Finally leaving that place, he arrived at the dormitories, and the first thing he noticed was how different the air felt compared to when he was there before.
The second thing he saw was one of his companions lying on the floor with a minor wound on her stomach, and another trying to cover it up.
And the third thing he saw upon turning the corner was Wilson stepping on Wataru's back, saying that he was an imposter and not the real Wataru.
Shinji tried to ask what had happened, and Wilson tried to answer, but Wataru said that Wilson was a traitor who had brought the werewolves. Wilson denied all of that, saying that Wataru had attacked him by surprise and almost killed him.
Shinji Ando - Your point seems reasonable, Wilson.
Wataru Yoshida - Ah, what a shame.
Wataru generated a piece of metal on Wilson's back, and Shinji warned Wilson, who dodged it, but the attack didn't stop him.
Shinji Shinji - What the hell? Why didn't he stop his attack?
Wilson Lee - See? I told you he was an imposter. He didn't hesitate to kill himself when he saw you were on his side.
Shinji - What's wrong with him? I'm not disgusted, though. This smell I've had since I entered this place is still really weird.
Suddenly, Shinji and Wilson both collapsed, unconscious.
But what happened in this place before Shinji arrived?
To understand this, let's rewind a few minutes to-
3:45:20 PM
We would see Wataru and a werewolf face to face. This would be accurate if we could see them with our eyes or simply sense that they were being watched.
But in this world, you need more than just two eyes and a sixth sense. You need to sense everything around you to know the exact number of people.
This is divided into three phases. The first phase consists of ordinary people who can barely sense when they are being observed or when they themselves use their eyes.
The second phase consists of people dedicated to their work as heroes or teachers. They can notice changes in people, such as slight movements or sounds and smells that would be difficult for another person to hear.
And finally, there are the most experienced heroes or people with exceptional talent and a certain level of knowledge. They can sense all the changes that might occur within 30 minutes. This is something that can be improved, but it is extremely complex, and heroes prefer to focus on other things.
(Werewolves fall into this category because of their... ) senses of smell or hearing, but only when transformed)
Wataru would be able to see that he was surrounded thanks to his night vision, noticing the different temperature changes (because he also has thermal vision activated to try to predict his enemies' movements)
Wataru Yoshida - This is strange
Werewolf (1) - What's strange?
Wataru Yoshida - It's not that I thought they were the perfect species, but it feels like I'm in Disneyland seeing so many princesses fawning over one person.
Mitio - "Are you stupid or are you pretending? Just because you say that doesn't mean only that one will attack you; they'll all attack you."
Wataru Yoshida - "They're proud. It's obvious they'll accept."
3:47 PM
The werewolf looked toward the right wall and began to growl, then did the same with the other wall. He pulled a cube-shaped object from his fur and pressed a button on top. Wataru, thinking it was some kind of magical blinding device, closed his eyes, but seconds later...
Not hearing the object, he opened his eyes, blinded for a few seconds by the light, and saw a giant battlefield (like in Rome).
Wataru deactivated his night vision and saw that...
The stands began to fill with wolves, except for one section where there was... A wolf wearing a crown would soon appear on the throne, followed by another with a prosthetic hand and a microphone. The wolf would shout, "Hello, my people! We're here again for another spectacular fight! Tonight we'll see a human versus a werewolf..."
At that moment, Wataru attacked the werewolf king with his Blood Slash, but his attack vanished behind a barrier.
The announcer, confused, demanded an explanation.
Wataru replied that the king was too still and he was worried he might be dead.
The announcer, still bewildered, explained that the king was a hologram and was only there to watch the fight.
The wolf commentator added, "Besides, he used Blood Slash. Oh well, I'm not paid enough to question this, so I'll just keep going."
Some wolves were surprised and angry at the sight of a vampire attack.
Wataru Yoshida thought, "Hmm, so that wasn't the king of the wolves?"
Wataru Yoshida replied, "Whoa." "Count how many people there are."
"That's annoying, but oh well."
The commentator would continue talking and ask the werewolf to come in, but the werewolf would be lost in thought.
Werewolf (1) - "That human really betrayed his race by leaving us this academy. This is useful to us."
Werewolf (1) - "And we get stronger the more meat we eat, but since humans are getting stronger, it's difficult to obtain human flesh."
Werewolf (1) - "Especially because animal meat only serves to fill us up, and we're running out of it. Our population has started to decline, and we're the smallest in Japan."
Werewolf (1) - "We could go to another country, but the werewolves there would kill us or make us their subordinates."
Werewolf (1) - "But thanks to that human betraying his race, we can continue living here."
