Chapter 194 - Chapter 194: The Unexpected Curiosity of Horest

After chatting in the group for a while, Carl logged out.

When his senses returned, he found himself back in Jang Man-wol's dormitory.

She was still resting.

After all, Carl's trip to the world of the Valkyries had taken less than an hour.

The Ragnarok duels themselves hadn't taken much time either.

Lü Bu versus Thor lasted barely twenty minutes.

Adam against Zeus—just over seven minutes, not even as long as a halftime break.

Carl's battle with Poseidon was shorter still.

And the resolution of the other gods didn't take much longer either.

All combined, the entire affair hadn't even lasted a full hour.

So naturally, Jang Man-wol hadn't yet woken from her rest.

Carl glanced at her, then walked toward the bathroom.

Though he had already washed up before heading out on his mission, after all that exertion he felt like freshening up again.

He stripped off his Superman battle suit and tossed it onto the sofa.

Suddenly, a dazzling green light flared across the room.

What's this?

Could it be someone had come knocking, courting death?

Carl arched a brow, ready to take care of whatever had appeared.

Then—

From within the green light, the Superman suit began to shift and transform.

Gradually, a figure emerged.

A young woman with soft features and flowing violet hair, her form graceful and her expression warm, now stood before him.

The second of the thirteen Valkyrie sisters—Horest.

She bowed slightly toward Carl. "Mr. Carl."

Carl nodded. "Hello."

So it was her.

He had nearly forgotten about Horest.

After defeating Poseidon and the other gods, Carl had simply returned home, paying no mind to what changes the suit might have undergone.

Now, seeing her again, the memory surfaced.

Back before he had stepped onto the battlefield, he had performed a Divine Weapon Manifestation with Horest.

She had become his Superman suit.

During the mission, he had never removed the armor, and upon returning, had simply carried her back with him unknowingly.

Carl casually pulled another Superman battle suit from his subspace and slipped it on.

The previous one, which had fused with Horest, had been left bound within his personal storage dimension—along with some everyday necessities.

Horest's curious eyes roamed around the room. "Unbelievable…"

"Is this your home, Mr. Carl?"

Because of their Divine Weapon Manifestation, she felt a natural closeness to him. Carl felt the same.

So, she asked freely.

Carl replied, "Hmm… not exactly, but it doesn't make much difference."

Strictly speaking, the place was a dormitory provided by Man-wol's agency.

But if Carl wanted, he could buy it outright anytime.

Unless the landlord had a grudge against money, there'd be no issue.

"What a charming style," Horest remarked with a gentle smile.

Though Man-wol wasn't the company's top star, her long-term contract and good revenue had earned her a well-appointed dorm.

The interior was sleek and refined.

Two bedrooms and a living room—perhaps small, but more than enough for one person.

The agency had chosen wisely: the décor was stylish and elegant, giving off a high-class impression.

Horest's own dwelling in Valhalla had been luxurious as well, though in an entirely different style.

Seeing such clean, modern simplicity, she found herself liking it.

Her violet eyes sparkled as she looked around, brimming with curiosity.

Carl gave her a glance and asked, "Shall I send you back?"

Since it was he who had brought her here, it was only natural for him to return her. For Carl, it would be no trouble at all.

"Back…? Let's wait a bit."

Instead, Horest asked, "Mr. Carl, where exactly is your home? This place is so interesting—very different from where I live."

Her curiosity was genuine.

By rights, the Divine Weapon Manifestation should have let her understand much about Carl. Yet strangely, she didn't know all that much.

She remembered overhearing his conversation with Brunhilde—he had mentioned coming home.

And considering the overwhelming power Carl had displayed in slaying the gods, she assumed he had simply returned at incredible speed.

"A big difference?"

Carl chuckled. "Yes. This is another world altogether."

"Another… world?" Horest's eyes widened. "You mean this is truly a different world?"

"That's right."

"How astonishing…"

Though surprised, she was a Valkyrie. After witnessing Carl's power, she could accept even this.

After a moment's thought, she said, "I'd like to see outside. Could you accompany me, Mr. Carl?"

Carl nodded. "Of course. Just give me a moment to change."

"Alright."

Carl went to the other room and changed into casual wear.

Then, together, they stepped out into the night.

It was past ten o'clock, but in Seoul, nightlife was only beginning.

As the capital of Goryeo and a city of global renown, the streets still bustled with energy.

Carl and Horest, striking as they were, drew many admiring glances.

Partly it was their looks—handsome man, beautiful woman.

But part of it was Horest's attire.

Her garments, belonging to another world, were ornate by local standards.

Not overly ostentatious, but certainly unusual.

Yet, since Valkyries were half-human, her appearance didn't seem impossible to explain.

With cosplay so popular these days, passersby assumed she was cosplaying a character.

They stared in curiosity, murmured about how attractive the pair was, and moved on.

None could imagine she was a true Valkyrie.

As they passed a Korean barbecue restaurant, Horest stopped before the glass wall, intrigued.

The savory aroma drifting from within was mouthwatering.

Carl noticed her gaze. "Want to try it?"

Horest quickly shook her head. "No, no need."

"Let's go in," Carl said. "I'm hungry anyway."

Without waiting for her reply, he stepped into the restaurant.

It wasn't a large place, but it was clean and welcoming.

"…,"

Seeing no choice, Horest followed him inside.
