Meanwhile....
Food is finally served. Luke, as always, has an appetite of a lion. Lura eats peacefully while John is shocked to see such young boy being a glutton. "Man, that boy sure is a food beast." Lura giggles. "Hey now, don't be rude."
"Anyway, Luke here inherit his dada's insane appetite. That's for sure!" She then chuckled. "Though this kid is a glutton, surely his potential exceeds what we could imagine! Well, all thanks to his parent's genes!" As they speak, the boy finished his food and ask for a new serving. Lura and John exchange look and smiled. John gave the boy another shot and the two lovers hold hands, watching him eat.
Later....
After Luke had his fill, he fell asleep and Lura took him inside the tent. "Would you look at that? He looks really cute when he is sleeping." John shows signs of wanting to pinch Luke's chubby cheeks. "Just admit it John. You really want to pinch this lil patotie's chubby cheeks." John scratches his scalp and Lura put blanket on the boy.
"Lura, I—" Lura stood up and pats his shoulders. "Let's talk outside. We don't want to disturb this lil boy's sleep." Both of them left and start discussing outside. "So, what is it that you wanna talk about?" John's hesitating. "Regarding your sister, Luna. I can't simply believe she passed away."
"She died protecting what she held dear, John. That's a noble way to die for someone like my big sis." John didn't speak and just give her a sympathized look. That — breaks her; bursting into tears. "I... I want to talk to my big sis about tons of things. Loads of stuffs, so to speak. There's so much things I wanna say and apologize but— everything's came down, I was too late. Everything's laid to waste." She mourns. "I just— couldn't accept it, ill now. Her death yaknow?"
"Back then, I left my big sis so I could heal from the pain caused by our mother's passing, like— I'm the only one got hurt! I'm so selfish, John! I'm damn selfish! I just walk away, not realizing she, too, felt the same way as I did when we lost our mother!" She covered her face in guilt. "Big sis is strong, just like our mother. I can't accept why she's killed that way. Perhaps that misery swayed her Faith? A faith that gives her power? I... I dunno what and why. All I could ever blame of her demise is me. Why, why did I leave her at that time?!"
Lura felled and start sobbing. John goes to her side and give his condolence. "Hey, it's nobody's fault, Lura my dear. Don't beat yourself for it." He comforts. "It really is hard to lose your precious big sis. After all, your bond are the strongest. But— like I always said; 'Everything has a purpose.' It might seem like harsh and cruel but— it's a part of a big picture my love." Lura's sniffling. "I know my words sounds kinda heartless but I don't intend you to think that way."
She looked at him. "John...? Is my cousin being part infernal also intended by fate? In all of T'Matou Sauz's history, my cousin's the first case of being an offspring of an Infernal and Man. None even dared to have spawn against Tophet's accursed creatures since." John didn't speak. "Infernals are the creations of the Doom Deity. They are created majorly with emotion as the Deity is entrusted that power from the Supreme Deity."
"We, humans, who are made by the image of the Supreme Being, are enriched with emotion and capable of self-control. We can manage our emotions well unlike the infernals. Whatever their nature, they cannot contain them, one notable infernal were the Anherion Clan. Their kind are enriched with strong emotions that they, themselves, suffer by it for not being able to contain it."
"Yeah. Our boy there already shown that part of being a glutton, just like what your big sis spoke off." Lura nods. "It is. We don't know what are his father's predecessor's nature. But knowing their Clan's are known to contain such strong emotions, I dunno what's to come." She stares at her palm. "I dunno what's gonna happen in the future. If something were to happen to Luke — I can't bring myself to be okay. He's the only relative I have left, what's more is... he's my big sis' precious child. "
Lura's panicking but John goes by placing both of his hands to her cheeks, forcing her to maintain eye contact. "Look, we don't know what's gonna happen in the future, okay? Only the Supreme Deity. What we're going to do now is do what seemed to be right. We have no control over the flow of time. It was never been one to begin with!"
"If our actions aligns with the Supreme Deity's will, Luke will be who he is— to live and have family of his own. But if it's not— regardless of our attempts, the Supreme Deity's will shall be done." He wipes off her tears. "So, cheer up, my love." Lura embraced him. "Thank you, my dearest."
