Chapter 83 - The New Gods

Valentine and Glonk kicked away from each other, sliding through the shattered terrain, heat and starlight radiating off their frames.

Valentine slammed his fists together, his voice rising above the chaos.

"Let my Will become my Strength, and my Heart turn to Steel, Crimson Blessing!"

His hands ignited, but this fire burned beyond color. Black-Hot, Dark-Divine, and Unforgiving of any being that came into contact of it.

Glonk, rolling his shoulders, exhaled deeply as energy began to gather around his fists.

"No matter how tall, how strong, or how built you are... I will knock you down to the ground...

Aegis Breaker."

A gravity-like pulse rippled from his knuckles, coated in swirling cosmic haze--an atmosphere formed in miniature, forming around his clenched hands.

The two launched forward, fists flying like falling meteors.

Their first strike connected--an eruption of pure force. The air cracked and reality trembled.

Their second fists followed, and this time Glonk's punch broke through, slamming into Valentine's arm and chest. The impact forced Valentine back, his fists trembling, blood dripping from the seams of his cracked skin.

Glonk smirked, barely winded. "Guess I'm the stronger front-liner."

Valentine straightened up, bloodied but grinning. "Not so fast... you 2nd-rate."

Glonk brought both fists together. A gravitational void blinked into existence between his palms--a miniature black hole churning with pressure and cosmic-energy.

Valentine narrowed his eyes. "How cute of you to think I won't dodge that."

But Glonk grinned. "This is different, just like our power."

With a roar, Glonk clapped his fists again--this time absorbing the black hole. His body twisted and shimmered, becoming cloaked in warped shades of violet, black, and deep indigo.

His silhouette became cosmic, stretching and distorting like a singularity wrapped in muscle.

"Horizon's Fissure."

Valentine broke into a wide laugh. "Then I guess it's time to test what I've been working on..."

He spread his arms wide.

The very air around his hands began to fracture--cracks in reality formed along his fists and forearms.

It was like reality itself poured upward, encasing his arms in jagged plating that shimmered with colors too strange for mortal eyes, shifting between red, green, blue, and void-black depending on the angle at which he was viewed.

"Heartbroken Reality."

And there they stood--warped titans, gods in the form of men, staring at each other on the battlefield, encased in powers never before seen by anyone, not even closest friends.

Everything else fell silent around them, as they tunnel visioned on each other's presence.

The next move could end their fight--or even the world if that's what their will is.
