Chapter 11 - Chapter 10.5: Unveiled

On the other side of the Castle, Finra was standing before a large and heavy oak door. One that led into the Marshal's office. Standing there motionless, Finra took a slow inhale, his heart thumping heavily in his chest as he was preparing himself for the report he was about to give to his superior. Blood had still stained his armor from his interrogation of Sion just a few minutes earlier.

Lightly he swiped at the metal to remove the excess blood and dirt from it. Steeling himself, he pushed the doors open. That ugly grin he always wore dressing his face. His eyes fell onto a figure that stood at the window, shadows had overtaken the man's back but upon hearing the arrival he slowly turned around.

"Ah, I assume you have that report for me?" The figure spoke. His face slowly became clear in the light. The black hair peppered with silver. The sharp jawline and the crimson red eyes all became clear as they held a cold and calculating stare. The figure's body was clearly well maintained and beard well trimmed.

"Yes, Marshal Umbra." Finra spoke proudly. "I have captured the target you had heard about as the leader of this group. I've made an attempt to interrogate him, but he is a hard one to crack. Usually they break after a bit of pain, even hell-borns like us. But, it seems he has a strong will." Finra spoke.

Madam Umbra's son stood there with his arms behind his back. His eyes looked Finra up and down. He took note of the blood that stained the man's armor. It stirred a feeling deep within his core. For a long time, Mira had kept his position a secret from everyone, even his own mother. For if he hadn't been able to keep it secret or even kept his work and personal life separate, it would mean trouble. But now it was all colliding together at a needle's point. Deep inside, he felt a rage that he had not anticipated before.

"I see." Mira responded quickly as he bit back the anger that festered.

"We resolved that he was responsible for the disappearance of a few of our supply carts. Even going as far to kill the men that were transporting rations and silks to our outposts. And disrupting the tax revenue as it was making its way to the capitol. This was due to the fact that since his capture, the attacks and theft stopped. So I made it my mission to break him down. Get a confession." Finra stated.

Mira's eyes flashed with rage briefly for a moment. His body turning and making its way around the desk he stood behind. As he walked, his footfall seemed to echo loudly, though it remained as quiet as a mouse. He fought against his instincts to rip this man apart as much as he could. He knew how brutal Finra was, but he was effective and the only other General that could carry out Sion's capture. But Mira couldn't help but ask.

"Is that… Sion's blood that stains your armor?" Mira spoke through his teeth as he refused to take a breath until he was met with an answer.

Finra could not deduce the fact why Mira was growing in anger. So he concluded that Mira simply must be angry that the kingdom was being threatened by such a small man.

"Yes, I am breaking him slowly. Methodically. I introduce him to pain then leave him in complete darkness. After I leave here, I have more to subject him to. To break away the shell and expose his truth. Such as my mission when I came from hell alongside you and the King." Finra confessed proudly. "I beat him into submission when I captured him. Displayed him to the people as a reminder to not disobey Irza or the laws of the ascended land."

Mira's eyes closed for a moment. Finra stood there confused all for a moment before Mira's hand lifted from resting at his side. The darkest of magic began to dance along the air. Slowly wrapping itself around Finra's throat. Finra had stepped back once and lifted a hand in defense. His voice sputtered and blabbed about. The air leaving his throat faster than the words.

"Sir! Have I done something to wrong you?! Am I not living up to your expectations? I've done the bidding that was asked of me!" Finra began to yell but before he could continue. Mira's magic began to choke him as his hand closed. Finra's hands gripped around his throat in a hopeless effort to stop this madness.

Mira stared at him with deep eyes. His teeth ached for blood. His mind yelled for him to kill this man but how would it disrupt his plans? His position? How could he feel these emotions for a traitor? It was meaningless sex. Meaningless time compared to a thousand years of his own life. For Mira, it should only mean a day of time spent gathering information, to prosecute and maintain his King's rule. But he could not deny his own feelings. The way his heart beat for Sion even though he was so sure he was lying when he spoke about his love for Sion.

Finra gasped for mercy. The weak gasp made Mira release his grasp around Finra's throat, allowing him to collapse onto the floor.

"What…the hell." Finra coughed out. "What are you trying to do Mi-" As he lifted his head, he could see Mira's foot coming down towards his face. The collision of Mira's foot against Finra's head shook the floor and walls. The sound that came from the strike was a disgusting crack that filled the air. Finra was laid out onto his back from the force of the kick. His nose was broken and pouring with blood.

As Mira walked over to him. His voice was cold with a controlled rage. His rage was pointed towards both himself and Finra. "How could it happen like this?" He spoke to himself as Finra cowered and tried to brace himself for another attack. Mira's foot lifted and stomped roughly on top of Finra's forearms, breaking the bones in them. Again, his foot would lift and effortlessly slam down onto Finra's arms like a hammer pounding the kinks out of a blade. This time, the bones in Finra's forearms shattered into fragments as they went completely limp.

Mira's hearing had tuned out the screams of Finra up to this point but the louder they got, the more pissed off Mira would become. His hand lifted only slightly to cover Finra's mouth in the dark magic he commanded. Making any noise Finra would make silent.

"I was stupid to try it this way." Mira spoke out loud again as his foot now connected with Finra's mouth, breaking all of his teeth and jaw. His breath was even and controlled as he thought out loud.

"It's simple now. I know exactly what I have to do." Mira's foot twisted from side to side on Finra's face, the pressure causing cuts and skin to rip from the friction. "I'll just have to kill all of his friends. All of those that support him and tell him that his plans would work. Then, he'll be mine and I can protect him." He finished as his eyes moved over to see Finra still breathing slowly.

"You're still alive?" Mira asked but did not wait on an answer. He slowly lowered onto one knee and lifted a closed fist. Striking Finra's face again and again with a force that could shatter even the largest of boulders. The floor shook with each strike. Pictures fell from the walls and items on his desk dribbled from their surface only to fall against the quaking floor.

Blood rocketed and splattered against the walls and furniture of his office. His face became coated and his clothing drenched in the red liquid until there was nothing left of Finra's head but a pile of meat. He stood once he had gotten his anger out and pulled a clean cloth from his pocket and wiped the blood from his face and hands. His breath remained at a paced and even amount of respirations. His heart is steady.

"Your methods were weak and unrefined. I should have put you in your place a long time ago." With a snap, Mira's clothes cleaned themselves. His furniture was free of blood and his room returned to the state it was just in moments before. A portal of darkness opened beneath Finra's body and hands of the damned and lost souls began to pull it into purgatory.

"Now, back to business." Mira said as he dusted his shirt off and went back to his desk, sorting papers.
