After the meal, Fenja stayed with the children because she had nothing better to do. More so, keeping them company helped her feel better. She had some people to talk to.
Based on what Fenja learned, these children were being snatched from the streets when they were playing outside, and most of them came from a poor background.
Even the human children came from a family of workers in one of the factories here. They told Fenja what they had seen and what happened to those poor children who died in that room.
It was hard to ask them about it, but once one of them talked, the other chimed in as well.
"I want my mommy." The youngest girl started crying when she told Fenja that they had cut open the stomach of one of the children named Abby. "She told me her tummy hurt, and then they took her away."
"They took her away?" Fenja frowned.
"Yes." She nodded and talked again through her tears. "They said they would take Abby home."
