Chapter 165 - Chapter 165

!

Tonks stared at Char's figure in a daze. Compared to the massive tentacles of the Kraken, even a half-giant like Hagrid would have seemed tiny. But at this moment, for some reason, she felt a strong sense of confidence radiating from Char. He truly believed he could deal with this monster that could hunt dragons at sea.

She took a step back, clutching her wand tightly. Char's expression was serious as he stared at the giant creature in the waves. He took out the vial of [Giant Killer] toxin and threw it into the sea. At the same time, he waved his wand, and a magical force shattered the vial as it hit the water. A burst of bright red suddenly spread through the sea, filled with the rich vitality of Char's own blood.

The Kraken immediately seemed to smell something delicious, a taste more attractive than any creature it had ever swallowed. The scent of sharks, whales, giant squids, even the fire dragon it had once dragged into the sea, was nothing compared to this. Attracted by a powerful hunger, the Kraken let out a low roar. A huge whirlpool formed on the seabed, sucking down every last drop of the blood. The creature seemed excited, its tentacles waving wildly beneath the surface.

A cold light flashed in Char's eyes. "Delicious? Then I'll give you some more." He decisively cut his own arm, and blood spurted out like a fountain, splashing into the sea. At the same time, he waved his wand. With his previous experience and his new, bronze-level mastery of Dark Magic Transfiguration, he could now easily create the [Giant Killer]. The splattered blood seemed to come alive, wriggling as it spilled into the water.

The Kraken didn't understand what was happening, why this little wizard was bleeding himself for it. But its ravenous appetite drove it to continue sucking up the blood. In a moment, the sea was clear again. But that small amount of blood was not even enough for a mouthwash for a creature of its size. It was even more eager now to drag Char into the sea, to tear him to pieces and feel the abundant vitality exploding within its own body.

The tentacle that had nearly crushed Tonks rose again, this time aiming for Char. Boom! The tentacle slammed down, and the entire island seemed to shake, the sound like a hundred thunderclaps roaring at once. Smoke and dust billowed into the sky.

Tonks's eyes turned blood-red. She stared blankly at the cloud of dust, imagining the miserable, fragmented remains of the boy scattered on the ground. Porgy Charlemagne laughed maniacially. "A genius? So what if you're a genius? You still have to die!" The hatred that had been accumulating since the academic review poured out of him.

But the next moment, a voice came from the smoke and dust. "What the hell are you yelling about?"

Porgy's laughter died in his throat. His eyes filled with disbelief. How is that possible? I clearly saw him get hit! How can he still speak? Am I hallucinating?

A long exhalation, like the roar of a giant, blew away the smoke and dust, revealing Char's figure. He was in a miserable state, more embarrassed than he had ever been in his life, even worse than his training with Shadow and the Devil's Snare. It seemed as if every capillary in his body had burst, covering him in blood. His muscles were torn, his arms so mangled that the white of his bones was visible in many places. It was a horrific sight. But the tentacle that the Kraken had smashed down was held tightly in his tiny hands.

Tonks covered her mouth, tears welling in her eyes. Porgy gasped. He's not dead? What the hell is this little badger, that he can wrestle with the tentacle of a Kraken?! But then, his eyes filled with resentment again. So what if he survived one blow? He still has to die!

The Kraken, puzzled that it hadn't crushed Char, didn't seem to care. If one hit didn't kill him, another one would. The tentacle slowly rose again. Char watched it, a wild grin on his face. He looked at his system panel. The blow from the Kraken had caused him unprecedented trauma, but the sharpening effect on his abilities was far greater than any of his previous collisions with the trolls. The light radiating from his Legendary Life and Legendary Strength was significantly brighter.

He took a deep breath. The blood boiled in his veins, and the wounds on his body began to recover at a speed visible to the naked eye. The next second, the Kraken's tentacle struck down again. This time, the resistance was even stronger. Char gritted his teeth and held on, his newly healed wounds exploding again. But his Legendary Life and Legendary Strength grew even more intense, the progress from legend to myth accelerating at an incredible rate. An endless supply of power surged from within his body, allowing him to once again hold back the Kraken's tentacle. Magic was powerless here. His two legendary abilities were his ultimate reliance.

The Kraken, enraged that it had failed to kill him twice, raised its tentacle a third, fourth, and fifth time, each blow more ferocious than the last. But each time, Char was like a reef in the waves, unbreakable. In fact, with each blow, the resistance he offered grew stronger. The Kraken felt as if it were wrestling with a land-dwelling blue whale.