Werewolf (1) - "And today, with the plan he told me, I can only have this boy killed and eliminate the one who ruined his plans, and with this, my race will prosper."
(This is the author's own words; the ""s" are thoughts, just a heads-up.)
Wataru Yoshida - You finally came out. You were there for a while. What were you doing?
Man Wolf (1) - It's not something that matters.
Wataru Yoshida - Is this some kind of plan of yours to get more food?
Wataru confidently told him that if that's the case, he should give up before he humiliates him.
Werewolf (1) - Don't get cocky, kid. After the king, I'm the strongest, and that should be enough for you.
Wataru chuckled slightly at his comment, and the werewolf asked why.
Wataru said that sounded really pathetic and asked him not to get too cocky if they really were the perfect race.
The werewolf was irritated but didn't reply.
Then the commentator announced that a table would appear with the rules and some extra details of the fight.
The rules-
For the fight to end, one of the two must die.
End of rules.
Wataru Yoshida - What the hell are these rules?
Details-
1 hour here equals 1 second outside.
No There's a way to escape, don't try it!
At the end of the fight, all the winner's damage is regenerated.
If the winner isn't satisfied, they can challenge another fighter in the room or stands (no limits on the number of participants or exceptions).
They won't feel any needs like hunger or thirst, nor will they age if this takes time.
There is EXP.
Do you want to ask a question?Yes / No
Wataru looked at the table and would put... no.
The werewolf commentator - And with all this, given that I'm starting... this carnage!
In the first few seconds, neither of them would attack each other since they both wanted to analyze their opponent. Wataru knew his attack style and had a plan to win, while the other only knew that the boy was impulsive but also had some tactics.
Mitio - "There are a total of 500 werewolves, but quite a few have already started to leave, so there are only 250 left."
Wataru would look towards where Mitio was, and that second he lost focus on his opponent, he would be attacked and scratched all over his forearm, being thrown against the wall.
Wataru would see the werewolf in his position, but the moment he blinked, he would see him disappear. He would try to look for him, but would be attacked again.
Werewolf (1) - You said not to cling to a title, but with two actions I showed you that it's not just a title.
The werewolves remaining in the stands would begin to growl at the werewolf in a sign of support.
Werewolf (1) - They're even praising me.
Wataru, after spitting blood, would say - This is only the beginning, you disgusting wolf.
Wataru would approach. Seeing this, the wolf would begin to move to try to dodge the attack, but would be stopped by roots that emerged from the ground. He would receive a blow to the chin, and the roots would release him, leaving him hanging in mid-air.
Wataru Yoshida - 20%
System - System - Your strength stats will be He's been given 20% from some external source.
System - You've gone from 50 strength to 200.
Wataru would attack again, leaping and sending him crashing to the ground. The stands would begin to groan angrily at Wataru.
Wataru Yoshida - Look at your people, they change so fast. Now they're praising me. They're really untrustworthy.
Werewolf (1) - Haha, you know nothing.
And so the fight would continue. Both would fight with everything they had, giving the other no respite, neither slowing down.
Mitio - "Wataru, you've been fighting for three days. This guy is weak. Why don't you just kill him? Or do you want to have fun? Haha, you're going down the wrong path. I'm guiding you well, haha."
Mitio would wait for Wataru to say that it was a lie, but he wouldn't receive any response and would ask himself, "Why had a demon felt that?" But he wouldn't find an answer and would look towards the stands as he left. Through a door, about 10 wolves.
"Interesting"
And so, 30 more days passed. Both continued fighting in the stands. There were only 3 or 5 crazy people left, and the commentator with the hologram of the king. The fight, which was expected to last only one day, had lasted more than 33 days, and that disappointed the werewolves.
The werewolf was very exhausted, but seeing that Wataru was as if nothing had happened, thanks to his absorption ability, he was relieved.
Werewolf (1) - "My scent is permeating his body. This is excellent, although this guy probably hasn't noticed. I think 10 more days and it'll be done."
Werewolf (1) - "Even though each of his attacks hurts a lot and I feel like I'm going to die, I won't let the plan be ruined."
Werewolf (1) - "Dying slower or dying faster was something that was going to happen at any moment, whether from him or from the scent that guy put on me."
Wolf commentator - "Can you end the fight, please?"
But at that moment, he would be attacked by Bloodcutting, which the barrier would stop, and Wataru would ask him to be quiet, saying that he has nothing to do with the fight and that his turn is coming up.
Wolf commentator - "He probably just said that, didn't he?"
