Chapter 462 - Chapter 462: Switched Again

"Given the current circumstances, I'd prefer you dress a bit more androgynously in daily life, Shinomiya, so I don't end up in an awkward position if we switch bodies unexpectedly."

"I think my usual clothes are just fine. At least there won't be any chaos if we switch."

Because the matter wasn't completely resolved, Rinji hoped that if they suddenly switched again, the clothing would at least be neutral enough to avoid a sudden personality shift.

Kaguya, on the other hand, felt that if Rinji's personality changed during the switch, at least he wouldn't go around fighting using her body.

Normally, a girl like Kaguya would be worried about what a boy might do in her body.

But given her understanding of Rinji and what Hayasaka had told her, she wasn't too worried about him being like a typical teenager—more concerned he might cause trouble.

For example, just a few hours into the body switch, the housekeeper and a bodyguard were already nowhere to be found.

"Also, haven't we already switched back?"

"My dad says the situation isn't fully over yet, so there's still a risk of switching again," Rinji said. "So I'll warn you now—don't do anything questionable in my body."

"Huh? Like I would ever do that!"

"I didn't think so. I'm mostly fine with you using my body. I just mean... My public image is that of a tough guy. Please don't use my body for any girly behavior."

"I'll do my best."

"That's all I wanted to say. Only you, me, and Ai know about this. Don't tell anyone else, and if anything happens, try not to make it obvious."

"Got it."

After hanging up, Rinji let out a long sigh and collapsed onto the couch.

There were so many complications after switching bodies, and now the bigger problem was not knowing when it might happen again.

"I was planning to have Dad switch us back next time, but he left this afternoon. Tch, slipped away so fast."

"I'm sure Uncle had his own matters to deal with."

Hayasaka poured him a cup of coffee and quietly sat beside him.

"By the way, you went out with me today. What about Karura?"

"I already asked her where she wanted to go tomorrow," Rinji said, resting his head. "She said she wanted to go to a love hotel."

"Ah... I could've guessed."

"Can't she suggest a normal dating place? She keeps talking about making babies, and I really can't deal with it," Rinji sighed. "I'm only sixteen. No one becomes a father at this age."

"..."

That was true, but Hayasaka could also see that Rinji's views on relationships were still... well, let's say, pure.

Simply put, Rinji still wasn't comfortable with anything R18 in a relationship.

In that regard, he was somewhat similar to Kaguya.

The reason the two could still be a couple despite such different views was partly because Karura had confessed to Rinji first, and more importantly, they were an extremely compatible match.

At least at the time, Rinji believed that once married, he and Karura would never have conflicts.

"Whatever, if nothing else, I'll take her somewhere to hang out tomorrow. A movie, maybe."

Rinji stood up and headed toward the door.

"Hm? Where are you going?"

"To the president's house. We agreed to meet today..."

As he reached for the door handle, Rinji suddenly froze.

Hayasaka looked at him curiously. "Rinji?"

Then 'Rinji' looked at Hayasaka with teary eyes.

"Hayasaka..."

"Oh. Kaguya-sama, huh?"

She understood—they had switched again.

---

"Kaguya-sama, have you calmed down?"

"Huu... More or less."

Rinji—or rather, Kaguya now in Rinji's body—took a sip of the coffee Hayasaka had made.

"It's been a while since I've had your coffee. It's really a waste to assign you to Rinji."

"It took a lot of effort to even get here... But it's good that you're calm now, Kaguya-sama."

Kaguya no longer had the panic from earlier.

After using Rinji's phone to call her own body—now inhabited by Rinji—and explaining everything, she had quickly regained composure.

"Since I don't know how long this switch will last, I'll just have to use Rinji's body to go about the day."

Kaguya smiled.

"Honestly, I've always wanted to try this."

"You're only saying that because your date mission ended today, right?"

"I used to wonder—what if I wasn't born into the Shinomiya family? What if I had another identity? Now I've got the chance."

"You've got a good attitude."

"Since it's a rare experience, I might as well enjoy it."

Kaguya stretched and stood from the sofa.

"Does Rinji have any other plans today?"

"Yes, he's supposed to visit the president's home."

"Eh?"

"Didn't you hear? The president, Shirogane, lives in this same building. Just a short elevator ride away."

"..."

"What's wrong? You can head down now."

"B-but going to the president's house… Isn't that too soon?" Kaguya blushed. "We just started dating, and now I'm going to meet his parents?"

"Can you stop being dumb? You're going there as Rinji."

"Then... should I prepare a gift before going in?"

"I said you're going as Rinji. He never brings gifts when he visits."

"But..."

Knock knock knock.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

"Sounds like the president is here. Kaguya-sama, time to act."

"Eh... Wait!"

Before Kaguya could say anything more, Hayasaka had vanished.

With no way out, Kaguya nervously opened the door.

Sure enough, Shirogane stood outside.

"President..."

"Rinji, I waited half an hour and you didn't show. Did something happen?"

"N-no, no problem at all."

"Good to hear... But hey, your face is really red. Are you sick?"

Shirogane touched 'his' forehead, then his own.

The simple gesture only made Kaguya's face even redder.
