CHAPTER 36
CHLOE'S POV
I was still in the art class when I saw people rushing out of their classes in one direction. I came out of the art class and asked a girl what was going on.
"There's a fight. Two basketball players", was all she said before she practically ran off.
I was curious so I headed to the basketball court and saw that it was Keith and Nolan.
Keith and I locked eyes for a moment and I wanted to leave but Nolan used Keith's distraction against him, and punched him in the face. His nose was bleeding and I knew that I had to do something.
I hurried over to where they were and stood in their middle. They stopped and glared at each other.
"What is wrong with you guys?", I screamed.
"He was trash talking me", Keith said and Nolan hissed.
"He keeps getting on my nerves", Nolan countered. They kept arguing and I had no choice but to yell out
"BOTH OF YOU SHOULD SHUT THE FUCK UP!", and there was silence. You could actually hear a pin drop.
"Both of need to see the school nurse and I mean it", I grabbed their hands and led them through the crowd to the nurse's office. I could hear whispers and gossips but I couldn't care less.
The nurse attended to Nolan while I attended to Keith.
"Tell me if it hurts"
"It doesn't because you're being gentle"
"Why would you fight with someone when you know you still have injuries from on Saturday?"
"I didn't think. I just...."
"Violently handled the situation", I finished his statement and he chuckled.
"Right. Why are you avoiding me?"
"Can we not talk about that now or ever?"
"I'd like to know"
"Just shut up and stay still so I can clean your wounds", I commanded and he obeyed.
All these while, Nolan has been glaring daggers our way, mostly to Keith. His fists clenched and his jaw tightened.
" Stop glaring, Nolan", I said and he froze.
I asked the nurse to switch with me and I attended to Nolan's wounds.
" You look amazing today", Nolan complimented.
" Don't push it"
Now, Keith was the one glaring daggers at Nolan. I guess the nurse can feel the tension, because when we were both done, she asked me to stay back for a brief chat.
The guys left but not at once, and I sat down on the bed.
"What'd you wanna talk about, Miss Freya?"
"I noticed that the two guys were kinda fighting over you and I wanted to inquire what the problem was"
" Ok, so..... Nolan and I were dating, but I broke up with him because he was having an affair with my ex-best friend. Now, Keith is my nextdoor neighbor who I haven't spoken to in years. We became friends and hung out a lot. Things started happening and he told me he was in love with me. I guess my ex is jealous and that's all about that"
" I've actually been in your kind of situation but I couldn't handle it, I just let time play it's part and now I'm getting married"
" Wow. What actually happened?"
" My ex got all possessive and threatened to kill my fiance but he got arrested and I have my happy ending"
" That's nice. I just hope I get mine too"
" I'm sensing there's more to the story than what you've told me"
" I'm developing feelings for Keith and that's one thing I don't want to happen"
" Why? Having feelings is natural"
" I know but you might not get my reason"
" And what is your reason?"
" That will be a topic for another day, I have to get to class", I stood up.
" We'll, it was nice talking with you. Come visit me sometime. I get bored sitting alone in here", she joked.
" I will. How about we have lunch together in here today"
" That would be very nice, thanks", she said and I left her office heading to the art class to grab my stuff.

KEITH'S POV
When Chloe asked the nurse to switch places with her, I was pissed.
Is she deliberately trying to piss me off???
"You look amazing today", Nolan complimented.
"Don't push it", she said and continued tending to his wounds.
When she and the nurse were done, the nurse asked her to stay back, Nolan left first before I did and immediately I got out of her office, I met Nolan leaning on the wall, near the door.
Fuck!
Guess he wants another round, huh?
I ignored him and was heading to my first class when he stopped me and started speaking.
"This isn't over"
"What do you mean 'this isn't over'? I already whooped your ass"
"No, you didn't. I only stopped beating you up because of Chloe. Else, you would've had more bruises and maybe a broken arm"
" I don't give a fuck if we're in school or not, I'm gonna beat you to a pulp"
" In your dreams"
"Wanna test me?"
"Hell, yeah"
" Would you guys quit it?", Chloe whisper-yelled when she got to us.
" Both of you are lucky no teacher found out, else you guys would've been in detention or even worse. Instead of both of you to just walk away and pretend not to know each other, you wanna go another round? What is wrong with the both of you?", she grunted and walked away.
" You caused this and now she's mad at me", I said to Nolan.
" I caused this? You must be really dumb", he said and walked away, going to the basketball court.
He has an unfinished business with our coach.
I headed to my first class that I had with Chloe.

So, Chloe avoided me throughout all our classes and didn't even show up for lunch at the cafeteria.
Did I do something wrong??
I'm waiting for her beside my car and I spotted her coming out of the school. She froze when she saw me and ran away.
I ran after but she was way ahead so I just stopped and turned back.
I was about getting into my car when my phone rang.
Dad
Shit!
Could this day get any worse?
"Good afternoon dad"
"My house in 15 minutes", and he hung up.
How'd he expect me to get there in 15 minutes. From our school to his house is a 30-minutes drive so how'd he want me to get there in half the time?
I uttered a few curse words before getting in the car. I intentionally drove really slow and had to make a stop at a burger shop.
"Hey dad", I said my mouthful of burger and fries.
"What took you so long to get here?"
"I had to make a stop"
"To get food?"
"Yeah, I was hungry and I haven't had anything to eat since morning so.....yeah"
"Anyways, I don't have time for your nonsense. Go shower and put this on. You're coming with me to the company", he handed me a complete CEO attire.
"Not again. Why do you keep doing this?"
"We don't have time to argue, just do as I have said"

CHLOE'S POV
It was lunchtime so I headed to the nurse's office and we chatted about lots of things.
Who knew nurses were this fun?!
And when school was over,I was heading out when Keith came into my line of view. I froze, not knowing what what to do.
When he was coming closer, I ran away.
I ran as fast as my legs could carry until he turned back.
I got home panting and soaking wet with sweat. I head into my bathroom and had a cold shower to help clear my head.
I don't know if what I'm doing is right but I am still gonna set boundaries.
I fell asleep in the tub...
