Keith's POV
I felt my pride crack, a sharp, hot sensation in my chest. This woman was sitting there, looking at us with suspicious eyes, and I could barely contain the fury simmering under my skin.
She came to this place, dressed like that, and her grand plan was to use it as a weapon against us? To make us so disgusted we'd let her go?
Who did she think she was fooling? The audacity was staggering.
And Kieran, the idiot, was eating it up. I could feel the amusement rolling off him, could see the way he leaned in, playing his part as the charming, understanding stranger.
He wanted her to keep up this ridiculous charade. Why? For the sport of it? To see how far she'd go?
Then I heard her voice, small and uncertain. "This seems too good to be true."
Nothing about this situation is "good" for you. You're playing with fire, and you have no idea who you're burning.
