"What the hell are you doing? What's your purpose?"
What? What does he mean by that?
"My purpose? What do you mean, Mr. Leo?"
Leo rubbed his forehead and let out a long sigh.
"Nothing. I'm just tired. You can go back to work."
Nothing? Nothing?!
I smiled faintly and nodded before leaving his office. What did he mean by purpose? Does he know something?
I grabbed my phone and typed into the group chat with Juno and Max.
{Tell me, Jun. Has there been any weird system or virus in my phone lately?}
{Nope. Why?}
{Nothing. It's just... Leonardo's acting like he's hiding something.}
I glanced at Leo through the large glass partition separating our offices, then back at my phone.
{Leo has a secret room. Even his housekeeper doesn't know about it, and she's worked with him since he was a kid.}
{Whoa, mysterious man alert. You gotta sneak in, Val.}
{Yeah Val, I bet that room's full of Leo's dark hobbies.}
{Dark hobbies? Like what, Max? Exotic animals?}
{Ugh, you're so old-fashioned, Juno. I mean his sexual interest. Guys like him are always rough and dominant.}
{If that's true, then I'm not going anywhere near that room.}
I couldn't help but smile to myself reading their nonsense.
"Ahem."
I looked up, startled, Nathan was standing right in front of me.
"Ah, good afternoon, Mr. Nathaniel. Can I help you? Are you here to see Mr. Leo?"
Nathan laughed softly, and I instinctively raised a brow.
"Oh, God, Emily. You're really something. We're in-laws now, no need to be so formal. And what's this, Mr. Leo? That's how you address your husband?"
I didn't respond. Nathan leaned closer, his breath brushing my ear.
"If you were my wife, I wouldn't make you work like this. God knows how many filthy mouths are talking about you right now."
I smiled faintly. "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Nathan. Would you like to come in? Mr. Leo's not in any meeting right now."
Nathan studied my face for a moment before smirking.
God, I hate that smile.
"No worries, sister-in-law. I'll let myself in. Oh, and don't stand too long, I'd hate for something to happen to that baby of yours."
He turned and walked straight into Leo's office.
Shit. I totally forgot I'm supposed to be pregnant.
Is that why Sebastian looked so worried earlier? Because he was afraid I stressed too much. It will affect the baby.

Leo's POV
"Hey, brother."
I didn't need to look up to recognize that annoying voice.
"Wow. Marriage has made you even colder than usual," he said, plopping down in the chair across from me.
"At least you look decent now. A tie, really? That's rare."
I ignored him, eyes fixed on the documents in front of me.
"You know, Leo, I used to doubt your marriage. I still think it's not based on love."
I sighed and finally met his gaze. "What do you want, Nathan?"
"Ha! There it is, he speaks!" Nathan clapped his hands as if he'd just discovered something.
"I'm just worried about Emily, you know? She could get hurt if she stays around you too long. And a cruel man like you will never love or be loved."
He leaned forward, expression darkening.
"You do realize she'll leave you eventually, right? Don't get too happy, Leo. I don't like it."
Psychopath.
"I don't have time for your bullshit. Get out of my office," I muttered, flipping another page.
"Are you even sure she's pregnant? Have you seen the ultrasound?"
My hand froze mid-air.
Nathan laughed, and I turned to him sharply.
"Okay, fine, I'll admit it."
Admit what?
"I was the one who staged that night. I'm the one who put that used condom in the room. I made it look messy. Have you even checked if it was yours?"
My jaw tightened.
"You were both drunk, passed out cold, I'm sure nothing happened. You know how I enjoy a little chaos," he said, leaning back lazily.
Right. I don't remember a damn thing from that night.
And I never even thought to test the condom.
I didn't even go with Emily for her ultrasound. Damn it.
Nathan sighed dramatically. "God, brother. I really do care about you. I just don't want you to be manipulated by some crazy woman."
He patted my shoulder and strolled out of the room.
I grabbed my phone immediately.
"Sebastian. I need your help."
~~~~~
Leo's POV
"Why a forensic expert?" Sebastian asked as we walked side by side.
"I need to confirm something."
"Uh... Leo, you're not…you didn't, like, hide a corpse or something, right?"
Sebastian slowed his steps, now trailing behind me.
Ugh. Idiot.
"Hey, Leo. You gotta tell me what this is about or I'm not helping."
I exhaled and turned around.
"Nathan said something that made me think."
"Seriously? You're trusting that psycho now?"
"No. It just... makes sense."
Sebastian paused. "What's this about?"
I ran a hand through my hair, frustrated.
"Emily. I'm starting to think she's faking her pregnancy."
"What? You sure? Emily doesn't seem like someone who would—"
He cut himself off.
"What?"
Sebastian shook his head. "Nothing."
"What the hell, do you know something I don't?"
"Chill, man. It's nothing. Anyway, if you're that suspicious, I'll help. I mean, maybe Emily's not as innocent as she looks."
I froze.
Seriously, what did Emily ever do to make even Sebastian think that?
"Whatever. I just need your help."
"Sure. Oh, there he is." Sebastian pointed behind me.
A man in his forties approached us.
"You must be Leonardo Rhys. An honor to meet the heir of such a great man," he said, extending his hand.
I shook it. "Right, I'm Leonardo. You must be Theo, the forensic guy?"
"Yes, that's me," he grinned.
"My friend here needs to investigate something confidential. Can you handle that?" Sebastian asked.
"Of course. I've been in the dark business for quite some time," Theo said with a whisper.
"I even have my own lab."
I nodded. Whispering made it sound shady as hell, but whatever. I needed answers.
"I need you to test a DNA sample from a condom. Can you do that?"
"Sure. Do you have a sample?"
Damn. I got too ahead of myself.
"Well... not yet. But is it possible to test something that's, say, three months old?"
Theo and Sebastian exchanged a look.
"I mean, yeah, as long as it was stored properly and not contaminated. It'll be tough, but I'll try," Theo said, patting my shoulder.
I nodded.
Now the real question, how the hell do I get that thing back?
Tring! Tring! Tring!
My phone suddenly rang.
"Hello, is this Mr. Leonardo Rhys?"
"Yes, speaking. Who is this?"
"This is Saint Mary Hospital. We're calling to inform you that a patient named Emily Hart
Rhys is currently under treatment. Are you her husband?"
"Hospital…?"
