Beibei unleashed two soul skills in succession. Thunder's Wrath could boost the power of his thunder-attribute attacks by at least fifty percent!
Empowered by Thunder's Wrath, Heavenly Thunderbolt formed a massive net of crackling lightning above him and Jiang Shengyu.
"Fall!"
Beibei controlled the thunder net to descend and envelop Jiang Shengyu.
Facing the vast net of blue lightning cascading toward him, Jiang Shengyu remained calm. He exhaled softly, a white mist escaping his lips.
Wind and snow surged up from beneath his feet, swiftly wrapping him in a flurry of icy flakes. Behind him, the Water-Moon Martial Soul manifested, soon encased in ice crystals, transforming into a crescent-shaped Ice Moon.
A layer of frost spread outward from where he stood, quickly covering the arena floor and plunging the surrounding temperature sharply downward.
Even Beibei shivered under the extreme chill. The spatial chains dividing the battlefield froze over as well, turning brittle. Ai Cao had to set the Void Chains into motion, rolling them constantly to mitigate the influence of the Ultimate Ice.
Raising his Twilight Sword horizontally, Jiang Shengyu ran his left hand gently across its blade.
Then, with an upward slash, he shouted: "Radiance Across Ten Thousand Rivers!"
A crescent-shaped sword light burst forth, its power so great that the nearby chains shattered instantly. Ai Cao was forced to retract her spatial chains from that region.
Watching Jiang Shengyu's explosive strength, she couldn't help but exclaim, "The juniors these days really are getting fiercer and fiercer."
The dazzling crescent sword light cleaved through the thunder net in the sky. Jiang Shengyu leapt high, moving even faster than his own sword light!
He landed atop the crescent arc, his toe tapping against it. At once, the white glow of the sword light shattered into countless shards of ice crystals. Under Jiang Shengyu's control, they rained down toward Beibei below.
Seeing this, Beibei's fourth, purple soul ring flared to life. Lightning burst before him as he roared: "Fourth Soul Skill—Thunder Dragon Head!"
A massive dragon's head, more than a meter across, erupted from the lightning in front of him. It roared thunderously, horns jutting proudly, as it charged upward at Jiang Shengyu.
Confronted by the ferocious Thunder Dragon Head, Jiang Shengyu thrust his sword. His body and the surrounding ice crystals turned into a streak of white light as he shot directly at the thunder dragon.
In an instant, the colossal dragon head was cleaved in two by the white sword light. Even the thunder seemed frozen, halting for a split second.
The sight of the dragon being bisected drew the entire audience forward, craning their necks to peer through the mist that now cloaked the battlefield, desperate to see what was happening inside.
So much so that even though Xiao Hongchen was still fighting Jiang Qingtong, and Meng Hongchen was locked in combat with Wang Dong'er, almost no one was paying attention to them.
It wasn't that their battles lacked brilliance—it was simply that Jiang Shengyu exuded an even deeper sense of mystery.
After all, both Xiao and Meng Hongchen's soul rings followed the normal optimal distribution. But among the four soul rings Jiang Shengyu had revealed, only his first was purple—every other one was a black, ten-thousand-year ring!
Such a terrifying configuration was unheard of. Shrek's teachers had always said that no human could possibly endure such a lineup!
When the mist finally cleared, the scene on stage stunned everyone.
The blade of Jiang Shengyu's Twilight Sword hovered just centimeters from Beibei's throat—so close that Beibei could already feel the bone-chilling cold radiating from it.
His clothes were torn open in several places by ice crystals. Some shards had even cut directly into his flesh, though no blood flowed—each wound was frozen shut the instant it was made by the aura of Ultimate Ice.
"Beibei… completely powerless?"
The elders in the stands were taken aback. After all, Beibei had inherited Mu En's legacy—that of an Ultimate Douluo! Yet even with such a legacy, did he truly have no means to resist Jiang Shengyu?
In the rear of the arena, Ning Tian's heart trembled as she watched. Is this person from the Sun–Moon Empire truly this strong? That's Beibei—the strongest among the outer court students!
"Your martial soul may be evolving, but it has only just begun to touch upon the light attribute. You're still far from a true Radiant Holy Dragon."
Jiang Shengyu looked at Beibei, whose throat was pinned by his blade, and spoke evenly: "Shall we call it here?"
Beibei's right hand flared with lightning, knocking aside the Twilight Sword. His voice was low and firm:
"Who wants to hold back against you? I'll defeat you!"
Tang Ya's departure, Mu En's death, the failure at the Soul Master Tournament, and the burden of carrying Shrek's future—all of it weighed on Beibei's shoulders, pushing him toward obsession.
He was desperate to prove that he had grown stronger, desperate to fulfill Mu En's final wish.
Jiang Shengyu sneered at Beibei's defiance. "Just as I hoped."
He sheathed the Twilight Sword and clenched his fists. Frost gathered around his hands, condensing into gauntlets of Ultimate Ice.
Beibei likewise summoned his Thunder Dragon Claws, lightning surging around his fists as he met Jiang Shengyu's strike.
But his attribute could not compare to Ultimate Ice. His soul power was lower as well. Even in pure hand-to-hand combat—without soul skills—he was no match.
The aura of Ultimate Ice seeped into Beibei through every blow. The colder it grew, the slower his punches became.
Jiang Shengyu, unaffected by the temperature, hammered him relentlessly.
The scene on stage grew almost bizarre. In the other two battles, soul skills clashed in explosions of multicolored light. Yet here, the clash of two seemingly strongest fighters had devolved into something raw and brutal—nothing but fists meeting flesh.
With an uppercut to Beibei's chin, Jiang Shengyu launched him straight into the air. He crashed into the spatial chains, where the Piercing Chains effect caused spikes to sprout and stab cruelly into his back.
Beibei's face contorted in agony.
Before he could break free of the chains, Jiang Shengyu closed in with a single stride. His twin fists slammed into Beibei's chest, pinning him hard against the spiked chains.
The iron thorns dug in deeper.
Seizing the moment, Jiang Shengyu rained ice-coated fists down upon his face.
By the time Elder Zhuang stepped forward to intervene, Beibei's cheeks were swollen and his skin marred by lacerations from ice crystals. Yet Jiang Shengyu continued swinging, calling out to the elder with a straight face:
"Step aside, Senior—I'm applying ice to reduce the swelling for him!"
"This is a friendly spar—hold back!" Elder Zhuang frowned as he saw Jiang Shengyu showing no intent to stop.
But Jiang Shengyu roared back: "He dared covet my sister—beating him like this is me showing mercy!"
