Chapter 50 Coming to Me Voluntarily—How Could I Refuse?

Lin Haoran was completely unaware of Bao Yugang's new deployment.

Today, his mood was exceptionally good.

After all, Wharf Holdings' price surge had far exceeded his expectations—far beyond what he had originally envisioned.

This rising trend meant he could reap huge profits from this stock market battle.

After the employees had gradually left work, Lin Haoran stayed alone in the company, gazing at the magnificent, colorful sunset outside the window.

Although it had been a busy period, the rewards were enormous—everything had been worth it.

This weekend, with nothing urgent to handle, he decided to return to the Lin family villa for a couple of nights, treating it like a seaside holiday.

However, just as he was about to leave, his pager, hanging from his waist, buzzed incessantly, pulling him back from his thoughts.

Clearly, someone was trying to contact him.

Since he was still in the office, Lin Haoran quickly moved to the phone and called the number back.

After all, anyone who had his pager number must be someone connected to him.

The call connected, and Lin Haoran said politely and directly, "Hello, this is Lin Haoran."

On the other end, a lively, slightly mischievous voice replied, "Young Master Lin, do you still remember me? I'm Guan Jiahui!"

Hearing this, Lin Haoran couldn't help but smile broadly:

"Of course I remember. I still owe you a pair of Roger Vivier shoes, how could I forget?"

He vividly recalled the scene at the movie celebration party where he had handed her his business card.

He had assumed she would contact him soon, but after not hearing from her, the matter had gradually slipped to the back of his mind.

"Looks like you actually remembered me—how rare," Guan Jiahui said playfully, making Lin Haoran laugh aloud.

Their conversation instantly shortened the distance between them, as if they were back to that delightful evening at the party.

"So, you finally have time to call me?" Lin Haoran joked with a chuckle.

"Exactly! I've been wanting to contact you for a while, but my dad's been home every day lately.

I had no chance to sneak out.

Good news, though—he just flew off to Malaysia this afternoon for a week of filming.

The moment he left, I called you!" Guan Jiahui said, half complaining, half delighted.

"Haha, so you're rushing to make me honor my promise for those Roger Vivier shoes?" Lin Haoran teased.

"Hmph! A real man must keep his word!

You promised me personally—you can't back out!" Guan Jiahui's voice carried a charming note of playful insistence.

"Don't worry. I always keep my promises.

Whenever you want those shoes, just say the word," Lin Haoran laughed.

"Great! Since you're free now, how about tonight?

I haven't had dinner yet.

You buy me shoes, I treat you to dinner—deal?" Guan Jiahui suggested brightly.

"Sounds perfect!

I haven't eaten yet either.

Where are you? I'll come pick you up," Lin Haoran said cheerfully.

"I'm waiting at the entrance of Hong Tak Garden in Kowloon Bay.

How long will you take to get here?" Guan Jiahui asked expectantly.

"I'm in Central right now.

It'll take about twenty minutes.

Although Central to Kowloon Bay isn't far, it's rush hour now—traffic through the Cross-Harbour Tunnel might be a bit heavy.

But I'll get there as quickly as I can," Lin Haoran assured her.

After hanging up, Lin Haoran summoned Li Weiguo and Li Weidong to accompany him,

and together they left the company.

Roughly twenty minutes later, their Mercedes smoothly pulled up in a quiet spot outside Hong Tak Garden in Kowloon Bay.

Through the car window, Lin Haoran immediately spotted Guan Jiahui,

dressed in a flowing white dress, swaying gently in the evening breeze.

She looked slightly bored but couldn't hide her elegant beauty.

Her outfit had clearly been carefully chosen.

Unlike the gentle and modest style she wore at their previous meeting,

today's Guan Jiahui radiated stunning charm.

Seeing her like this, a ripple stirred in Lin Haoran's heart.

As a former fan of the famous actress in his past life,

he now felt an irresistible blend of admiration and longing.

After all, a beauty once out of reach was now within arm's reach—

such an opportunity could not be easily missed.

Lin Haoran lowered the car window and whistled playfully toward her,

immediately catching Guan Jiahui's attention.

A flash of surprise crossed her eyes, and then she quickened her steps toward him.

"Hop in, beautiful lady," Lin Haoran said with a smile.

"Thank you," Guan Jiahui replied softly,

slightly shy as she gracefully opened the back door and sat inside.

As the door closed, a subtle tension filled the air—

an unspoken mix of familiarity and unfamiliarity.

Their previous pleasant conversation had built a delicate bridge between them,

and now anticipation intertwined with a hint of nervousness.

"So, where are we headed?

I'm looking forward to that 'grand feast' you promised.

Don't disappoint me," Lin Haoran joked, seeing her slight nervousness.

"Let's go to Mong Kok.

When I was little, my parents often took me there.

After my mom took my brother to live in the U.S., and my dad got busier with work,

we hardly went anymore.

I've always wanted to revisit those old memories," Guan Jiahui said, trying to calm herself.

Sitting in Lin Haoran's car, Guan Jiahui marveled at her own courage.

Despite only two brief meetings,

her impression of Lin Haoran was extraordinarily favorable.

In her eyes, Lin Haoran wasn't just a gentleman full of charm,

but also a magnetic figure blessed with a prestigious family background—an irresistible combination.

"Then Mong Kok it is!" Lin Haoran agreed readily.

Li Weiguo, acting as the driver, skillfully started the engine,

and they headed toward Mong Kok.

Mong Kok—the city that never sleeps—truly lived up to its name.

When Lin Haoran and Guan Jiahui arrived,

though the night was deep,

the area was still bustling,

the streets packed with people,

vibrant and full of life.

Most eye-catching of all were the multicolored, dazzling neon signs,

like a galaxy of stars adorning the Mong Kok night sky,

turning the streets into a dreamlike wonderland.

Strolling side by side through this vivid urban landscape,

Lin Haoran and Guan Jiahui found themselves naturally drawing closer.

After dinner, they exited the restaurant into the cool night breeze.

In an unguarded moment,

Guan Jiahui's delicate hand slipped quietly into Lin Haoran's warm palm, their fingers entwining naturally.

Her heartbeat quickened,

and her cheeks flushed softly.

Lin Haoran simply smiled—

since she came to him willingly,

how could he possibly refuse?
