Eleanor's POV
The moment we entered the privacy of the apartment at the Queen's estate, Mira and Roxy descended on me. The golden 5pm light streaming through the windows did nothing to soften the intensity in their eyes.
I'd given them every detail of how i found out that the triplets were my mate. I'd told them everything, except for the one moment that felt like a stolen secret: finding Kayden in a vulnerable position, his pain a raw, palpable thing I couldn't understand but had felt in my own soul.
Roxy, sprawled on the plush couch like a contented cat, was the first to break the silence.
"So what you want," she said, her gaze sharpening, "is ideas on how to reject the triplets." She shook her head, a faint, incredulous smile on her lips. "Won't that be phenomenally awkward? You work for them."
"The contract is only for two years," I said, clinging to the clause like a life raft. "I can manage two years. I'll just… keep my head down and do my job."
