Chapter 67 - CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN: The Trial Of Trust

As they stepped forward, the chamber began to shift and change around them. The walls, once dark and foreboding, began to glow with a soft, ethereal light. The air, once thick with fear and anxiety, began to clear, filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement.

Ego smiled, her eyes gleaming with approval. "The next trial is one of trust," she said. "You must learn to trust each other, and trust yourselves. The trial will test your bonds of friendship and loyalty."

The group exchanged nervous glances. They had faced their fears and overcome them, but trusting each other would be a different challenge altogether.

"What do we need to do?" Amina asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

"You will soon find out," Ego replied, her smile growing wider. "But for now, let us proceed to the next chamber. The trial will begin soon enough."

With that, the group followed Ego to the next chamber, their hearts pounding with anticipation and uncertainty. As they entered the chamber, they were met with a sight that took their breath away.

A massive, ancient-looking bridge stretched across a deep chasm, its cables creaking ominously in the wind. The bridge seemed to be the only way across, and the group knew that they would have to trust each other to make it to the other side.

Stepping onto the bridge, the group gazed down into the chasm below, their hearts racing with fear. The bridge was a rickety, ancient structure, its wooden slats worn smooth by time and weather. The cables that held it up creaked and groaned ominously in the wind, making it seem like the bridge was on the verge of collapse.

Beneath them, a river of fire flowed like liquid, its flames licking at the bridge's supports with hungry tongues. The heat was intense, making the air shimmer and dance. The group could feel the warmth radiating up from the flames, making their skin prickle with sweat.

"This is insane," Gidado whispered, his eyes wide with fear.

"Come on, we can do this," Mike said, his voice firm. "We just need to stay focused and work together."

The group began to make their way across the bridge, their footsteps echoing off the walls of the chasm. The bridge swayed ominously in the wind, making them stumble and grab onto the cables for support.

As they reached the midpoint of the bridge, Bisola's foot slipped on a loose board. She let out a terrified scream as she felt herself falling, her arms flailing wildly as she tried to regain her balance.

Avovome, who was walking beside her, quickly reached out with it long, slender tail. It wrapped it around Bisola's wrist, holding her fast. "I've got you!" Avovome shouted, pulling Bisola back onto the bridge.

Bisola's face was white with fear as she clung to the bridge's cables. "Thank you," she whispered to Avovome.

The group continued on, their hearts pounding in their chests. As they neared the three-quarter mark, TJ's foot got caught in a gap between two boards. He let out a cry of alarm as he felt himself being pulled off balance.

Amina, who was walking behind him, quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him back onto the bridge. "I've got you, TJ!" she shouted, holding him fast.

The bridge creaked and swayed ominously, making the group stumble and grab onto the cables for support. But they refused to give up, their determination driving them forward.

As they neared the end of the bridge, a strong gust of wind hit them, making the bridge lurch violently. The group let out a collective gasp as they stumbled and grabbed onto each other for support.

But they managed to regain their balance, their hearts pounding in their chests. They took a deep breath and continued on, their eyes fixed on the solid ground ahead.

Finally, they reached the end of the bridge, stumbling onto solid ground with sighs of relief. They collapsed onto the ground, their bodies shaking with exhaustion and fear.

Ego smiled, her eyes gleaming with approval. "Well done," she said. "You have passed the second trial. But the next one will be even more challenging."