Meanwhile...
"Anyway, my dear. I heard that the boy's father is Lucas. Do you have any idea who's this infernal be? I— I mean, what you know rather." Lura let out a sigh. "Well, I'm aware he's a Void King, since it is stated in a letter that your big sis gave you. But, do you happen to know more of his background?" Lura looked down. "I can't entirely tell, John. Our meeting with Lucas is abrupt. There's nothing worth sharing. It was a matter of surprise that Lucas is a full fledge infernal despite his looks and behavior since our last encounter."
"I see. So your first encounter didn't give any doubt at all? Nothing even the slightest?" Lura rubs her chin. "Well, we do sense an infernal aura but we were surely deceived by his looks and appearance." John wondered for a sec and reacted. "Well, you have a point. After all, people believe what they saw than their guts. But entirely correct in the other way around. You and your sister didn't suspect a thing about Lucas and just treated him like some sort of a company."
"Heh... hehe..." Lura scratches her cheeks, looking embarrassed. "Anyway, I gotta do what I needed to gotta do, my love. Take yourselves out!" John turn his back and Lura gave him a surprise kiss on his cheeks. "May the Supreme Deity blesses your way." Lura headed back to the tent and stay at the boy's side.
Deep in the forest....
John found a patch full of herbs whose design matches to his book. "Healing herbs, hmm? Quite surprising they thrive healthily in a place with only specks of light." So, he goes and start plucking. Just then— a sudden thought struck him. "Hmm... Surely, mastering 5 Nature elements is not an easy feat. But I wonder — why does Lura want the boy to master them all?"
When he finished plucking, he starts moving onto the boulder, searching for something. "I don't understand her motives. Surely, honing and mastering them all leads in accessing 2 powers of the Divine; Lux (Light) and Umbra (Shadow/Dark). They are the pinnacle of Faith. If Lura were aiming that goal all along, well, she wants Luke to take the path how their mother trained them."
After searching around the rock, he found another herb and pluck it. "Lyfrienia Clan are proficient Light users. It is said that their clan are blessed by the Supreme Deity for their outstanding Loyalty and Faith. But the Supreme Deity said: 'Those who follow Him is repelled by the World.' That's when their once thriving Clan is reduced in ruins."
"That boy has Lyfrienian and Anherion blood coursing through his veins. The embodiment of Light and Dark. I wonder which is which that the boy takes his path?" John continue searching for the materials.
Meanwhile...
Both mother and child were now preparing for the next training session. "Alright, alright! You're finally up for the next session, huh son?" Luke flexes his lil biceps. "I'm fully up for the next training, momshie! So, what element should I train with? Aeros or Tierra?" Lura giggles. "Oh, you lil patotie. Slow down, will ya? Anyways, let's go with Aeros." Luke's looking all pumped.
"Segunda Mons has prominent wind particles, so our journey is not a total goner! Now, you're free to start dear! And remember what you've learned so far, okay?" Luke nods and start his training. "Hmm... Luke's been doing great lately. Might as well grab something healthy to eat." Lura left to fetch some fruits around the forest. As what Lura expected, the process goes well, the winds swirling around the boy but it became dire by the time a rock scratches his shoulder.
The scent of blood triggered his young trauma.
"This scent... feels oddly familiar." Just then, when his blood drifts in the air, that's when his worse nightmare resurfaced. The memory tells that: While in his point of view as a child, the Soothsayer's carried him away from her mother, Luna. She's battling the infernals but- while protecting them, she procured injuries. Luna's bloody stench registered into the young boy's memory thus— he cried and his power gone out of control.
Luke successfully unleashed Aeros but because of his raging emotions, Tontrus and Agua manifested as well, creating storm in his vicinity. Just in time, Lura arrived, bring lots of fruits with her. "Are ya winning son?!!" Just then, the moment she look ahead, she quickly dropped them in shock. "Oh no, Luke!!!?"She draws near and trying to get through him but the earth itself attacked her!
