Chapter 187 - Meeting with Freya!

Chapter 55 – Meeting with Freya!

As he stared at the towering Boaz man before him, Akira felt a violent urge bubbling up inside.

The smug expression on the man's face, like he looked down on everything and everyone—it was infuriating.

But truthfully, Akira himself wasn't exactly the humble type. As someone who had crossed over from the three-dimensional world into this one, he carried—subconsciously or not—a sense of superiority over the inhabitants of this two-dimensional realm.

Just like they say, "similar natures repel each other." That perfectly described the tension between Akira and Ottar. They were never going to get along.

"So you're blocking my path because you want to force me to come with you?" Akira asked in a flat tone.

"It would be in your best interest to comply. If you resist… injury is inevitable."

"Just as I thought... I really don't like your type."

There was no denying it—Ottar was a Level 7 adventurer. That alone made him a living legend. Akira, on the other hand, was still at Level 3. Even with all his advantages and "cheats" as an otherworlder, closing a four-level gap in a straight-up fight was still far from possible.

But then suddenly, their auras clashed.

An invisible wave of spiritual pressure surged through the air, crashing against each other like colliding storms. For a brief moment, Ottar's expression shifted ever so slightly. He couldn't believe it. The pressure he felt—was actually pushing back at him?

From this... short-looking human?

How could someone who had only received a Falna about two weeks ago radiate such intensity?

But this wasn't just any location. They were currently on the upper floors of Babel Tower, where many gods resided. Any reckless battle here would risk catastrophic structural damage.

Not to mention... the goddess he served was currently at the very top of this tower.

As one of the two ruling forces in Orario, Freya occupied the summit of Babel Tower. Just as her residence overlooked the city, so too did she view the world—aloof, elegant, and untouchable.

"You're quite the interesting one. Come with me, Shin Akira," Ottar said, his voice cold and composed.

That condescending tone lit a spark in Akira's chest. But like he'd said—this wasn't the place for a fight.

"Freya Familia... what a pain in the ass. Honestly, with the way you people act, I really feel like tearing your entire Familia out by the roots and burning it all to ash."

"If you think you can... you're welcome to try."

"Heh. No wonder they call you one of the two kings of Orario. Confidence suits you."

"Now then. What will you do?"

"…Fine. I'll go with you."

Ottar gave a nod of satisfaction and turned toward the magic-operated elevator. Their destination: the very top of Babel Tower.

Akira followed silently, stepping into the lift behind him as they began their ascent—rising toward the highest point in all of Orario.

His main reason for agreeing was simple—fighting inside Babel would be stupid. But beyond that, a question lingered in his mind:

Why would Freya go through all this trouble just to see me?

To his knowledge, his soul wasn't anything special. As long as it wasn't tainted or rotten, he figured that was good enough.

The magically-powered elevator whirred upward at high speed, rivaling modern technology back on Earth.

Eventually, a soft chime echoed through the chamber.

Cling— The doors slid open with a gentle whisper.

Akira and Ottar stepped out into the highest level of Babel Tower—the very summit of the tallest structure in the city. This area was Freya's private domain.

They walked through a long corridor before stopping in front of a massive door.

When the doors opened, Akira was greeted by a luxurious chamber that resembled a grand reading room or private library. The floors were draped in richly woven carpets with intricate hand-stitched patterns—clearly nothing cheap.

In the center of the room, surrounded by tall shelves, was a striking arrangement of books.

Akira narrowed his eyes. Grimoires...?

It wouldn't be strange. In Orario, all Grimoires circulating on the market were said to come from a single skeletal source—quite literally.

Each Grimoire possessed the power to grant its reader a magic spell uniquely resonant with their soul. Because of that, they were incredibly rare and insanely valuable.

Even a single Grimoire was worth millions of valis. And here? There were dozens.

"So we finally meet, Shin Akira."

A soft voice echoed through the room, followed by the entrance of a mesmerizing woman dressed in alluring robes rich with color and grace.

Freya. Goddess of Beauty. The divine head of Freya Familia. One of the two reigning powers of Orario alongside the Loki Familia.

But beyond her divine status, she was infamous for her unpredictable nature. If someone caught her interest, she would pursue them without hesitation—possessive and relentless. As a Goddess of Beauty, her innate Charm ability affected both men and women alike, drawing their hearts to her with magnetic allure.

Her true thoughts? A complete mystery to even her closest followers.

"Freya-sama," Akira said, voice low. "I can't help but wonder—what made you go so far? You even sent the Formidable One himself just to 'escort' me."

The way he said escort was laced with sarcasm. His displeasure was clear.

"There's no special reason," Freya replied calmly. "I'm simply... curious. So I've been watching you."

"Watching, huh? Sounds pretty creepy when you put it that way."

That remark didn't seem to faze Freya, but Ottar? The man visibly bristled. To him, Freya was everything—more than life itself.

"It's all right, Ottar. Leave us," Freya said gently, her eyes never leaving Akira.

"As you wish, Freya-sama."

Ottar gave Akira one last look—one that could pierce stone—before stepping out and carefully closing the door behind him.

Watching him go, Akira couldn't help but scoff inwardly. So the mighty Formidable One is just a fanboy in the end... talk about blind devotion.

"Shin Akira…" Freya spoke again, her voice slow and silky. "Tell me—do you think I'm beautiful?"

The question came out of nowhere.

She stepped closer, slow and deliberate, until they stood only inches apart.

Her eyes gleamed with a faint violet light, and an intoxicating aura of seduction poured out from her very being.

This... was Freya.

For all her scandals and reputation—her allure as a goddess was undeniable.
