all.
He simply feared such a criminal might harm others
if not stopped soon.
Carl nodded.
『Carl』: "Understood."
He raised a hand.
A faint ripple in the air spread outward
then, with a flash of distorted light,
another figure suddenly appeared before them.
A long-haired man wearing sunglasses and a black jacket
his expression bewildered, his eyes darting around.
『Robber』: "Wh—what the hell? Wasn't I just in an alley?"
He looked around again, even more confused.
The surroundings matched a place he remembered
the street where he'd shot that old man.
Recognition dawned on him.
His face went pale.
『Robber』: "You… you're not dead!?"
He stared at Ben Parker in disbelief.
He remembered pulling the trigger,
watching the old man collapse, motionless.
Yet here Ben stood, perfectly fine.
『Ben Parker』 frowned.
『Ben Parker』: "You… you shot me?"
『Robber』: "Of course I did!"
He pulled a pistol from his jacket pocket,
aiming it straight at Ben again.
『Robber』: "I don't know what kind of trick this is
but I'll just kill you again!"
He was about to fire
but then he froze.
Because standing beside Ben was a man he recognized instantly.
『Robber』: "Su—Superman!?"
His blood ran cold.
He'd seen Superman on the news countless times
fighting Hulk, battling Abomination,
standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Iron Man.
Superman was real.
And he was terrifying.
And now… he was standing right in front of him.
The robber's entire body trembled.
For a hardened criminal,
there was nothing more horrifying
than being caught by a superhero.
