Chapter 250: I Want a Disciple
The competition at Seren Tenshin Academy heated up. The strongest students fought each other, dwindling in numbers.
The students at Seren Tenshin Academy were now the elite, arguably the top of the school.
Seria stood in the center of the field, surrounded by the defeated students watching the battle.
Each of them was a loser. Seria stood in the center of the field.
A small voice spoke up, "Seria is very strong. If it weren't for the sixth-year seniors, they wouldn't have been able to beat him."
"Isn't this bad? You're saying that the first-years are the strongest in the school?"
"This looks bad. This is where that senior has to take care of it."
The seniors were all anxious, as if it were acknowledging that the first-years were the strongest in the school when it comes to fighting.
Seria stood with arms outstretched, a smile of deep satisfaction.
"Now, respected senior, look! The best genius in this class is me, Seria!"
Seria announced confidently, waiting for the applause.
The seniors' eyes flashed with anger, cursing them to hurry and lose.
At the Potions Competition, Seraph sat in the Potions Room.
The sign still read, "Waiting."
Seraph sat in the green room, his mind full of questions.
Seraph remained calm. "So, what should I do? The Headmaster's orders, too...?"
Seraph thought back to the past and thought, "Wait a minute. The Headmaster's orders...
Oh, maybe he's new, or maybe there was a misunderstanding. So, I better follow the instructions. Don't do anything unnecessary."
Time passed, and Seraph's next order arrived.
Seraph read the sign in front of him: "Take the medicine in the cauldron to pass the competition."
Seraph followed. A green light sent Seraph out of the alchemy room.
Seraph appeared, all eyes on Seraph.
Seraph looked around and then at Old Qingchuan.
He saw the senior students being explained how to make medicine.
Seraph walked towards Old Qingchuan.
The person standing there listening to Old Qingchuan's explanation was Deny, who wanted to challenge Seraph.
Deny walked away, having been explained for so long, "W-what? Longer than before?"
Deny moved away and stood close to Old Qingchuan, looking at Seraph, who wanted to challenge him to a medicine-making competition.
Seraph walked up to Old Qingchuan and unhurriedly handed him a pill.
Deni took a deep breath. [The first time might have been lucky, but this time, there's definitely going to be a mistake.]
The students were talking.
"Look! Seraph went to test Teacher Qingchuan again."
"Heh, the first time might have been lucky, but this time, it's definitely not."
"He's just a first-year student. To have made it this far is already impressive."
"Where did you get the confidence to go and find this teacher?"
Teacher Camila looked at Seraph, deeply interested in him.
"One of the three students in the special class, Sinon and Seria, has displayed abilities that can be said to be suitable for the special class.
What kind of abilities are they going to show?"
Seraph watched as the old man Qingchuan examined the pill in front of him. It was a crystal blue, like the water at the edge of the sea, with a bright, fresh feeling.
Qingchuan picked up the pill and examined it.
Qingchuan was extremely shocked and turned to look at Seraph. "Seraph, little boy, are you interested in becoming my disciple?" "
"What!?"
Dani's mouth hung open, unable to believe what he had just heard.
"Did I hear wrongly?"
The students were chattering away, just as shocked as Deny.
"Huh? Did I hear wrongly?"
"Seriously? What is this thing?"
"What? You want a disciple?"
"You're crazy! Teacher Qingchuan wants a freshman as your disciple?"
The students' commotion grew louder and louder.
Seraph heard the question, "Disciple?"
[So you're not a student at Serenity High School yet?]
Qingchuan placed the pill on the table.
"I've used it. I'm looking for an assistant. Are you interested?"
Seraph thought as he saw Qingchuan placing the pill on the table.
[An assistant? What should I do?... ]
Seraph was silent.
Qing Chuan continued, "I can help you. I will definitely improve you. What do you say?
Studying at this school requires help. If you don't want to study a subject, can you come and study with me?"
Seraph made a thoughtful gesture. The students waited intently for Seraph's answer, wondering whether to accept or reject it.
"I have to decline. It truly is beyond my capabilities.
"Then it's an honor that you want me."
Qingchuan was stunned for a moment by his refusal.
"Would you mind reconsidering? I can be of great help to you. Come and be my disciple."
Seraph bowed his head in earnest, apologizing.
Seeing that Seraph was about to refuse, Deny spoke up.
"Even though you don't like it, I suggest you study with Master Qingchuan.
You have talent in this area. I guarantee that Master Qingchuan is the best alchemist. He's perfect for you."
Deny smiled slyly to himself. [Heh heh. If Master Qingchuan starts teaching, I guarantee you won't be able to go home.
Heh heh, even during the competition. I can't imagine what it would be like if I were to become your disciple. Heh heh...]
"I'm truly sorry. I already have a master who wants to be my disciple!"
[Why would I want to be your disciple? I've already started the exchange. I thought about quitting the competition and losing.
But because of the Headmaster's orders, I ended up cheating in the alchemy competition.
I had to agree to participate. But from now on, that's not the case. It's been suspicious ever since I passed the competition.
Plus, if I accept it, there's bound to be problems.
I'm not the creator. This master wants someone to create this pill.
But it's not me, so it's a suitable choice. I shouldn't accept it.]
"I'm sorry. I'm not ready yet."
Qing Chuan was extremely suspicious.
"If you don't want it, I won't force you. Who is your master?"
Seraph looked up. "It's Master Chang Wing. He's the master I've always admired."
The students' gazes turned to Master Chang Wing, shocked by the numerous stares directed at him.
"Huh? "
Chang Wing was extremely confused. [Seraph, are you interested in me taking you on as a disciple? ]
Seraph turned to look at Chang Wing and bowed his head in greeting.
[He happened to see his homeroom teacher nearby, so he could at least help out a little.
Aside from Teacher Chang Wing, no one else would have thought of helping.
He's the teacher in charge of the special class, so I'll just say no.]
Chang Wing nodded to Seraph and examined the next student's seed.
Qing Chuan handed Seraph a green star. "This is your star. I wish you victory. If you're interested or have any questions,
come ask me. I'll be happy to help you fix it."
Seraph thanked him and walked away with a green star, walking towards the line.
Beside Seraph, Deni followed Seraph closely.
"You should accept the offer. Teacher Qing Chuan is capable, so I recommend it."
Seraph sighed. Inside, the pupils' eyes were all focused on Seraph.
[Who is this guy? From my memory, I feel like I've seen him somewhere before. Where?" ]
"Thank you for your advice, senior. I wish you victory in the competition."
Seraph bowed slightly to Deni, greeting him and cheering him on.
Denichi came out. "This guy is a real troublemaker. Do you want to start a fight with me now? Right here, right now?"
Denichi thought it was a taunt from Seraph.
Seraph suddenly remembered. [I forgot. I'm a weakling at concocting potions, but because of that damn pill, I'm considered a genius. Sigh…
Whatever happens, happens.]
"No, then. I'll be taking my leave."
Seraph bowed to Deni and walked away.
Denichi tilted his head, curious about Seraph's direction.
He saw Seraph walking towards the exit. "Where are you going, Seraph?"
Seraph walked away, pretending he hadn't heard him, heading out of the competition.
[Of course he did. How could he give up his right to compete? The competition should have ended long ago.
But because the notice board was posted like that, why would he interfere in the chaos?]
Seraph walked along the path that was open for Seraph to walk through.
Daniel thought hard, not understanding Seraph's thoughts.
"What do you mean? What is he trying to do? Don't you understand?"
Daniel continued to stand in line, waiting for the next round.
His gaze sent Seraph off.
The losing students stood there in complete silence.
They couldn't understand Seraph's actions as he walked away from the competition.
