Chapter 242 - Chapter 242: The Concept for a Moon Base! Let the Games Begin! Professor Olvia!

On the way to the factory zone, Judge was excitedly trying to communicate with the small robots.

He concluded that these small robots did possess a certain level of intelligence. It was roughly equivalent to that of a seven or eight-year-old child, and they showed a strong ability to understand human speech.

They just couldn't speak, only responding with various actions.

This was likely because their designated role was that of bottom-tier soldiers, left behind to guard this abandoned city, so speaking ability wasn't necessary.

This was already astonishing!

They weren't merely following pre-programmed instructions; they were genuinely capable of thought!

Furthermore, they possessed a learning ability commensurate with their level of intelligence. Judge taught them a few words from the Blue Sea, and they quickly understood and responded accordingly.

It was truly magnificent!

Despite their cold, metallic bodies, what lay deep inside was a mind genuinely close to that of a human!

"The Birkas have practically created a new species out of thin air!"

Judge's exclamations were nonstop throughout the journey. Finally, he came to his ultimate conclusion with an expression of awe.

Although the level of intelligence was far from that of a mature human, they had taken the crucial first step from zero to one!

Using this as a foundation for further research, manufacturing robots truly indistinguishable from humans would be no difficult task!

In fact, these robots were just the basic models. When the Birkas left the moon, they must have already created far more advanced robots!

This was the true meaning of creating new life!

The last words left by Joy Boy merely mentioned the existence of a nation with super-advanced technology, but it never said it was advanced to this degree!

After Judge's explanation, the other cadres couldn't help but marvel. It sounded absolutely incredible just to hear it, right?

Only Roa remained calm throughout. After all, he already knew.

He even knew that in the future, although it's unknown where the technology was excavated from, Dr. Tsukimi on Karakuri Island did create a more advanced version of the robots.

Although those robots had the same appearance as these, their level of intelligence was far more sophisticated. They could cry and laugh, communicate normally with humans, and even understand the concept of revenge.

It could be said that, apart from their appearance, they were virtually indistinguishable from normal humans.

Again, don't overthink the black technology in this world.

In any case, the small robots soon led the group to the factory area of the abandoned city.

It was a vast area.

As they entered, everyone noticed that many of the factories had been cleared out.

Of course, quite a few were left behind, and they were still plentiful.

And these machines, which hadn't been taken away, were still functional!

"The materials and the craftsmanship are both astounding," said Judge, a scientist who understood the value of these machines better than anyone. "The gap in materials science and processing technology is simply too vast."

"Is it useful?" Roa asked directly.

The purpose of coming here was, after all, to remedy the flaws in their technology.

Knowing what to do but lacking the craftsmanship to meet the requirements and produce quality finished products—this was the problem that had recently plagued Judge.

And this was a problem of the most basic processing capability; there was no clever way to bypass it.

"Yes!"

Judge stated firmly, "Most of the machinery left behind are basic processing equipment. Although they are not cutting-edge and cannot be used directly, they are absolutely what we need!"

"By researching them as a foundation, we should be able to manufacture the processing equipment we require."

"Excellent."

Roa nodded in satisfaction.

Exactly. What's a Big Mom Pirates? Just a workshop. If you want manufacturing, you need large-scale processing plants.

"Furthermore," Judge looked at the small robots that had guided them. "Their existence should also greatly assist in the research of the Pluton's control system!"

The Pluton is roughly composed of three parts: the fire-power system, the energy system, and the control system.

Despite dating from the past, this ship—which should rightly be called a ship of the future—couldn't possibly be controlled by sailors like an ordinary battleship.

It must possess an extraordinary control system.

"Then this trip was certainly worthwhile." Roa chuckled.

"As expected of the Boss!" Judge's face was full of awe. "You anticipated from the beginning that coming here would be fruitful! Truly amazing!"

"Hahaha!" Roa, though long accustomed to the flattery of his subordinates, still laughed. "Well, what are we waiting for? Take everything useful with you."

