Chapter 34 - CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR: The Dragon's Desire

As they walked away from the crystal structure in the center of the cave, and out of the waterfall, the creatures bid them farewell. The group thanked the creatures for their help and guidance, and they continued their journey.

As they walked through the forest, they noticed a figure in the distance. It was a dragon, its scales glinting in the sunlight. At first, the dragon seemed friendly, its eyes warm and welcoming.

"Greetings, travelers," the dragon said, its voice deep and rumbling. "My name is Avovome, and I have been watching you from afar. I must say, I am impressed by your bravery and determination."

The group was taken aback by the dragon's friendly demeanor, and they felt a sense of wonder at its majestic appearance. Mike, however, noticed that the dragon's eyes seemed to be fixed on the crystal pendant he was wearing.

"Ah, you have a beautiful pendant," Avovome said, its voice filled with interest. "May I see it closer?"

Mike hesitated for a moment, but the dragon's friendly demeanor put him at ease. He handed the pendant to Avovome, who examined it closely.

"Ah, this is indeed a powerful artifact," Avovome said, its voice filled with excitement. "The creatures who walk upside down are known for their wisdom and craftsmanship. This pendant is a testament to their skill."

The group noticed that Avovome's eyes seemed to be gleaming with a fierce light, and its voice had taken on a possessive tone.

"I would very much like to have this pendant," Avovome said, its voice dripping with desire. "It would be a great addition to my collection, and it would grant me immense power."

The group exchanged a look, unsure of what to do. They didn't want to give up the pendant, but they also didn't want to anger the dragon.

"I'm afraid we can't give you the pendant," Mike said, trying to sound firm. "It was a gift from the creatures who walk upside down, and it holds great sentimental value to us."

Avovome's expression changed, its eyes flashing with anger. "You refuse my request?" it growled, its voice low and menacing. "Very well, I will take it by force."

The group's eyes widened in fear as Avovome's demeanor changed. Its body began to glow with a fierce, fiery energy, and its eyes burned with an inner fire.

"You should not have refused me," Avovome said, its voice dripping with malice. "Now, you will pay the price for your foolishness."

The group knew that they had to act fast. They prepared to defend themselves against the dragon's attack, knowing that their lives depended on it.

The dragon's eyes blazed with fury as it breathed a stream of fire towards the group. They dodged and weaved, trying to avoid the flames, but Avovome was relentless. It chased after them, its claws swiping through the air with deadly precision.

Mike held up the crystal pendant, hoping that it would offer some protection against the dragon's attack. But Avovome was not deterred, and it continued to breathe fire and swipe at them with its claws.

The group fought back, using their skills and abilities to defend themselves against the dragon's onslaught. But Avovome was a powerful foe, and it seemed to be gaining strength from the crystal pendant.

As the battle raged on, the group began to tire. They were no match for Avovome's brute strength and power. Mike stumbled backward, his eyes fixed on the dragon's fierce gaze.
