Chapter 2 - The riders

Light drizzle showered the earth as the cloak of night fell.

The hooves of horses could be heard as they galloped into the darkness. Their riders clothe in dark silhouette. Their armors glistened in the dark, as the drizzle washed off the blood on their blades.

They were a bit far away from the village when they heard—

Boom!!!

The earth beneath their foot shook. Their gaze all turned towards the village. They held their breaths as their eyes scanned their surroundings.

Thud!!!

Thud!!!

Foot steps echoed from behind them. The riders turned to face the person that owned them.

Dressed in dark armor and no helmet, the rider walked to the front of the group.

His gaze pierced into the darkness as he noticed a little crackle streak up into the sky.

"Arthur?" The rider spoke in hoarse voice. His breath cold as ice.

"Did you make sure to kill everyone?"

A rider then hurriedly walked up and stood beside the commander.

Arthur wasn't as buff as the commander but his presence was imposing still.

His armor glistened, his face covered by a helm.

His cold gaze set on the village behind them.

"I personally watched them all impaled" Arthur spoke.

"I see, then what is this presence I sense?" The commander said .

Arthur's breathe tightened, his fist clenched.

"I'll make sure to take care of it" Arthur spoke as he began to move forward.

"There will be no need for that. It's coming to us" the commandar's face turned darker.

As the words of the commander had landed, there was a crackle in the sky.

A Lightning streaked across the sky and landed before them with deafening roar.

Boom!!!

The earth shook once more and the forest lit. Before them a man stood, his body engulfed in crackles of blue lightening.

The earth beneath his feet was now scorched, his eyes locked on to every rider within the forest.

Klaus' eyes darted between the riders till his eyes rested on a red scarf. His grandmother's scarf.

From within him something began to rise, he could still hear her soft voice and giggles.

The sound of her laughter echoed in his heart memories of her smile engulfed him. But they were all accompanied by a new feeling. A bitter and empty one. A feeling of knowing he would never see that smile again.

The world began to slow down to him. He watched as all the riders froze. The drizzles hung in the air as though they were little mirror like pearls. With slow steps he began to walk toward the rider with the scarf.

His gaze never left the rider for a second as he approached him.

Klaus then slowly took the scarf off the rider and held it.

Her floral scent crept into his nose and his heart clenched.

Time began to move once more. A dark expression began to unfurl on the rider's face. He could feel the life and blood drained from him as he stared into Klaus' eyes.

The rider tried to jump back and reach for his sword when he noticed something was off.

As he dropped back he noticed he had began to fall and in no time he was on the floor.

But his body stood still. The riders eyes scanned his body and then he noticed something.

His head wasn't on his body anymore and on Klaus' hand was his sword.

And slowly the rider's world began to blur before it completely turned dark.