So, the Calamity City began its descent. Clone Soldiers began to emerge, dismantling all the useful machinery in the ruins and transferring them back to the Calamity City.

There was a minor interlude when the small robots initially refused to leave the ruins. They were adhering to the last command left by the Birkas: to continue guarding the ruins.

But Roa pondered for a moment, then had King communicate with the small robots.

Suddenly, the small robots became compliant.

A command issued by the current masters would naturally overwrite the last command given by the former masters.

A group of cute little robots was added to the Calamity City.

While the Clone Soldiers were busy transporting the machinery from the ruins, Roa led the group on a stroll through the remnants.

Thanks to being buried deep underground and the construction technology, the ruins were still remarkably well-preserved, even after countless years.

The overall architectural style resembled Birkana on Skypiea, as they shared the same heritage.

However, the sense of technology was far greater. Traces of various technologies were everywhere: shining streetlights, air conditioning systems that began operating, and huge glass spheres for energy storage, among others.

But it was empty.

It was clear that the migration preparation was thorough. The only things left in all the houses were everyday items covered in thick dust.

Of course, there might have been other things, but they had likely been erased over the long course of time.

In the center of the ruins, inside a pyramid-like structure, Roa saw the murals that Enel saw in the original story. They detailed the history of the Birkas, from their rise to power to their migration to the Blue Star after their resources were depleted.

"What a pity," Judge sighed genuinely after seeing the murals. "The Birkas surely never thought that after traveling to the Blue Star, the future they desired would not come to pass."

"If Joy Boy had won back then, the world surely wouldn't be as it is now. Technology would have truly changed the world for the better."

"The loser is the loser!" Teach snorted. "What's there to say?"

"If we're talking about changing the world," Dylan interjected with a smile, "it must be the Boss!"

Roa smiled, then suddenly said, "What do you think about building a base on the moon?"

"A base?" Dylan was a little surprised. "Boss, what are you thinking? The moon is too far from our planet. Travel is extremely inconvenient, and even Den Den Mushi communication is difficult to establish."

"The World Government is constantly snapping at our heels," Roa said. "And our production scale will only continue to expand: Artificial Devil Fruits, Clone Soldiers, Lineage Factor Synthetics, and the Pluton. Soon, the Calamity City won't be enough. We need a production base that is genuinely safe."

"I see," Judge nodded in agreement. "As expected of the Boss, truly far-sighted! It's very feasible. With the weather technology from Weatheria, it wouldn't be difficult to build a self-sufficient base on the moon through artificial climate control."

"The only tricky part is that resources are depleted on the moon, so all the necessary resources for production must be transported from the Blue Star."

"Therefore, Judge," Roa looked at Judge full of expectation. "This will require you to develop more efficient flying devices."

"Yes, Boss!"

Judge, as always, did not disappoint Roa, immediately taking full responsibility. "I'll start researching right away!"

After that, there was nothing else of interest in the ruins.

Once everything worth taking was loaded onto the ship, the Calamity City set sail again, aiming to return to the Blue Star.

As the Calamity City slowly left the moon, King and Enel looked back with a sense of melancholy.

But it was only a slight sense of melancholy.

The story of the Birkas wasn't over, but the sequel definitely wouldn't take place on this dead planet.

They looked back at the blue planet suspended in the distant, dark universe.

This is the true battlefield!

The return trip took the same amount of time as the journey there.

It was a long time later when the Calamity City breached the Blue Star's atmosphere.

Roa stood on the rooftop terrace of the high tower, taking a deep breath of his homeland's air, his face showing an expression of intoxication.

"Although I haven't been gone for many days, it still feels so nostalgic. Blue Star, I'm back!"

Behind him, Dylan stood silently. "Boss, by comparing the sea charts, our current location is directly above the Calm Belt on the Paradise side."

"Paradise, huh?" Roa nodded lightly.

The Calamity Company hasn't advanced to the point of deploying satellites outside the Blue Star for positioning. Naturally, they could only confirm their location by comparing sea charts after entering the atmosphere.

