"I'll… kill… you," Yohan mumbled, pressing down even harder.
He gritted his teeth, veins bulging across his face as rage twisted his expression.
"Sure about that?" Kai Lu asked with a smirk, his bloody teeth exposed.
He twisted his body sideways, forcing Yohan's hands off him, then drove his elbow straight into Yohan's face.
Yohan stumbled to the side—but recovered instantly, pushing himself back to his feet even before Kai Lu fully straightened up.
"Don't take it to heart, Yohan. I'm sure she doesn't mind me killing her. Look here." Kai Lu pointed at the hole in his chest.
The fatal wound beneath his jacket was impossible to miss.
"She tried to kill me earlier too, so I guess you could say we're even now," he said lightly. "If she hadn't missed my heart by just a little, maybe she'd still be alive right now."
He chuckled, his gaze locked onto Yohan.
"Funny thing, right?"
Yohan wiped the blood from his mouth, his sanity flickering back for a brief moment.
