"Ruby, where are you?" I questioned, getting scared now; she had been crying for the past three minutes without a word.
What is going on? I'm confused.
"Ruby," I called, walking to my walk-in closet, "I'm coming to you; tell me where you are." I went into my closet, put on a simple outfit, grabbed a bag, and went downstairs.
"Ruby, you have to talk to me. Stop crying and say something. I'm worried," I pleaded.
"I... I..." she started, sniffing.
"What is it?"
"He... Simon..."
"What did Simon do to you? Did he hurt you?" I paused at the bottom of the stairs before asking her.
"Yes... No... I don't know," she continued crying.
"Then why are you crying? Okay, never mind, don't tell me anything—just tell me your location."
"I am standing in front of the Montero Hotel," she said after composing herself.
"Okay, you'll see me soon." I didn't bother to call my driver, Joshua. He must be in his room; he might even be asleep. I'll take a taxi and get Ruby—it'll be faster that way.
