MAHIRA'S POV
I woke up and found myself in my room. Adamsen was sitting next to me smoking a cigarette . There was no glint of emotion in his eyes, it's like the Adam who has been taking care of me was dead, completely gone. I may not remember much about my past but I think Thane is not wrong.
Mahira," Why did you lash me huh? Why are you acting like a demon?"
Adamsen," you are mine. I don't want you to go around hooking up with other men. If you are not obedient your family will pay for it."
Mahira," what family? "
Adamsen," let me help you jog your memory. You see that Thane who you only hate because of all the bad memories, he's the love of your life and those are your kid's."
Mahira," If they're my family why did they treat me so badly? Why do I only have bad memories? Why?"
Adamsen," Because of your mental health you only remember the bad. But I have one question... Why the fuck don't you want to fall in love with me huh? I have given you everything a woman could wish for?"
Mahira," Yes you have but there's this beastly side of you that you hide and you know what I witnessed it myself. Love cannot be forced okay. Not at all."
Adamsen slapped me hard across my face. What ever was happening was really a bummer. Adamsen made me face him.
Adamsen," Now listen here...if I see you anywhere near Thane, your son's, Elena or even Kaashvi I will kill them all without hesitation! Don't test me."
Mahira," Then I'll stand as their shield. You can't kill them for your benefits. Yes they deserve to be punished but not at the cost of their lives."
Adamsen," like I said if I see you near them I'll end them."
After saying that Adamsen left me in the room alone. Losing part of your memory really sucks you know. How do I know what happened and whom I should protect? I called Rachel over to the house. Adamsen doesn't have a problem with her so yeah.
Mahira," thanks for coming on such a short notice Rachel."
Rachel," well I have an urgent meeting to attend so please be quick boss."
Mahira," please close the door first and make sure it's locked."
Rachel was confused but she locked the door.
Mahira," as you know there are some things I don't remember. I want to know who's right and who's wrong okay. Tell me everything about my past."
Rachel," Boss... well... your health might get affected if you force yourself to remember."
Mahira," right now I really don't care. It's important for me to remember everything."
Rachel," okay. Since you insist I'll tell you what I know. You have been in love with Thane since high school. You have two sons, Angelo and Alexander. Elena is your fairy goddaughter but in your case she's more like a daughter to you. Kaashvi is your best friend. Thane and you got married but had a divorce recently."
Mahira," then these memories I have of Thane and my son's and everyone hating me and mistreating me. Are they true or not?"
Rachel," ma'am I don't know much but those memories are true. They happened. Unfortunately you can only remember the bad they have done. So it's up to you to forgive them and give them a chance so I can't say much about it."
As Rachel narrated some of my memories I slowly remembered them but my head hurt with each memory I got. The pain intensified but I just wanted to remember and if it meant fighting this pain then I'd gladly do it. Suddenly a little girl appeared wearing white.
Little girl," Mahi...how long will you keep ruining everything....did I not tell you to die... you deserve death... you don't deserve happiness."
The pain became unbearable and I fainted. I woke up and found myself in the same room. Adamsen was sitting there. He had his calm usual face so I decided to talk to him whilst the kindness lasts.
Mahira," we had a deal that I'd warm your bed for one year and I did that. Now that deal is off why are you keeping me as captive."
Adamsen," Why can't you love me Mahi? What do I lack Mahi?"
Mahira," Love cannot be forced Adam. I agreed to be friends with you then why are you trying to force a relationship. Why don't you move on?"
Adamsen," Thane has ruined you. Why do you stay. Give me a chance atleast Mahi. I came before him then why Mahi? Why don't you give me a chance? Just give me a chance to love you and treat you well Mahi."
Mahira," not again Adam. I can't love you. I only have him in my heart even if he hurt me Adamsen. I wish you could find someone who would love you but that's not me."
Adamsen," if I let you go ,be free . Be with your family what will happen?"
Mahira," I'm not getting back with Thane. We can be friends Adamsen. I won't treat you any differently. I just want my son's and Elena. Thane ....well he ...has moved on."
Adamsen hugged me when I started crying setting aside his own wishes. I so wish he wasn't in love with me you know because I couldn't even reciprocate his love for me. He was a good person. He stroked my hair gently while assuring me that he'd never hurt me.
Adamsen," I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused. Please don't hate me. I will atone for me sin's. I'll keep you safe. I won't hurt you."
He raised my head for me to face him.
Adamsen," you can go to your family...but don't forget me okay."
I hugged him
Mahira," thank you... thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you thank you so much."
I stayed in Adamsen's villa for a week because I wanted my wound's to heal. Tomorrow was Angelo and Alexander's birthday so I'd surprise them. I was just glad that Adamsen didn't keep me captive. Im glad he didn't force me to be with him. Im glad he didn't do anything to me. In a way im grateful because finding people like him is difficult. People like him are rare to find. He was a really good friend. I was excited that I'd be seeing my children ina few hours to come. I don't know if Thane and I will ever be together but to be honest im scared to be with him again. Im really scared of him because he's capable of anything.
