Another window, slightly smaller and overlaid with intricate, glowing script, appeared beside the first. Eryndor squinted, his eyes struggling to make sense of the strange symbols.

[Once you have gotten up to level 5, any magic beast you kill, you will be sent a notification to acquire it's skill and equipment or not]
The System's voice continued sending another notification to the screen and he touched it and it took him to his first quest.

'summoning? I thought d ranks can't do it, ' he wondered. "I don't even have any magic how do you expect me to complete all this quest? Summoning? I can't even lit a single candle by my own will," his voice turning hoarse but calm to avoid the students who might pass by to hear.
The computer voice answered him, [The system has already granted you powers to do such things, it's up to you find out what powers you have, I am a guide and when you start acquiring skills and leveling up, I'll be the one to inform you]
"And what will happen if I don't complete the quest or if I don't even try at all?" He asked still staring at the screen in puzzlement.
[Your status will be the one to decrease that is the result you get for not completing it but if you did not even give it a try, if you did not give it a try, your level will decrease, same as your status and the skills you've acquired will be taken away] The feminine voice responded.
"That's kinda cruel," he remarked and scrolled down the screen and he read it's content.

"Whoa! I never imagined this would happen to me," he grinned, "my dream of becoming an archmage will come to pass," he smiled and he heard the computer say
[Do you accept the quest Eryndor Thorne?]
"Alright," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "Alright, System. I... I accept." As the words left his lips, the Quest Alert window glowed brighter for a moment, then dimmed, its blue light replaced by a faint, steady pulse. The other windows remained, an undeniable presence.
[Quest accepted]the System intoned.
[Your journey begins, Eryndor, if you need any more questions don't hesitate to ask me.] The screen disappeared leaving Eryndor in a state of confusion, Eryndor's head spun, a strom of panicked questions erupting in his mind. "How will I be able to complete the quest when I don't have magic and it's telling me to cast a spell, what the hell." He cursed out burying his head on his palm.
He'd never done anything like magic or spells he only has knowledge to them, let alone a full-blown spell. Where would he even begin to learn? And spellbooks – were they simply lying around for anyone to pick up? 'maybe they might be in the academy library since it's a magic academy, they will have it right?' he asked himself in his thought still flustered and was uncertain about the next step to take
The idea felt absurd, a cruel joke played by the universe. He paced around the environ but still near the beach but wasn't sitting on it, the unfamiliar weight of this new reality pressing down on him, a heavy, suffocating blanket. He clutched at his temples, trying to still the frantic questions of his thoughts. Finally, exhausted by the sheer volume of his internal turmoil, he gave up. He just wanted to escape the confusion, if only for a few hours.
With a heavy sigh, Eryndor walked out of the common area and back towards his dorm. His shoulders slumped, the picture of defeat. Unbeknownst to him, a pair of observant, hazel eyes followed his retreating figure from the shadowed archway of a nearby corridor. Blonde hair, like spun sunlight, pushing her glasses up to the bridge of her nose, a flicker of something unreadable – curiosity? in her eyes.
"Hmmm, Eryndor Thorne I am still wondering how you passed the exams even without magic." The girl said to her self, her eyes still tailing behind his back as he left her sight.
Meanwhile, in a dimly lit study in a building were the high authorities reside, a young girl with the same striking blonde hair as the observer in the corridor but the eyes of this one were blue, she stood before her father, a man whose face bore the lines of both wisdom and weariness. She spoke in a hushed, yet urgent tone.
"Father," she began, her voice barely a whisper, "The new student." her voice came out bold with suspicion in her voice.
The man, engrossed in a book bound in ancient leather, simply grunted in acknowledgment, his eyes still scanning the pages of the book. "what is it about the new student" he prompted, without looking up.
"our guess was correct about him father," she continued, a strange mix of suspicion and fervent in her voice.
"And what are you talking about Julianne, if it is nothing important can you let me read, you met me concentrating on this book and all you have to do is to disrupt my reading, if you don't have anything important to tell me....the door is unlocked," the man stern and cold voice filled the room, his eyes still scrolling through the pages, two black marks under one of his eyes which are rare for people with magic, some has one each or only one but it was rare to find two located at a particular eye, to indicate how strong that person might be, it was still normal to not have any although the ones with the mark are more stronger, only few were stronger than the one marked ones and Julianne fell in that category of people.
"do who knows who I'm speaking about father?" She asked her gaze solemn and fixated on her father, who wore a blue robe with golden embroidery designs on it.
"It's Van Leon right?" He asked still not staring at her.
She sighed and continued, "I am talking about Eryndor Thorne father," she informed and his eyes lit up and his face got more serious and he turned to look at her.
"What about him have you find out about him yet?" He demanded.
"Our guess was correct father," his brow narrowed at her quizzically, "he is the grandson of Arinthal Thorne father,"
"What!"