Werewolf (1) - "Leave him alone. He has nothing to do with this."
Wataru Yoshida - "Shut up!" You will suffer for your kind.
Werewolf (1) - Oh, you're not very scary, Mr. Villain, hahaha.
Wataru Yoshida - ...
And so, another 49 days would pass, making it 82 days of combat.
Wataru would look down at the werewolf and say, "I cut off your right arm and legs to the point where they could no longer regenerate, and you're still alive."
Werewolf (1) - Didn't I tell you that several times in the first few days?
Werewolf (1) - We are the perfect race.
Werewolf (1) - We have no weakness.
Wataru Yoshida - 50%
Werewolf (1) - "This is the end of my life. I'm sorry, Mother, I'm sorry, Father, for leaving home to try and improve our lives."
System - Your strength stats have been increased by 50% from an external source.
System - You have gone from 50 strength to 500.
Wataru Yoshida - You better shut up. I don't want to... Listen to you more.
Wataru, with the strength Mitio gave him, would deliver the final blow to the head, killing the werewolf and destroying him.
Wolf commentator - "Uh, finally the fight is over, my god."
Wolf commentator - "And with that, the fight is over!"
Wolf commentator - "With a human victory!"
Wataru Yoshida - "I'm not satisfied!"
Wolf commentator - "What?!"
Wataru would point towards the stands where the king was and say-
"My opponent is you," he said, pointing towards the commentator.
Wolf commentator - "Wh-why me?"
Wolf commentator - "No, I can fight you!"
The details themselves say it, so you're the next fighter.
And so the commentator would be sent into the arena.
The wolf commentator, on his knees, would beg him not to kill him cruelly like his colleague who lacked regeneration.
But Wataru, upon hearing these words, would be enraged to hear such things coming from a werewolf, and would immediately strike the wolf in the arm, breaking the bones and sending him crashing into the wall.
The wolf would scream and beg again to be killed, but Wataru, even more enraged, would strike him with a sharp, bloody blow to the stomach, avoiding any vital areas.
With that, Wataru would see the wolf spit blood and again beg him to kill him once and for all.
Wataru Yoshida - "Suffer for what they did to Hana. It's what she wanted me to do."
Wataru Yoshida - "Wait, is this really something she wanted me to do, or is it something I want to do for revenge?" What happened in previous attempts?
Wataru looked at the werewolf and remembered something his mother had told him- never kill anyone in a way that makes them suffer, because he felt he had suffered more than anyone else.
Since the damage was done, he struck the werewolf on the head, ending its life and preventing further suffering.
Wataru, are you satisfied with the fight?
Yes/No
And Wataru would press... Yes
Disappearing battlefield
4:18:08 PM
Wataru Yoshida - Fuu, a little relaxation wouldn't hurt.
Mitio - "Hey, there's someone waiting at that door."
Wataru Yoshida - "I'll go anyway. I'll dodge."
Mitio - "But wait, don't you smell it?"
Wataru Yoshida - "What smell...?"
And Wataru would receive a punch to the face from Wilson, causing him to fall.
Wataru Yoshida - "What's wrong with you, Wilson? It's me, Wataru."
Wilson Lee - "That's a lie. Your smell is the same as theirs."
Wataru would still be stunned by the blow and would look at the ground and see the bodies of werewolves, but a little further away he would see Hana's body and he would get angry and attack Wilson.
Mitio - "And she just remembered what her mother said."
Mitio - "That smell is still strange, although it's something." "Very interesting. When you two finish your childish fight, I'll explain it to the brat."
Wataru and Wilson continued fighting until Wilson landed a punch in Wataru's stomach that knocked the wind out of him.
Wilson took advantage of the situation, knocking Wataru to the ground on his back and pinning him down. Shinji arrived and asked what was going on.
Mitio - "And that's it, that's all."
Wataru Yoshida - "I didn't understand a damn thing."
Mitio - "In short, the wolf released such a potent scent that anyone who smelled it, even for a second, would be contaminated."
Wataru Yoshida - "And what did that do?"
Mitio - "It drove you crazy at the first sign of rage and poisoned you."
Mitio - "That's what I think."
Mitio - "Why did those guys fall to the ground after you killed yourself?"
Wataru Yoshida - "Like, a drug."
Mitio - "Yeah."
(I changed the part where Mitio gives her strength to make it clearer because it didn't fit my idea. The average demon has 1000 strength, and Wataru doesn't gain strength; he gains it. Instead of gaining 500, he only gains 500, and his 50 disappear. I'll fix this in episode 24 and leave it as is. I apologize.)