At the same time, the blood that had spread from Char's body into the sea was still pouring into the Kraken's own. At first, it had tasted delicious. But now, it could feel something was wrong. Waves of weakness surged through its massive body, as if insects were gnawing at its vitality. At first, the loss was a drop in the ocean. But the thing that was eating away at its life force was growing rapidly. It could feel the tentacle that had the most contact with Char becoming paralyzed, out of its control. This strange situation, a first for the overlord of the North Sea, filled it with a strong sense of threat.

Suddenly, the Kraken's tentacle retracted into the sea. It wanted to escape.

A cold light appeared in Char's eyes. He grabbed the tentacle that had hit him so many times. "I was hit so many times, and now you want to leave? Have you asked me if I agree?!"

His Legendary Power and Legendary Life shone brightly on his system panel, allowing him to unleash his strongest brute force to date. Like a Titan from mythology, he tugged fiercely on the tentacle, causing the Kraken's massive body to falter for a moment. In that moment, the [Giant Killer] poison spread more violently through its body. The monster was truly scared.

The next moment, it took the initiative, severing the tentacle that Char was holding. The main body fled into the deep sea without a moment's hesitation. Char watched the turbulent sea gradually return to calm. He didn't chase after it. The deep sea was the Kraken's home, and even though it was poisoned, its body was still too huge. It could likely survive the loss of some tissue. And for Char to face its many tentacles in the deep sea would be an extremely high risk. There was no need.

Besides, his harvest this time was already big enough. He looked at his system panel. His Legendary Life and Legendary Power now glowed with a blazing white light, much brighter than before. Though still a long way from the mythical level, the increase in progress was a qualitative change. And he had obtained a material more precious than that from most 5X-level magical beasts: a piece of the Kraken's tentacle. Although the poison was now taking effect, causing the tentacle to crumble, he was still able to extract a large amount of its blood, a perfect ingredient for his third batch of Blood Jade. It was also an extremely precious material for his research into Dark Magic Transfiguration.

He took a deep breath, his surging emotions slowly calming as his wounds healed. He turned around. Tonks had fainted from the shockwaves of the continuous collisions. And Porgy Charlemagne… Char frowned. Tonks had fallen unconscious, and the rope she had created had disappeared. Porgy had been taken to a flying carpet by his house-elf and was now just a black dot in the sky.

A cold light flashed in Char's eyes. Porgy had really given him a "surprise." He had taken out an item that could summon the Kraken. If not for Char's habit of making full preparations before taking risks, he would have had to escape. This old Slytherin, with his strong family background… Char didn't want to let him go. Otherwise, God knew what kind of trouble he would bring next time. Eradicate all evil.

Without hesitation, Char mounted his Nimbus 2000 and chased after the flying carpet. As long as the house-elf didn't Apparate away, at the speed of the Nimbus 2000, it was only a matter of time. A strange thought occurred to him. Why didn't the elf just Apparate away with him?

On the flying carpet, Porgy had woken up from his coma and was berating his house-elf. "Why don't you Apparate me away?! How can a flying carpet outrun a Nimbus 2000? Are you trying to kill me, you dirty, lowly idiot?!"

The house-elf was terrified. "Master, house-elves are bound by contract magic. If the master is in danger, the house-elf must save him, even at the cost of his own life, unless the master gives a different order. I would never want to kill my master. It's because you are too weak, Master. I don't have enough strength. If I were to continue to Apparate with you, you would most likely die in the process."

Porgy looked back anxiously. He could see Char chasing after them at an incredible speed. He remembered the boy withstanding the Kraken's strength and a chill ran down his spine. What on earth is this little badger? Even a pure-blooded giant couldn't do that. Could it be… some horrible transformation has been done to his body? Yes, it must be black magic, a transformation of flesh and blood! The thought was terrifying. To him, Char was like the reincarnation of the Dark Lord. Could it be that the Dark Lord isn't actually dead, but was reborn into that baby? That's why he has such terrifying skill in Dark Magic Transfiguration! The more he thought about it, the more heartbroken he became. He didn't have the courage to face Char; he just wanted to run.

The distance between them was closing. "If we fly like this, we'll still die when that monster catches up!" Porgy roared.

The house-elf quickly said, "Master, I can feel an island ahead. It has a protective spell left by the Ministry of Magic, but it is not within the range of house-elf magic. I can send you in. There's still some dangerous magic on the island, and there might be some dangerous magical animals. How to proceed depends on your orders, Master."

Porgy felt as if he had been saved from a desperate situation. An island protected by the Ministry? That was great! He could escape! As for the dangers on the island, could they be more dangerous than Char, who was very likely the reincarnation of the Dark Lord? Without a moment's hesitation, he gave the order. "Get me to that island right now. As for you," he said, his expression grim, "after you send me in, you will go out and buy me some time. Even if it means your death, you have to buy me one more second. This is my order. You are a house-elf; you must obey!"

