Lancelot only stared at the spectacle. Half in awe. Golden and blue light danced through the air. Yet their blades barely even seemed like they had moved an inch. Arthur dashed backwards. Grabbing Lancelot by the back of his shirt.
"Your turn."
Arthur tossed him forward and activated his augment. Lancelot was caught off guard. But quickly adjusted. Creating a spear in his hand and rotating it. Shooting it at his father, Arthur quickly zipped around to the emperor's back using his augment. Slashing down his back and sending him forward. The emperor grabbed Lancelot's spear and shoved it into Arthur's chest.
"I was planning on keeping you alive. But you've just become another problem."
Arthur let out a gasp for air and grasped the spear planted into his chest.
"How kind of you…I don't need your mercy."
Arthur ripped out the spear. Letting out a slight grunt of pain, and bit his lip to suppress it. The king summoned swords of his own. But Lancelot quickly diverted his attention. Thrusting another spear forward. The emperor looked at him and took a step back. Before being met with another slash from Arthur.
"Don't take your eyes off me. We're not done yet."
The hole in Arthur's chest had already started to heal. And he stumbled through the pain. Lurching his sword forward. He cleaved right through the emperor's shield of magic, taking his right arm clean off.
"Arm for an arm, right?"
The emperor quickly retaliated. His own sword slicing right across Arthur's body. And kicking him down. Replacing his fallen arm with one made of mana. Looking towards Lancelot. He sighed.
"My son. It's not too late to join me. You would be a good—"
Lancelot continued to attack. Interrupting his fathers words.
"I'm not in the mood. Father. You've clearly lost your mind. I will bring you the fate you seek."
A smile grew on the emperor's face. As he kicked Lancelot back as well. Restraining him with chains.
"Very good, Lancelot. You've grown quite strong."
The emperor looked towards the veil of shadow. Finding it wasn't there anymore. Revan kneeled next to Arthur's body. Where he laid coughing. An odd glow coming from her hands. As she attempted to stabilize his wound.
"Would you stop getting hurt so much? This is the second time I've had to save you in the last 10 minutes."
"Yeah yeah…"
Arthur laughed a bit. And found the emperor still staring at him. Who immediately burst forward. But Arthur caught his slash towards Revan with his enhanced arm. Still taking a small bit of damage.
"Taking cheap shots, old man? There's no honor in attempting to strike an innocent woman."
The emperor's eyes remained curious. Arthur was holding no sword. And he was bleeding from all over. Yet he still stood. Still fought.
"Ah…"
Arthur smiled.
"I can feel it now."
A radiant glow came from his arm. And the emperor felt an intense feeling. One he hadn't felt in the longest time. Manifesting in Arthur's hand, a blade as pure white as silver. With golden engravings and runes running down its swords. What seemed to be the vestige of a woman, her spirit a golden tint, her hair flowing from Arthur.
"Excalibur…have you finally seen me as worthy?"
Arthur looked at the ghostly figure. As she nodded. And vanished into the blade.
"It's time to end this."
The emperor stared, he had recognized the blade from the moment he witnessed it.
"Ah…you truly are…"
But he couldn't finish the sentence. Arthur only had to swing once. With every ounce of strength he had. The runes from his arms shattering, and every last reserve he had emptying. He cleaved clean through the emperor's body. And Excalibur dissipated as soon as it came to him. He had no time for last words. No time to express regret. His body simply fell.
Yet that wasn't the end. From the sky. He heard the flapping of wings. And witnessed at the ceiling crashed through. A giant creature bursting through. The jade beast landed on the ground. Standing on its hind legs. A dragon. It's frame taller than the Labryinth.
"I am Bahamut! Lord of dragons! Lord of light! I greet the king of kings!"