A strange smile suddenly curved Dylan's lips. "Coincidentally, Boss, it's not far from Amazon Lily."

"Amazon Lily?" Roa raised an eyebrow.

"Boss, do you want to take a look?" Dylan inquired.

The Boss had been very interested in beautiful women over the past year or two.

As everyone knows, Amazon Lily is a true Nation of Women. Great beauties like Gloriosa (Elder Nyon) and Shakuyaku (Shakky) came from there.

"Forget it," Roa shook his head. "It's not the right time."

Aunt Gloriosa is probably mourning Roger's death somewhere in the world, and Shakky has long since run off with Rayleigh.

Is there anyone on Amazon Lily now worth a special trip?

Hancock has been born, but she's only two, right?

He'd wait a few years for her to grow up a bit before going. Although he already had many young children under his command, two or three years old was a bit too young.

Roa likes beautiful women, but he doesn't like taking care of children.

"Besides, hey, I need to hurry back. I can't wait to start the new game!"

"Yes."

Thus, the Calamity City did not land but headed directly back toward the New World.

Roa was completely unaware that he had missed something.

He immediately called Wang Zhi: "Uncle Wang Zhi, it's about time we started, don't you think?"

Amazon Lily.

Inside the basin surrounded by a circular, towering mountain range lies the Nation of Women, Amazon Lily.

A distinctive feature of this country is that many of the buildings are constructed on the mountain walls, supported by wooden stakes, creating a floating city effect.

And at this moment, on one of the buildings on the mountain wall.

Olvia gazed at the sky.

Did she see wrongly?

How did she manage to see a small patch of white cloud in the Calm Belt, where there is supposed to be no wind or clouds?

"Professor Olvia! Professor Olvia! What are you looking at?"

The innocent voice of a child sounded from behind her.

When Olvia turned around, a gentle smile was already on her face.

Before her was a group of girls of various ages. The oldest was ten. Holding Robin's small hand and looking up to ask her was Hancock, who, like Robin, was only just over two years old.

"Nothing," the woman crouched down with a smile and gently rubbed the head of the girl in front of her. "Little Hancock, are you having fun playing with Robin?"

"Yes!" The tiny girl nodded hard, even stumbling a little because she was too forceful.

"Mama..."

Seeing her mother pet her best friend's head, little Robin quickly scooted her head over too.

"Oh my, Robin loves to cuddle." Olvia laughed and rubbed her daughter's small head as well.

Then, more little heads crowded around.

"Professor Olvia, I want a turn too!"

"Me too, me too, Professor Olvia! I want Professor Olvia to pet my head too!"

Olvia looked at these adorable children, her heart melting. "Alright, alright, one by one."

To give her something to do, the country's Queen, Miss Gloriosa (Tritoma), had asked her to be the teacher for the nation's children.

Looking at it now, accepting her invitation was a very wise decision.

Spending every day with these lovely children, Olvia felt that her heart, which was full of holes after Roger's death, was greatly healed.

After affectionately petting all the children, Olvia smiled and said, "Now, it's time for class!"

"Yes—" all the children drew out the sound in a chorus.

Watching the children's faces, tightly focused with effort, Olvia couldn't contain her smile.

Especially when she saw Robin and Hancock, who couldn't even speak very clearly yet, try to make serious expressions, only to end up with strange contortions, she almost burst out laughing.

But after the laughter, she couldn't help but feel a little sad.

Robin was still only a little over two years old. In the first few months, she would cry and call out for her father, but now, she hadn't mentioned the word "Daddy" for a long time.

With so many friends on Amazon Lily, especially Hancock, whom she was practically inseparable from, Robin was having a very happy time every day.

In this country where no one has a father, Robin, you should be able to have a very joyful childhood.

But Robin, one day, you too will have to make a choice.

Do you want to inherit your father's will? Just say no.

If you choose to, Rayleigh promised he would come and teach you.

If you refuse, living the rest of your life anonymously is fine too.

No matter what you choose, your mother will support you. Your mother only hopes that you can live your life freely, according to your own will.
