It started, as most problems did, with Roux.
Specifically, with Roux finding something he absolutely should not have found and then doing exactly what anyone who knew Roux would expect him to do with it.
Yuuji was in the middle of breakfast — actual breakfast, real food, no sentient toast incidents for four days running which was practically a personal record — when Roux dropped into the seat across from him with the energy of a man holding a live grenade and enjoying it enormously.
"So," Roux said.
"No," Yuuji said.
"I found something."
"I don't want to know."
"You really do though."
"Roux—"
Roux placed a sketchbook on the table.
Yuuji recognized it immediately. Small, leather bound, slightly worn at the corners. Aisha's sketchbook. The one she'd shown him yesterday with the drawing of him and Elira on the steps.
He stared at it.
"Where did you get that," he said very carefully.
