Chapter 50 - The Angel’s Bargain

The universe trembled with the clash of ki blasts as the battle between Kai and Broly raged on. The very fabric of space seemed to tear as the warriors continued their merciless assault on each other. Every punch, every strike, every blast created shockwaves that reverberated through the stars, sending planets into chaos and leaving behind a trail of destruction.

Kai's grin only grew wider as the fight continued. His body was adapting with every exchange, growing stronger, faster, more precise. Broly was a beast, a monster of raw power. And Kai was having the time of his life.

Broly's golden aura flared again, his ki turning into a wild, uncontrollable storm. He charged up his energy, gathering it into his mouth, a massive ball of green energy beginning to form. The ground beneath them shook, and the stars flickered in response to the sheer magnitude of Broly's power.

Kai, not to be outdone, began charging his own energy. His hands glowed with a bright, blue ki as he began to focus all his strength into a Kamehameha. The air around him crackled with raw power, his energy matching Broly's in intensity.

They stood facing each other, ready to unleash their ultimate attacks. Kai's eyes sparkled with excitement as he prepared for the collision.

"Here we go," Kai muttered, his voice full of exhilaration.

Broly's mouth opened wide, the energy blast gathering inside, ready to unleash the devastating beam. At the same time, Kai's hands moved in perfect synchrony, launching his own Kamehameha wave.

The two beams surged toward each other, growing in size and power as they drew closer. The collision would be cataclysmic. The universe itself seemed to hold its breath as the beams were about to collide.

But just as the blasts were mere moments from meeting, everything froze.

A voice, soft but commanding, rang out from nowhere.

"My, my... what a mess."

Kai's eyes widened in shock as he felt a presence unlike anything he'd ever encountered before. The universe, once shaking with the force of their battle, seemed to still itself as a figure appeared in the distance.

From the distortion of space, a figure materialized. His attire was pristine, an elegant red robe with yellow, orange, white and black accents that shimmered as he floated effortlessly in the void of space. His expression was calm, almost bored, but there was an undeniable air of authority about him. He had a delicate, angelic presence, and the golden staff he held seemed to hum with power.

Kai felt a sudden chill.

He knew exactly who this was. Whis.

But something didn't add up. Whis was an angel, and Kai knew he should still be in the Dragon Ball Z timeline, not in Super. This was... wrong.

'The Android, Cell, and Buu sagas haven't happened yet,' Kai thought, confused. 'Why is he here?'

Broly, still caught in his enraged, animalistic form, snarled and rushed forward, his green aura flaring up with raw power. He was no longer in control, lost in his rage. With a primal scream, he charged toward Whis, his body coiled with energy, ready to tear the angel apart.

But Whis wasn't even fazed. With a gentle tap of his staff on Broly's forehead, a soft click reverberated through the air.

Broly stopped dead in his tracks. His body froze for a second before his aura began to flicker and dim. Slowly, the ferocity in his eyes faded, and he staggered, his once-massive form shrinking back into his base state. The collar around his neck buzzed softly but didn't stop his transformation. Broly fell to his knees, gasping for breath, his energy finally calming down.

Kai watched in disbelief. The aura surrounding Broly faded entirely, and a bubble of energy surrounded the Saiyan, keeping him safe in the vacuum of space.

Whis turned toward Kai, smiling gently as if the scene unfolding before him was a daily occurrence.

"Well, that was rather impressive. I must admit, I was curious to see how long that would last."

Kai blinked, trying to keep his composure, but his mind was in overdrive. What was Whis doing here? Why now? The Z-Fighters hadn't faced any of the big threats yet, and this wasn't supposed to happen. The more Kai thought about it, the more confused he got.

Kai crossed his arms, trying to act nonchalant despite the overwhelming presence of the angel before him. "Who are you, exactly?"

Whis tilted his head slightly, the calm smile never leaving his face. "Ah, how rude of me. I should introduce myself first. My name is Whis, and I am an angel. I serve as the attendant and martial arts master to the God of Destruction of this universe."

"And why did you stop our fight?" Kai pressed, raising an eyebrow. "We were just getting started."

Whis sighed, his expression turning slightly more serious. "Because, as entertaining as your battle was, it would have caused far too much destruction. The planets you've already damaged are only the beginning. If I hadn't intervened, you would've obliterated entire solar systems. I'm afraid I can't allow that to happen."

Kai frowned, trying to suppress his growing frustration. "I get it, I get it. But since you're so powerful, would you be willing to train me? And my friends back on Earth?"

Whis raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Train you? Hmm, I don't train just anyone, you know."

Kai smiled slyly. "I'm sure you wouldn't train just anyone. But I've got something for you that might change your mind."

Whis raised an eyebrow even higher. "Oh? And what might that be?"

Kai's grin widened, and he dashed off. In an instant, he was gone.

A moment later, he landed inside Capsule Corp. Bulma looked up from her work, her eyes narrowing as she noticed Kai entering the kitchen. "What in the world was that earthquake just now? Kai, don't tell me that was your doing."

Kai grabbed a tub of ice cream from the freezer, completely ignoring her question. "I'll explain later," he said quickly, waving his hand dismissively. "I'm busy."

Bulma stood up, hands on her hips. "What the hell are you doing with my ice cream?!"

Kai didn't stop to answer her. He rushed back out, heading straight for the location where Whis was still waiting. Within seconds, Kai reappeared beside the angel in space.

"Here," Kai said, holding out the tub of ice cream to Whis.

Whis blinked, his expression confused. "What is this?"

"It's ice cream," Kai said casually. "Try it."

Whis hesitated for a moment, then popped open the tub. He scooped up a spoonful and tasted it.

His eyes widened in delight. "Oh my… what is this? It's absolutely delicious! Like… Heaven's blessing!" Whis's expression softened into a pure smile, his eyes practically sparkling.

Kai chuckled. "It's a food from my planet. And there's plenty more where that came from. If you train me and my friends, I'll introduce you to all kinds of food like this."

Whis's eyes sparkled. "I see…"

After a moment's pause, Whis nodded, his expression turning serious again. "Very well. You've got a deal. I'll train you and your friends—but only if you provide me with more of this delightful treat."

Kai's smile grew wider. "It's a deal."

Whis turned to Broly, who was still floating in the protective bubble. "As for you," Whis said, his tone soft but firm. "It's time for you to return to your planet."

With a wave of his staff, Broly's bubble began to float, and he was gently sent back toward the desolate planet. Whis then turned to Kai. "I will be back in one day. Gather your friends and some of that delightful food. We will train on my Lord's planet."

Kai nodded eagerly. "You got it."

With that, Whis disappeared, leaving Kai alone in space. Kai took a deep breath, excitement and anticipation building within him. Things were about to change for the Z-Fighters—no more just training on Earth. With Whis's help, they were going to get stronger than ever.

As he shot back to Earth, he couldn't help but grin. Things are about to get interesting.
