Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE

Liam

My BMW choked, coughed and died on a dim, empty street.

"No. No. What the fuck– come on!"

I jabbed the ignition. It sputtered once…then gave up with a final, pathetic wheeze.

This was not how my night was supposed to go. Not even close.

I knew I had to call Williams back to tell him that he couldn't go home just yet.

I rolled my eyes feeling highly annoyed. I listened to the call beep as I rang William's line.

He answered on the third beep, "Hello, boss."

"Yeah, don't take the night off just yet. I need you to reach my home and get my Porsche. My BMW just broke down."

"Alright, boss. On it. Where are you right now?"

I took my phone out of my ear and shared my location with Williams, "Yeah, I just shared my location with you. Come pick me up."

"Okay, boss. I'll be there in twenty minutes."

"Make it fifteen." I said to him and cut the call.

I stepped out from my BMW and stood beside it while people-watching. After 2 minutes, heavy drizzles started to fall from the sky.

 Great. How fucking great.

I hurriedly walked under a shed in the dark corners of the street.

Just then, the back door of something that looked like a Cafe opened up and two gorgeous girls that were in waitress uniforms stepped out.

I wanted to take away my eyes because it was a reflex. I never stared at ladies longer than 2 seconds, no matter how gorgeous they might be.

But there was something about this pair. Something that made me not to be able to look away. They had a fire around them.

One was a redhead with bright, shiny eyes. She was energetic and loud. She was like someone that would be the life of the party. She looked wildly dangerous.

The other was a brunette with softer features. She looked calmer but with a straight and determined look on her face. Her almond dreamy eyes gave her an ethereal look.

Apart from the fact that I was a sucker for brunettes, there was something about this particular brunette; I couldn't take my eyes off her.

Was it her poise? Was it the way she carried herself? Her posture? The way she tilted her hips to one side and leaned her weight on one leg? Was it how she pursed and pouted her little red lips while waiting for her friend to finish being frantic?

She just intrigued me and I couldn't place my finger on exactly why.

Their conversation intrigued me further and I raised my brow in amusement.

The redhead said, her eyes wide, "Fuck this!! I left my butt at home!!"

 Huh??

The brunette said in a much calmer voice," I left my boobs and butt at home."

 The fuck?

I chuckled to myself, wondering what exactly they were talking about.

I would have looked like a creep, just standing there, listening to two beautiful girls have the weirdest conversation, but it was getting dark and I was standing in a corner. Also, the midnight blue suit I was wearing was helping to make me less conspicuous.

"God, we are so getting fired….You have to reach home to get it, Ava." The brunette said to her redheaded friend, Ava, I learned.

Ava stared at the brunette like she couldn't believe her, "What? That is going to take me three minutes minimum and we're already on thin ice. That man has already signified that today is his birthday and stupid Mr Maurice has already told us to go wear up our butt and boobs."

"That man saying today is his birthday is a bloody fool. He's such a pervert. How many times is he going to have his birthday in a year? This is like the 7th time, if I'm not miscounting and we're just five months into the year." The brunette was saying. You could see that she was pissed yet amused at the same time," He knows the boobs and ass we wear is fake, right??"

"He's the fool?" Her friend, Ava dived in for her own rant, "Mr Maurice is the bloody fool. Why the hell does he have a policy that his workers should dance for whoever has a birthday that day? And as if that's not enough, he has to make us look like clowns and tell us to wear those fake pads in our boobs and ass because apparently ours is too small??"

I chuckled again. Mr Maurice, who I'm guessing should be their employer, did sound like a bloody fool.

The brunette sighed," As you can see, whatever strategy that is, is working. He has a lot of loyal customers that come in here with their friends saying it's their birthday."

"It's like a mini strip joint," Ava said, exaggerating.

The brunette chuckled and then, pushing Ava by the shoulder, she said, "Move, Ava! Take no more than 5 minutes. I'll cover for you."

"Why can't I be the one who covers for you while you run back home to get it?"

The brunette sighed, "Yeah, right. We both know you're way faster."

Ava nodded," Yeah, you didn't seem to recognize that this morning though."

The brunette chuckled and I can't lie, I was in love with her smile. She pushed on her friend's shoulder again, "Gooo!"

Ava didn't need anyone to tell her again, she turned and sprinted away.

I raised my brow in surprise.

 Damn, she is fast.

 She could audition for Flash.

I had never seen a girl run that fast before.

What the hell is wrong with me? Since when did I become a people-watching creep?

I watched the brunette return to the Cafe while I wondered what her name was and why I was so drawn to her personality.

I looked at my wristwatch again and noted that it had been 10 minutes since my car broke down. I had a few more minutes till Williams showed up.

It wasn't up to 5 minutes and Ava was back, running like a cheetah under the rain. I marveled.

What kind of girls are these?

She hurried back into the Cafe with a bag on her shoulder. I'm sure the bag contained their boobs and ass.

I shook my head, smiling to myself.

A lot of clowns in New York City.

A few minutes later the Cafe started booming with the music "Shake it to the max" by Moliy and Silent Addy.

Normal me didn't care about what people were doing. I hated to look at people and stare at what didn't concern me. But, this evening, I felt so out of character.

Curiosity got the better part of me and I so wanted to know what was going on in that Cafe. Especially due to the loud laughter, claps, and whoops that were also coming from the Cafe.

I quickly walked away from the corner where I was standing and hurried to the large transparent windows of the Cafe.

I folded my lips in amusement at what I was seeing.

Ava and her brunette friend were dancing around some man, probably in his thirties, who was grinning widely.

The brunette had a really small cake in her hands while she and Ava danced around the man.

Their moves weren't bad but what was making me laugh was their voluminous boobs and ass. It was so obvious that it was fake. Mr Maurice just wanted them out there, looking like clowns. He obviously liked the way it entertained his customers. Both the "celebrant" and the other customers that were around that period.

I won't even lie it was really entertaining. Here I was standing outside the window yet being entertained.

Just then, my phone started buzzing. I looked at the screen. It was Williams.

"Yeah?" I said immediately I picked up the call.

"Boss, I'm here but I can't seem to find you anywhere."

I looked across the street and saw my matte black Porsche parked out there. I saw Williams standing on the street, looking left and right, with an open black umbrella over his head.

"Coming." I said and cut the call.

I took one last look at Ava and the intriguing brunette still dancing and smiled to myself.

I turned my back on them and started walking towards Williams, the drizzles hitting my hair and body.

When Williams spotted me, he started running towards me, the umbrella still over his head.

As Williams jogged towards me, I kept my eyes on the café.

 Tomorrow? Yeah. I had plans.
