Chapter 85 - CHAPTER EIGHTY FIVE: Turbulent Waters

The sound of the river was almost deafening, and it seemed to be mixed with something else - a strange, gurgling noise that sounded like swimming, and a low, muttering voice that seemed to be coming from the water itself. But when they looked into the river, they saw nothing.

"What's going on?" Bisola whispered, her eyes wide with fear. "What is that noise?"

"I don't know," TJ replied, his voice low and cautious. "But I think we need to get out of here, fast."

The group began to wade into the river, trying to make their way to the other side. But as soon as they did, they felt a strange resistance, like an invisible force was pushing back against them. They couldn't see anything in the water, but they could feel the force of the unknown entity, fighting them and trying to hold them back.

Mike stumbled, his foot catching on something invisible, and Gidado grabbed his arm to steady him. "What's going on?" Mike shouted, his voice carrying above the din of the river.

"I don't know!" Gidado yelled back. "But it's like something's attacking us!"

The group struggled to move forward, but it was like trying to walk through a storm. They were being hit from every angle, punched and kicked by unseen forces. Avovome tried to use its power to defend them, but it was like trying to fight a ghost.

"We need to get out of here!" Amina shouted, her voice desperate. "We can't take this much longer!"

But it was too late. The group was being torn apart, unable to see what was attacking them or defend themselves against the invisible forces. They stumbled and fell, the river swirling around them like a living thing.

As they struggled to get back to their feet, the creatures on the riverbank began to move towards them, its eyes gleaming with triumph. The group knew they were in grave danger, and they didn't know how much longer they could hold on.

TJ's eyes locked onto the river, his mind racing with a plan. He knew they couldn't take much more of this invisible assault. With a swift motion, he reached out and activated the artifact's power, focusing it on the river.

Suddenly, the invisible entities in the river became visible, and the group's jaws dropped in shock. The entities were not some mysterious creatures, but rather tendrils and appendages of the very same creatures that were now closing in on them from the riverbank.

The creatures on the riverbank were somehow controlling these tendrils, using them to attack the group from beneath the water. TJ's revelation sparked a new plan in Mike's mind. He swiftly grabbed the artifact from TJ and began to channel its power into a different form.

The air around them began to change, the wind picking up speed and the clouds darkening ominously. A fierce storm was brewing, summoned by Mike's command of the artifact. The creatures on the riverbank halted their approach, momentarily stunned by the sudden turn of events.

The group's faces were set with determination, their eyes fixed on Mike as he wielded the artifact's power. Avovome's eyes gleamed with a fierce inner light, its body tense with anticipation. Bisola's face was pale, but she stood tall, her eyes fixed on the creatures. Gidado's eyes were narrowed, his jaw set in a fierce determination.

"Hold on!" Mike shouted to the group, as he unleashed the full fury of the storm.

The group quickly grabbed onto each other, holding tight as the storm raged around them. The winds howled, the lightning flashed, and the creatures were swept up in the chaos. The group watched in awe as the creatures were lifted off the ground, carried away by the storm to an unknown destination.

The creatures' bodies were twisted and contorted, their limbs flailing wildly as they were tossed about by the storm. Their faces were twisted in rage and fear, their eyes blazing with a fierce inner light. The group's determination and teamwork had given them the upper hand, and they were determined to use it to their advantage.

As the storm raged on, the group clung to each other, their feet barely touching the ground. They were a tight-knit unit, determined to survive this ordeal together. The storm finally began to dissipate, leaving behind an eerie silence.

The group looked at each other, relief etched on their faces. They had made it through another harrowing encounter. But as they gazed out into the distance, they knew their journey was far from over. The creatures might be gone for now, but there were surely more dangers lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike.