The house-elf lowered his head, shivering. "Yes. House-elves will always follow their masters' orders. Master, the island is ahead. There is danger on the island. Shall I take you in?"

A fog appeared before Porgy's eyes. He saw it as his salvation. "Stop talking nonsense! Hurry up, send me in! I order you to send me in quickly!"

The next moment, the house-elf snapped his fingers. Porgy felt his head spin. When he came to, he was on an island, surrounded by green grass. He had made it. He burst into laughter. He had survived. So what if Char was the reincarnation of the Dark Lord? He would tell the Ministry, he would tell Dumbledore! He would be a hero, a savior! As for the house-elf he had sent to its death… he didn't give it a second thought. A lowly creature, born to serve. It must be grateful that its death could be exchanged for its master's survival.

In the sky, on the flying carpet, the house-elf was crying bitterly. But it wasn't fear or sadness. It was relief. "I'm a bad house-elf," it sobbed. "I deceived my master. But I took advantage of the rules. It was my master's order that I do this. I did it. I did it!"

Char flew over on his Nimbus 2000. He looked at the crying, bloodied house-elf, a strange look in his eyes. Then, his gaze fell on the fog ahead, and he understood everything. There was no escape here. This was a dead end. The Drya Island, filled with Quintapeds, the island he had been searching for, was right in front of him. And Porgy, thinking it was the lesser of two evils, had ordered the house-elf to send him in. The Quintapeds would be happy to have human flesh delivered to their door. They would be ecstatic.

The house-elf was now lying on the flying carpet, breathing weakly. It looked at Char and laughed. "I'm a bad house-elf. But today is the happiest day of my life. I did what I wanted to do. You see, even house-elves can seek revenge. No matter how noble a wizard is, he has to be nice to house-elves, right?" It closed its eyes, ready to die.

But the expected death did not come. When it opened its eyes, it found a bottle of a transparent potion in its hand. Char's voice was calm. "This is Essence of Dittany. Apply it to the wound to stop the bleeding."

The house-elf looked at him in astonishment. "You won't kill me?"

Char shook his head slightly and looked at the island hidden in the mist. "Consider it… you did me a big favor. Besides, I'm just a little badger, not a dark wizard. Do I really like killing?"

The house-elf was silent for a moment. Then, it suddenly let out a sigh, as if feeling something. "Master… oh no, the contract is gone. He is no longer my master. Porgy Charlemagne… he's dead."

"So you're free?" Char asked softly.

The house-elf smiled. "A free house-elf? I'm sure there are no such freaks in the wizarding world."

Char showed a strange look. No? That may not be the case. Dobby in the original story is also a free house-elf. He let out a sigh. "May I have your name?"

"Eugene," the house-elf said.

Char nodded. "If you have nowhere to go for the time being, I have an island. Maybe you can think about how to live your life there later. I will provide you with food and daily necessities. As a fair trade, you will help me with whatever you can. Instead of a house-elf contract, we will sign a cooperative employment contract. How about that?"

Eugene paused, then his eyes suddenly lit up, and he nodded.

Char took another deep look at the fog ahead. With his platinum-level night vision, he could see the malicious magic particles swirling within it. Even though he was in great demand for the Pute fruit on the island, he did not rush in. Instead, he turned and left.

"Ugh—" Tonks groaned in pain. Then, as if something had suddenly occurred to her, she sat up instantly. The Kraken, Char… The familiar sight of the Hogwarts infirmary came into view. Madam Pomfrey was clanging about, making healing potions. "You can't get up yet," she said angrily. "Lie back down."

"How did I get back?" Tonks asked, astonished.

Madam Pomfrey looked helpless. "Char brought you back. He said you were flying a broom over the sea at night, flew too low, and hit a reef. Tonks, you're already a trainee Auror. How could you make such a stupid mistake?"

Tonks froze for a moment, her aching head processing the information. Char didn't want anyone to know about the Kraken. "Where is he?" she asked.

Madam Pomfrey spread her hands. "Where else could the child be? He rushed to the greenhouse after getting you to the infirmary. It seems like something urgent is waiting for him."

And at that moment, in a small greenhouse, Char's eyes fell on the bucket of dark blue blood in front of him. He took a deep breath. This was the blood extracted from the Kraken. It was more powerful than the blood of a dragon or an Acromantula. Added to the Blood Jade, the transformation that would occur might exceed all his expectations.

The next moment, he waved his wand. A ball of dark blue blood mist rushed towards the increasingly languishing third group of Blood Jade. And then, he saw it. The reward light ball above the jade, which had been so weak it was about to go out, suddenly began to expand. On the third set of Blood Jade, the handwriting of the reward information suddenly became blurred. And then, a rich platinum color spread across it.
