Two months flew by in a flash. During this period, Roa diligently cultivated in Wano Country, while the outside world was thrown into considerable turmoil because of him.
In Roa's spiritual homeland, the Second Home, the Land of Unending War, a fierce battle was underway. This time, however, the two armies, usually evenly matched, found themselves in a completely one-sided situation.
Heavy artillery roared, as shells rained down on one side's position from over ten kilometers away. The bombarded leader bellowed in shock and fury, "Damn it! What's going on?! How can their cannons fire so far?!"
Their own artillery range was barely half that of the enemy's, leaving them in a purely defensive posture. Before the shelling even ceased, the enemy's ground assault began. Troops, forming snake-like formations, infiltrated from various directions, followed by dense gunfire.
Bullets became a storm of metal, continuously reaping the lives of their soldiers. "What are you standing around for?! Fire back! Quick, fire back!" the commander cried, eyes bloodshot. But the report he received was grim: "The enemy's firearms have nearly one and a half times our range! And their rate of fire is too fast, there's no possibility of counterattack!"
The high-ranking officials were baffled. How did the enemy's weaponry suddenly experience such a massive surge? "Regarding that point—" A high-ranking official entered the conference room with a man. "Hello, gentlemen," the newcomer said with a benevolent smile, "You seem very troubled, don't you? Well, it appears the weapon demonstration was very successful. How about it? Do you want to acquire the same weaponry as your enemy and drag the war back to an equilibrium?" The officials froze, instinctively exchanging glances. Selling to both sides? This style felt strangely familiar.
While weapons were being sold directly to intensify the war, many non-government affiliated countries also began to quietly stir.
In the dilapidated palace of Sphinx, the emaciated king paced back and forth. "No, the national sentiment has been a bit off lately!" he fretted. "Everyone is discussing those wealthy nations under the World Government, talking about how good life is for the people there." His plainly dressed queen added, "The newspapers have been publishing this content recently.
Didn't you say, Your Majesty? Ever since the World Economic News changed owners, it started siding with the World Government."
"Morgans is indeed currying favor with the World Government, but he's brought us big trouble!" the king said with a bitter smile. "The more people yearn for beauty, the more they despise hardship. Our poor country is too far from the World Government's affiliated nations. If such ideologies continue to spread, if the disparity in the hearts of our citizens becomes more severe, I dare not imagine what will happen next." Many affiliated nations indeed lived well, but this had nothing to do with his own non-affiliated country.
The fact that Sphinx could maintain basic order relied entirely on Whitebeard's decades-long financial aid. When his people started dreaming and became dissatisfied, the king began to panic.
Besides non-affiliated countries, affiliated countries also began to stir beneath the surface. In Flevance, the White Town of the North Blue, within a rather famous clinic, a man stared dumbfounded at documents, sweat beading on his forehead. Bang! He slammed the table, rising in shock and fury. "How dare they, how dare they do this?!"
"Do you believe us now, Doctor Trafalgar?" a smiling man asked. "White Lead possesses toxicity; it accumulates toxins in the bodies of long-term contactees, and these toxins are even passed down through generations. The World Government and this country's royalty concealed this, solely for the exorbitant profits brought by White Lead." Flevance was known as the White Town due to this beautiful, valuable mineral.
Doctor Trafalgar swayed precariously. "According to our estimations, in just over a decade, the White Lead disease will erupt on a large scale," the smiling man continued. "At that time, everyone in this country, except for the royalty and their close nobles, should die, shouldn't they?" Bang!Doctor Trafalgar slammed his fist on the table. His hand bled, but he seemed oblivious, his face filled with despair and streaming tears.
"It's too unfair, isn't it? Their glory and wealth bought with your lives," the man pressed on. "Doctor Trafalgar looked up, staring intently at the man who had suddenly appeared and revealed this cruel truth. "What exactly do you want?" "We are only for justice!" the man said with a smile. "The citizens of this country should have the right to know about their future, shouldn't they? Furthermore, they have the right to seek revenge against the royalty and the World Government who harmed them, don't they?"
Doctor Trafalgar instantly shivered. Intense fear left him bewildered; he realized that if things truly developed this way, not only Flevance, but the entire North Blue would likely be plunged into turmoil.
Millions of desperate people—what did that signify? But why not? The World Government owed this country! The flames of anger burned him once more. "Good!" He heard his own voice, like that of a vengeful spirit.
The world had gradually experienced no small commotion because of Roa, but Roa was still unaware that his own commotion was also about to arrive.
In a certain sea area of the New World, off an island, a ship silently ascended into the sky, flying very high until it landed on a large floating island. The people on board disembarked in a hurry and then went to pay respects to the king who ruled the sky. "Admiral, he's not on this island either." They meticulously reported their findings.
"Still not here?" the Golden Lion, listening to his subordinates' report, was quite impatient. They had been searching for over two months! To avoid alarming anyone, he had always sent people to quietly land on islands and search, but there had been no results.
"Admiral," a senior officer of the Flying Pirates suggested, "The newspapers say that Roa occupied the Germa Kingdom, which is a nation that wanders on the sea. Perhaps Roa hasn't been staying on any specific island, but has been wandering the seas." "Are you saying I did something stupid?" the Lion, in his prime, suddenly turned his head and glared. "No, I wouldn't dare!" the senior officer immediately trembled.
"If he's been wandering the seas, it's impossible for there to have been no witnesses. That brat's fleet isn't small at all!" the Golden Lion said coldly. "Keep searching! Where's the next island?" "Wano Country, Admiral, it's Wano Country!" "Wano Country? That isolated country, right? Speaking of which, it seems like a good place to hide!" The Golden Lion's eyes narrowed. "Coincidentally, an old woman I used to know was from Wano Country!"
He pulled out a Den Den Mushi and dialed a number, but received no response. This result made the Golden Lion's eyes instantly light up. "Gurarararara! That old woman's ability and personality mean she wouldn't die easily. Something has happened in that country!" "The name of Wano Country's samurai echoes throughout the world; ordinary people absolutely cannot run wild there!" And he knew the recent movements of all the extraordinary individuals in the New World, except for...
"Gurarararara! Head to Wano Country!" Even if it's just a possibility, it's enough, isn't it?