Thankfully, Lura may not be on par with Luna, doesn't mean she herself is weak, therefore, she quickly evaded the attack. "Tierra??! What a surprise!? Didn't expect you were able to learn 2 elements at a time!" Lura praises her boy but it seems there's no signs of him being quelled. "Tch, I know it'll be bad to train for Aeros." She grumble. Just then—
"Lura!" John came in, looks puzzled. "Lura it seems Segunda Mons's condition gotten worse! Go get the child and let's leave—! Wait a minute, where's that kid? And— oh my celestial planes! Tornado??!"
"John, great timing! Please, help me destroy that tornado by blocking it with your Tierra Element!" Lura's preparing herself. "What do you intend to do, Lura?"
"I'm going to destroy it." This made John jaw drop. "You — WHAT??! I... I mean, I do believe your capability but destroying this force of nature is something—" Lura is powering up. "That is not a force of nature but one's frenzied power." John looked around and he noticed that the child is missing, therefore he's silenced. He strengthened his Faith and unleashed Tierra Element.
The very earth trembled, cracked, and massive rock walls emerges from the ground, overwhelming Luke's tierra element. "Tierranean Fortress!" John's power restricts the formation of the Tornado. "Job well done, my dear!" She congratulates him. "Now, leave the rest to me!" Lura's bathe with Light and condensed it to her hand. The light forms a sword and prepares for an attack.
She dashed towards the wall and unleashed a powerful leap. She then takes a closer look and prepares to slash. "Divine Judgment: Heavenly Cleaver!" Lura's sword surged with light and sliced through the its path like a tomato! The Tornado disperses, and so is John's wall. The man himself is in awe. "So, this is the might of Lunaria's offspring."
Lura starts searching for the boy and thankfully, the boy is unharmed, laying on the ground unconsciously. She now descends and is greeted by John. "What a devastating power, my love! As expected of a Lyfrienian, who are renowned as Pa—" Lura placed her finger to his mouth, halting him. "I know. But right now, we have to check on Luke."
"Wait, it was the boy who created that devastating force of nature??!" Lura nods. "Let's go check him." They approaches thim but suddenly, Luke body starts releasing ominous aura. "This aura, it's from Anherions!" They're shocked. The poor boy start convulsing and this made John worry. "Now that he learned the 5 Elements of Nature, I thought he would— at least blessed by light but— it seems I was wrong."
John's about to touch him but— "Don't touch him, John!" Lura demanded and John halts. "That darkness is no ordinary. It will cause harm once you get in contact." John is speechless. "Lemme cast something first, for safety concerns." She extends her palm and it starts glowing. "Divine Blessing: Sacred Touch." Light particles now channels towards the boy and somehow the darkness dissipated.
"That should do it." Lura wipes off her sweat and John look at him in shock. "Wow, I didn't expect Lyfrienia Clan is akin to sealing!" He couldn't hide his amazement but Lura didn't react, instead, she debunk him. "Lyfrienia Clan are Divine Warriors blessed by the power of extermination from the Supreme Deity, for the sole purpose of protecting humanity from the Vile Creatures of Tophet."
"That's one heck of an introduction there." John expresses. "It is! We like to praise the Supreme One of His blessing." She feels grateful to praise the Supreme Deity's name. "Anyway, our Clan are most likely exterminators." John crosses his arms. "Sealing is part of of Purification and Healing. It's not something an Exterminator are capable of."
"And you are correct about that." Lura proves him correct. "The Clan who specializes in that field were Quintico Clan." John shrugs. "Quintico Clan? Never heard of them."
"Of course you didn't. After all, they hid their existence well for- just like Lyfrienia Clan, they are despised by the World for being a faithful believer of the Supreme Deity." Lura's words caught John's attention. "Wait, there are more Clans who possesses great devotion aside from Lyfrienia Clan?"
"Well, in some sense, there are. But there are only two Clans that are given great task from the Supreme Deity himself and those are the Clan of Lyfrienia and Quintico." Lura exhales. "If Lyfrienia acts as clan of exterminators, Quintico are appointed as healers. These two Clans are blessed to help mankind from the impending crisis that mankind experience from Tophet's infernals." John's in focus.
"The Supreme One tried to extend His help through us, The Lyfrienia Clan and Quintico Clan, but— the World rejected Him by slaughtering chosen people. How ironic."
