"Sis… you're perfect! How is that even fair?"
Inside the fitting room, Xiao Man gazed at Xiao Yu in awe and envy. Her figure was flawless—no extra fat, smooth curves, and proportions that could rival top-tier fashion models.
"Credit goes to your brother-in-law," Zhao Min added with a teasing tone.
It was a double entendre. On one hand, Chen Mo's advanced potential-enhancing medicine had greatly improved strength, endurance, and even physical conditioning. On the other, well… some credit went to their nightly 'workouts.'
Xiao Man caught the innuendo immediately and grinned mischievously. "Sis, is Zhao Jie telling the truth?"
"Okay, okay—help me change into the dress," Xiao Yu hurriedly deflected, her ears turning bright red as last night's memories flashed through her mind. She couldn't shake the feeling that her secret had been exposed.
With the help of Zhao Min and Xiao Man, Xiao Yu finally changed into the wedding dress.
The moment she stepped out, Xiao Man was stunned.
Wearing the wedding gown, Xiao Yu looked completely transformed. Gone was the quiet, gentle aura she usually carried. Now, she exuded a noble, elegant grace—like a phoenix cloaked in snow.
From Xiao Yu's expression alone, it was obvious she felt genuinely happy and loved. And with someone like Chen Mo who had given her his all, she looked every bit like the heroine of a fairytale.
Even as her sister, Xiao Man felt a faint twinge of envy. If someone like that appeared in my life... I'd fall for him too. But alas, only her sister was lucky enough to have such a man.
Zhao Min, standing to the side, couldn't hide her envy either.
This wedding dress was made specifically for Xiao Yu—tailored precisely to her measurements. On anyone else, it would lose some of its perfection. But on her, it was flawless.
At that moment, Xiao Yu truly looked like a celestial bride descended from the heavens.
The only thing missing was a matching jewelry set, but Zhao Min had no doubt Chen Mo was already working on something even more extravagant.
That man had gone so far as to create a new material just to design this one-of-a-kind dress. In all the world, only Chen Mo could create such a blend of technology and romance.
Who said men of science didn't understand love?
When they did show it... it was in a way no one else could replicate.
"This dress… it's every woman's dream," Zhao Min murmured, gently running her hand across the fabric.
Outside, Chen Mo was pacing a little, quietly waiting.
He had never felt time pass this slowly before. His heart was full of anticipation. What would she look like wearing the dress?
Ten minutes later, the door creaked open, and Xiao Man peeked out with a proud grin.
"Brother-in-law, I'll open the door for you… what's my reward?"
"What do you want?" Chen Mo lightly tapped her forehead.
"The next time I go shopping with Sis, you pay for everything!"
"Deal."
"Aha! You said it!" Xiao Man grinned triumphantly, stepped aside, and gestured with exaggerated flair. "Now go! Behold your perfect bride!"
Chen Mo didn't need a second invitation. He stepped into the room eagerly.
There, in the center of the room, stood Xiao Yu.
Her posture was graceful, her figure enhanced by the dream-fiber fabric and delicate high heels. Even without enhancements, Xiao Yu had a naturally beautiful form, and now—dressed like this—she radiated the aura of a goddess.
If before she had the charm of a jade-like maiden, now she looked like a noble deity come to life.
The wedding dress shimmered with a faint glow under the light. It gave her the appearance of an ethereal fairy, and for a moment, Chen Mo forgot to breathe.
"Well? How do I look?" Xiao Yu asked nervously, her eyes glimmering.
"You're the goddess of fortune… sent to me by the heavens," Chen Mo said softly, as if he were admiring the most perfect piece of art.
Xiao Yu's lips curled into a radiant smile.
"Ugh! Brother-in-law, are you always this corny?" Xiao Man groaned.
"He gets even worse sometimes. It's nauseating," Zhao Min added mercilessly.
Chen Mo gave them both a look but didn't take the bait. Instead, he turned back to Xiao Yu. "Next, I'll show you a little magic trick."
"Ooh? I want to see!" Xiao Yu's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Is it real magic? Let's see what trick he has up his sleeve," Zhao Min said, crossing her arms.
"I'm in," Xiao Man chimed in.
Unbothered by their teasing, Chen Mo said, "This wedding dress has a name—Dream Wedding. Do you know why?"
"Why?" All three women asked at once.
Chen Mo smiled. "You're about to find out. Ink Girl, activate 'Eternal Night.'"
Buzz!
As soon as his voice fell, the lights in the room shut off, and darkness enveloped them.
Then—one by one—holographic nebulae lit up, floating like colorful galaxies around Xiao Yu. The room glowed in a dreamy constellation of light.
"Wow! It's so beautiful… the dress turned black!" Xiao Man gasped.
Zhao Min blinked in astonishment. Her mouth hung open in disbelief as her gaze fell on Xiao Yu.
Under the starlit holograms, the once pure white wedding gown had transformed into shimmering black, dotted with sparkling points of light—like stars against a night sky.
Xiao Yu now radiated a mysterious, almost divine elegance, surrounded by drifting galaxies. Even Xiao Yu herself looked down in amazement.
"What's going on? Why did the dress change color?" Zhao Min asked.
She had seen this dress before. She knew it was beautiful. But this—this was something else entirely. She had never known it could transform.
"The essence of diamonds is carbon. The essence of jade is sodium aluminum silicate," Chen Mo said mysteriously. "But trying to explain romance with science is boring. Some mysteries are better left unsolved."
He grinned. "I just didn't want Xiao Yu to be startled when her dress changes color at the wedding. Better to give her a sneak peek."
Zhao Min looked at the glowing stars on the dress, then at Xiao Yu again, her eyes full of longing. "Little fish, if your husband doesn't design a set like this for me, I might just have to steal him."
Xiao Man followed suit. "Sis, if you won't share, I'll haunt him every day until he gives in. I want one too!"
Surrounded by these "threats," Xiao Yu turned to Chen Mo with a smile that was warm but held a warning glint.
She understood perfectly—if she were in their shoes, she'd want the dress too.
But she wasn't about to make the decision for him.
Chen Mo, however, could feel the pressure. One wrong word now, and he might be sleeping in the lab tonight.
"I'll design a set for both of you. Free of charge," he said quickly.
Xiao Yu's expression instantly softened with satisfaction, and the tension in Chen Mo's shoulders melted away.
Half an hour later, Xiao Yu changed out of the dress.
She had tried it on. It fit perfectly. It looked like a dream. Now, she would save it—only to wear it again for her wedding photos and, ultimately, the big day itself.
As she left the room, Xiao Yu cast one last look at the dress displayed in the wardrobe.
Her gaze was full of reluctance to part with it.
