Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 27: SEARCHING FOR KAMAR TAJ

A/N: Sorry for the late update have mercy on me

—-

*Year: 2000 – 1985 BC*

*Location: Manang, Nepal*

Manang was covered in snow, and the temperatures were freezing cold.

Monks could be seen studying and practicing spiritual scriptures everywhere. No matter where you went, you could see monks following their strict spiritual routines.

Among them was one monk who was different—black hair, black eyes, and simple monk robes.

He carried an aura of mystery, and this monk was Pluto, under the false identity of Pema.

He was a stranger in search of knowledge, so he met with their teacher—the monastery leader—seeking spiritual guidance, but really in search of Kamar-Taj.

Once again, he was disappointed, but nevertheless, he absorbed all this place had to offer.

Though the knowledge wasn't exactly what he sought, it still proved valuable. It helped him develop his state of mind and awareness.

Ever since he started practicing here, he could feel his mental state increasing.

Although he didn't need it much—since his ability to adapt to any situation always guaranteed a calm head in every circumstance—he still delighted in the joy of learning. He had reached a point where learning and curiosity were never enough.

He always wanted to know what would happen next. Knowing that no matter what he did, he couldn't die, and that he didn't have a love life or anyone to worry about, gave him even more freedom.

He had been here for five years, since leaving the Himalayas in 2005 BC. Since coming here, he had always been calm, quiet, and hungry for more.

He kept everyone at arm's length, never revealing his history. Maybe he decided he would spend his life quietly because he always said he had retired, yet was still destined to become a legend.

Or maybe he had left S.H.I.E.L.D. with little information about himself—no one knew for sure.

But today, he had decided to leave again in search of his purpose: to find Kamar-Taj.

He took his few belongings and met with his teacher—the same man he had met when he first arrived.

The teacher was an old man with a kind face, probably in his seventies or eighties. He had an approachable aura, much like the wise monks in ancient stories.

Despite Pluto's age difference with the man, he greeted him with "Namaste," pressing his two hands together at his chest and bowing slightly.

"Ah, yes, Pema. You seek me?" the teacher said with a warm and welcoming smile.

"Yes, Master. I wanted to tell you that I am leaving."

"Oh, okay. But don't forget you are always welcome here."

"Goodbye, Master," Pluto said as he knelt and bowed.

"One year as a master, a lifetime as a father."

Immediately after leaving the monastery, Pluto felt a pull in his blood—faint, almost negligible, like an ant crawling unnoticed on your skin.

Blood sensing was one of the abilities he had discovered over the years.

Following this faint pull, he made his way to a beggar sitting on the street, wearing tattered clothes and begging for money.

There was no difference between this man and any other beggar—if it weren't for the faint pull, he might not have recognized him as a member of the Timeless Phantom.

He didn't immediately approach him. It felt like no deep conversation was needed.

Instead, he wrote a single word on a piece of paper: *"KAMAR-TAJ."* No extra words were necessary; he believed that when they saw the message, they would understand.

Dipping his hand into his pocket, he brought out a broken pocket watch engraved with an eye—the emblem of the Timeless Phantom.

He placed the note on the watch and quietly left it in the beggar's plate.

Without waiting for a word, he walked away.

*Beggar POV*

Today was just another unremarkable day. I was sent by the council to gather information about a recent cult emerging in the Himalayas called Evolex.

They were made up of people with mental powers, living like monks in seclusion.

Their leader was very mysterious, and most villagers in the Himalayas didn't even know about them.

If it weren't for their advanced technology, we wouldn't have known such a group existed.

For three years, the Timeless Phantom sent members to infiltrate Evolex, but as soon as they entered the Himalayas, they lost contact with the outside world.

After a week, the Timeless Phantom would find their members outside the village, healthy and well.

But when asked about the Himalayas, these members were unable to answer.

This had gone on for some time, until one day Uruk got tired of the game and ordered thirty men, fully equipped with gadgets far ahead of even 21st-century technology, to enter the Himalayas.

As before, communication was lost. A week passed, then two weeks, still nothing.

When the council heard the news, they were furious and wanted to punish Uruk for his rash and unreasonable behavior.

But there was no temporary leader to punish, so he went unpunished, if you don't count the time when he wasn't assigned Pluto's blood.

After a month, the missing members returned, but none could answer questions about the Himalayas.

Since then, the Timeless Phantom never sent anyone to the Himalayas again.

Instead, they sent agents all over Nepal.

Nepal was filled with members of the Timeless Phantom, and I, Tashi, an ordinary member, had the honor of seeing the leader and was recently sent on an errand by him.

---

In the Timeless Phantom, the leader was a legend. Most people had never seen him, but everyone had seen his portrait.

The young man who dropped the watch didn't look like the leader, but the watch itself represented his identity.

I immediately packed my things and began working, sure that once I delivered the note, I would be given the 8th-class blood serum.

The Timeless Phantom diluted Pluto's blood into different classes: 9th, 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st class. Above the 1st class were the Apostles.

All members were injected with 9th-class blood serum to increase strength. To advance classes, you needed points earned by gathering information or completing missions.

Each class had its own power level:

- 9th class: super soldiers with immortality but can be killed

- 8th class: super enhanced, making 9th-class members feel like children

- 7th class: capable of killing Venom with one punch and holding their own against Knull

- 6th class: capable of killing Knull with one punch

- 5th class: a league above 6th, capable of killing Hulk (when not enraged), and gaining powers like flight, mental capabilities, X-ray vision, etc.

- 4th to 3rd class: no major boost in strength, but deeper power and understanding; these ranks don't require Pluto's blood

- 2nd class: super strong, capable of killing an angry Hulk

- 1st class: major leap in strength, capable of killing Thanos without Infinity Stones

- Apostles: infinite potential, initially strong enough to fight Hela

Becoming an Apostle? Haha, it would take millions of years before anyone could reach 1st class, which was already considered the peak.

Except for some lucky people, no one had hope of becoming an Apostle.

Simply because it required Pluto himself to give his blood essence, not just the blood.

With his blood essence coupled with technology, they could make infinite blood—who would waste it on just one person?

Anyway, I had to hurry. The faster I reached, the quicker I would become an 8th-grade member, with five 9th-grade members serving me.

Of course, I wouldn't be able to meet any council member with my position.

I would have to pass my note to my superior—an 8th-grade—who would then pass it up to a 7th, then a 6th, then a 5th, then a 2nd, then a 1st, and finally to an Apostle.

The Apostle would then call a council meeting before opening and seeing what was in the note.
