Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Mihawk's Destiny Item

Chapter 138: Mihawk's Destiny Item

A product that could fulfill his wish.

Mihawk walked over to the shelf with a rare sense of unease and reached out to touch one of the softly glowing lights.

The glow slowly dissipated, and a pure white seed dropped into his palm.

A light screen appeared, displaying the item's stats.

[Sword Seed Lv.1 (White)]: A foundational seed from a fantasy world. Upon activation, it plants a sword seed within the player's body.

Mihawk's eyes filled with doubt.

A sword seed inside the body?

A sword is a sword—was it supposed to grow like a plant now?

Fang Yi raised his brows in surprise. He hadn't expected fate to guide Mihawk toward this item.

Seeing the confusion on Mihawk's face, Fang Yi explained with a smile, "When the body is trained to its limit, one awakens Armament Haki. When the mind reaches its peak, one awakens Observation Haki. Will and spirit give rise to Conqueror's Haki. Similarly, in some sword-centric worlds, the fusion of body, mind, will, and soul produces something called a Sword Seed."

"As the swordsman grows, so does the sword seed—condensing Sword Intent, nurturing Sword Heart, cultivating Sword Soul, and eventually opening the Sword Domain…"

"You don't have to take my word for it. If you'd like, you can purchase a demonstration video."

A black line of text appeared.

[Play [Sword Intent] Video?]: Price: 2,000 Reward Points.

Sword Intent, Sword Heart, Sword Soul, Sword Domain.

Mihawk's eyes turned serious. He pondered Fang Yi's words and instinctively realized these terms likely pertained to an entirely different swordsmanship tradition from another world.

"I don't have reward points."

"You can trade any item you own for reward points," Fang Yi patiently explained. "You can also sell them permanently for more points—but you'll lose the item for good."

Mihawk didn't hesitate. He immediately offered up his top-tier Observation and Armament Haki, as well as his vast knowledge of swordsmanship—his greatest asset.

That exchange netted him 30,000 reward points.

He immediately played the video.

It showed two swordsmen locked in battle.

As their blades clashed, waves of mysterious energy-filled Sword Qi exploded in every direction until one swordsman was finally defeated.

Mihawk stood frozen, deeply absorbed. "This… is Sword Intent?"

You didn't pay for a video like this to watch a movie.

It was immersive—like experiencing the battle in person, like standing among the duelists.

"Their strikes didn't split seas or cleave mountains, but they carried a power unlike anything I've felt before."

He contemplated it deeply and came to a conclusion.

Even though his own slashes were hailed as the strongest in the world, they would have been torn apart by either of those men.

The gap between their sword strikes was like cotton versus refined steel.

Fang Yi nodded. "That's right. That is the power of Sword Intent."

At its peak, Sword Intent gives rise to Sword Heart, which can then cultivate Sword Soul…

Mihawk instinctively wanted to view the next video, [Sword Heart].

But a system prompt denied him access—he lacked the qualifications.

Sword Seed was Tier 1.

Sword Intent was Tier 2.

Sword Soul touched on Tier 3, accessible only to players at Level 60 or higher.

Though Mihawk was powerful, he couldn't escape his world's limitations.

He was still at the peak of Tier 1.

For ordinary people, peeking into Tier 3 would be like watching a fantasy cartoon. But for a swordsman like Mihawk, he would instinctively analyze and reflect—and his current mental strength couldn't withstand it. It might break his mind or drive him mad.

"Such powerful Sword Intent… What an extraordinary world of swordsmanship."

Mihawk's eyes gleamed with desire. If he had been born in such a world, he might have long since stepped into this realm of unparalleled swordsmanship.

This was what he had always sought—the next level.

Although [Sword Seed Lv.1] was only white-tier, it was extremely rare. It cost 15,000 reward points.

Mihawk nodded slightly. After subtracting the 2,000 points used to view the video, he still had enough left to buy the seed.

Just then,

Fang Yi raised his hand slightly. "Don't rush. Take a look at the remaining four items before you decide."

Mihawk blinked in surprise. So engrossed in the Sword Intent video, he had almost forgotten—there were four more fate-selected items.

"Thank you for your generosity."

Though he was certain he would choose the Sword Seed, Mihawk still took a moment to look.

He quickly realized he was very wrong.

The second item was a two-part set.

A strange, pitch-black substance emitting a bloody mist, and a device that resembled a chain-linked brace.

Fang Yi explained kindly, "The black substance is mutated energy from the Arad World. It grants you an arm capable of channeling demonic power. The device on the right is a limiter—to temporarily suppress that arm's strength."

"Rebirth through destruction. Pursuing swordsmanship to its extreme in madness."

"If the path of the Sword Seed is to forge your soul and will into a blade, then this path is about pure pursuit—mastering the ultimate swordplay through relentless, unhinged training."

[Play [Sword Soul] Video?]: Price: 2,000 Reward Points.

"Play it."

Mihawk used more points, and the video began.

It showed a man suppressing a demonic arm's power while endlessly refining his sword techniques, honing his strikes, and strengthening his body.

Glorious sword skills filled the screen—mastery over all weapons—powerful enough to cut down demons.

"A completely different form of swordsmanship!"

Mihawk exhaled slowly. The energy of that rampaging sword aura still echoed in his chest.

Every dominant slash felt like a sword drawn straight from his soul.

No wonder Fang Yi wanted him to view the rest.

Price: 13,000 Reward Points.

For the first time, Mihawk's always-sharp gaze faltered with indecision.

Anyone who knew him would have been stunned—he was actually torn between choices.

The third item came from the world of Soul Reapers.

Like Kisame's trial reward, it granted the power of a Soul Reaper.

"A Zanpakutō?"

Mihawk didn't pick it but nodded in recognition of its power.

The fourth item—

A sword cultivation technique from a fantasy world: [Jade Light Sword Technique], purple-tier.

Training it would allow the Sword Seed to develop Jade Light Sword Qi.

The fifth item—

A unique skill from the Sword Soul class of Arad: [True Ghost Swordsmanship], a sword style born from fully mastering weapon arts.

"If you really can't decide, you can buy them all."

Fang Yi's tone was gentle. "When you entered the Game House, fate had already made its choice. Both the Sword Seed and Sword Soul paths suit you well. They're fully compatible."

That was the Samsara Game's greatest feature.

As long as you had enough points, and could handle the cost, you could become proficient in all classes. There were no limits.

And in this case, the two sword styles were already naturally aligned.

"But I don't have enough reward points."

"No problem. I happen to have a debt note right here…"
